6-Day Tanzania Mount Kilimanjaro Marangu Climb

Climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on this 6-day Marangu Route adventure, travelling through Kilimanjaro National Park to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 metres. Known as the popular Coca-Cola Route, Marangu is the only Kilimanjaro route offering overnight accommodation in comfortable mountain huts rather than tents, making it a practical choice for trekkers who value shelter throughout the climb. The journey begins in Moshi with a transfer to Marangu Gate, followed by the rainforest trail to Mandara Hut. This lush section offers the opportunity to spot wildlife in Kilimanjaro’s rainforest. Continue from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut, where an extra acclimatization day helps your body adjust to the altitude and is designed to improve summit success. The route then leads towards Kibo Hut along the 3rd Caves–Kibo Hut Trail before the summit attempt. On summit day, reach Uhuru Peak and experience spectacular views of Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks before descending to Horombo Hut. The final day continues to Marangu Gate, followed by a return transfer to Moshi City. Along the climb, you will walk through five unique ecological zones as the scenery changes with altitude, creating one of Tanzania’s most distinctive mountain experiences.
