Begin the day by heading to Tarangire National Park, a comfortable 2-hour drive on tarmac roads. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, a crucial source of water for wildlife in the region during the Dry season, earning it the nickname "river of warthogs". Tarangire is renowned for its elephant families, often congregating by the riverbanks. Keep an eye out for giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, with predators like lions and leopards following closely. Tarangire boasts an impressive diversity of bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers. The landscape is dotted with ancient baobab trees, some believed to have stood for over a thousand years. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park's scenic sites. After an exhilarating game drive, you will be transferred to your accommodation near the park, where you can unwind and relish the experiences of the day.
