Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from Kilimanjaro International Airport or your accommodation in Arusha. Meet your professional safari guide, settle into your private 4x4 vehicle, and travel towards Tarangire National Park.
Famous for its large elephant herds, impressive baobab trees, and varied landscapes, Tarangire offers a wonderful introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife. As you enter the park, begin exploring its open grasslands, wooded areas, and seasonal swamps, where animals gather around the Tarangire River, particularly during the dry season.
During your game drive, look for elephants moving through the bush, giraffes feeding on acacia trees, zebras and wildebeest grazing on the plains, and buffaloes gathering in herds. With luck, you may also spot lions resting in the shade or a leopard concealed among the branches.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing your wildlife exploration throughout the afternoon. Your guide will help you discover the park’s different habitats and identify the animals you encounter along the way.
Later in the day, leave the park and travel to Eileen’s Trees Inn, where you can relax in comfortable surroundings, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the cultural and wildlife experiences ahead.
