Your safari begins with a flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park, followed by a warm welcome from your safari guide. After settling in and enjoying lunch, head out for your first afternoon game drive across the park’s open savannah and woodland. Explore the beautiful Mkata River floodplain, one of Mikumi’s most rewarding wildlife areas, and keep your eyes open for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, impalas and wildebeest. With luck, you may also spot lions resting in the grass or watching their surroundings. As the afternoon light changes the landscape, enjoy photography and learn about Mikumi’s wildlife, plants and ecosystem before returning to your lodge or camp.
