About this safari
Experience a 10-day private mid-range safari across Kenya and Tanzania, with five days in Kenya followed by five days in Tanzania. The journey begins at Lake Nakuru, a renowned destination for wildlife viewing, bird watching and varied landscapes. Its lakeside setting provides a distinctive start to the safari, with opportunities to appreciate the area’s natural surroundings and enjoy game drives. The Kenyan portion continues to the Masai Mara, one of East Africa’s classic safari settings. Here, the open plains and distinctive scenery create an iconic environment for game drives and wildlife-focused exploration. The Masai Mara also adds strong Big Five appeal to this private Kenya safari, complementing the bird watching and varied landscapes associated with Lake Nakuru. Together, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara offer a contrasting Kenya itinerary that moves from a renowned lake environment to expansive grassland scenery. From the Masai Mara, the route continues by road through the Isebania border. This overland transition creates a distinctive cross-border connection between Kenya and Tanzania and links the Kenyan portion of the journey with the Tanzanian safari experience. The transfer keeps the itinerary focused on wildlife, landscapes and memorable national park environments while connecting two major East African destinations. In Tanzania, explore the sweeping plains of Serengeti National Park, a remarkable setting known for its broad landscapes and classic safari atmosphere. The Serengeti provides a strong setting for game drives, wildlife viewing and Big Five safari experiences, while extending the journey into one of Tanzania’s best-known national park environments. The five-day Tanzania section balances the cross-border route with time in the Serengeti, creating a focused private safari across Kenya and Tanzania. With bird watching, game drives and the Big Five among its highlights, this 10-day Kenya to Tanzania itinerary combines Lake Nakuru, the Masai Mara, the Isebania border and Serengeti National Park in one mid-range private safari. It is designed around distinct landscapes, named safari destinations and a clear five-days-in-Kenya, five-days-in-Tanzania structure.

Have an early morning pick up then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the Rift Valleys most famous Lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingoes. It's alkaline and is recognized as being one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore. You will arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive.
