Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel. If arrival time allows, you will have an optional excursion to Mabamba Swamp, one of Uganda’s most important wetland ecosystems and a globally recognized birding site for the rare shoebill stork. Mabamba Swamp lies on the western shores of Lake Victoria and is best accessed by a short road transfer from Entebbe followed by a traditional canoe ride through narrow papyrus channels. This calm water safari offers excellent chances of spotting the shoebill, along with other species such as kingfishers, herons, African jacanas, and swamp flycatchers. The experience is quiet, scenic, and one of the best introductions to Uganda’s rich biodiversity.
