7-Day Tanzania Mount Kilimanjaro Machame Climb

Take on a seven-day Mount Kilimanjaro climb in Tanzania via the scenic Machame Route, one of the mountain’s most rewarding approaches. Also known as the “Whiskey Route,” this trek allows seven days for better acclimatization as you move through changing landscapes within Kilimanjaro National Park. Your mountain adventure begins near Moshi before entering Kilimanjaro National Park and hiking from Machame Gate toward Machame Camp. The route continues across the beautiful Shira Plateau, a high-altitude landscape and one of the climb’s most memorable settings. From Shira Camp, hike toward Lava Tower at 4,600 metres before continuing to Barranco Camp and the famous Barranco Wall. The seven-day route crosses five different ecological zones, creating a varied trekking experience from the lower mountain to the summit environment. You will experience tropical rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, rocky mountain terrain and the icy environment around the summit. Along the way, camp in beautiful mountain locations while progressing toward Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. This Tanzania Kilimanjaro trekking package costs 2,000 USD per person. The package includes Kilimanjaro National Park entrance fees, camping fees, mountain rescue fees and government taxes. Support on the climb comes from a professional English-speaking mountain guide, assistant guides where required and an experienced mountain cook.
