You will be picked up at 7:30am and driven to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The Masai Mara is located in southwestern Kenya along the border with Tanzania. The scenic drive takes about five hours, passing through the Great Rift Valley before reaching Kenya's premier game reserve. We will briefly stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy stunning views of the world's largest valley before arriving at AA Lodge Mara for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village to learn about traditional customs and daily life. Masai villages, also known as "Manyattas", are traditional settlements inhabited by the Maasai people, a semi-nomadic ethnic group known for their distinct culture, colourful dress, and deep-rooted traditions. Visiting a Masaai village offers valuable cultural insight and is a common addition to safaris in areas such as the Masai Mara. You will then return to AA Lodge Mara for dinner and a relaxed overnight stay under the stars.
