Primate Journeys Africa Ltd

Primate Journeys Africa Limited is a proudly East African-owned Destination Management Company (DMC), founded in November 2013 by passionate travel enthusiasts and tourism professionals Joshua Kago Mahande, Rukundo Samuel, and Irigoga Charlotte. Joshua Kago Mahande is an accomplished lawyer and peace advocate with a deep commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment. Co-founder Rukundo Samuel began his tourism journey as a porter in the legendary Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon, before building an extensive career as a safari guide, destination specialist, and tourism professional across East and Central Africa. Irigoga Charlotte, based in Rwanda, brings valuable regional expertise and local knowledge, strengthening the company's operations and commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences throughout Rwanda. United by a shared passion for authentic travel, the founders envisioned a company that would go beyond conventional safari itineraries. They believed that every traveler deserves the opportunity to experience Africa in a more personal, immersive, and meaningful way. From this vision, Primate Journeys Africa Limited was born. Today, the company has grown into a trusted Destination Management Company with operational offices in Kampala, Uganda, and Kigali, Rwanda, serving travelers from around the world. Supported by a dedicated team of experienced travel consultants, professional safari guides, and destination specialists, we design tailor-made journeys that showcase the very best of East and Central Africa. Our core destinations include Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with particular expertise in gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, wildlife safaris, birdwatching expeditions, photography tours, cultural experiences, luxury holidays, and bespoke adventures crafted to suit each client's interests and expectations. At Primate Journeys Africa Limited, our mission is to create exceptional African journeys that inspire, educate, and leave lasting memories while promoting responsible tourism, conservation, and meaningful connections with the people, wildlife, and landscapes of Africa.
