A Zimbabwe safari in 2027 costs about $175 to $500 per person per day for many budget and mid-range plans. A $2,000 budget can cover about 3 to 6 safari days, depending on accommodation, park fees, transport, and activities. Flights, drinks, tips, and some medical cover are extra. Compare verified Zimbabwe safari options before you book.
One 2027 Zimbabwe safari itinerary costs $10,995, while a basic park-based trip can cost about $325 per day. That wide gap shows why your travel style matters more than the country name alone.
Zimbabwe Safari Cost 2027: What a $2,000 Budget Covers is a guide to planning a short, sensible trip. It uses current research on budget, mid-range, and luxury safari prices. It also explains what your money may cover and what you must confirm before paying a deposit.
Zimbabwe is a strong choice for travelers who prefer smaller groups, wildlife drives, and time in national parks. However, a $2,000 budget does not buy every safari style. It will not cover a long luxury itinerary with private guides, premium lodges, and international flights.
The guide focuses on safari costs quoted per person. Some operators price rooms and vehicles per couple or group. Ask how the operator calculates the rate. Then check park fees, transfers, meals, drinks, tips, and emergency cover.
Quick answer: A $2,000 budget can fund about six days at a $325 daily rate before flights and personal extras. At $250 per day, it can cover eight days in theory, but transport, fees, and transfers reduce the usable number of days. Request a detailed quote for your dates and group size.
Zimbabwe safari cost in 2027 starts at about $250 to $350 per person per day for budget trips, while mid-range trips cost $350 to $550 per day. A $2,000 budget therefore works best for a short safari with simple lodging, shared transport, or camping. [7]
Zimbabwe safari prices cover a broad range. One cost guide places typical trips at $250 to more than $1,000 per person per day. Accommodation style, season, and activities drive the final rate. [4] A budget plan can feel very different from a private lodge circuit.
| Name | Price | Duration with $2,000 | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget safari | $250 to $350 per day [7] | About 5 to 8 days before extras | Confirm with operator | Camping and simple park stays |
| Listed budget package | About $325 per day [1] | About 6 days before extras | Confirm with operator | Hwange and Matobo park visits |
| Mid-range safari | $350 to $550 per day [7] | About 3 to 5 days before extras | Confirm with operator | Comfortable lodges and guided drives |
| Luxury safari | $700 to $1,000 or more per day [7] | About 2 to 3 days before extras | Confirm with operator | Private guides and premium camps |
The listed $325 package uses self-catering chalets or camping inside Zimbabwe National Parks. It also includes basic lodge stays near Victoria Falls. The plan covers accommodation in Hwange and Matobo National Parks. [1] This is the clearest example of what a $2,000 budget can buy.
Hwange National Park is suited to travelers who want repeated wildlife drives. Its large size supports a slower plan, with several morning and afternoon drives. [2] That matters because a short visit may leave less time for wildlife viewing.
Matobo National Park adds a different setting and can balance a Hwange route. However, the exact activities, guide services, and park fees need confirmation. The source describes the accommodation, but it does not list every service included in the daily rate. [1]
A daily rate does not always equal the full trip cost. Flights, drinks, tips, and some extra services sit outside many safari quotes. A $2,000 plan should therefore keep a reserve for transfers and personal spending.
Use the 7-day Zimbabwe safari itinerary and cost guide to compare route length with the money you have. Then ask whether the quote includes every night, every transfer, and each planned game drive.
A safari in Zimbabwe costs about $250 to $1,000 or more per person per day, depending on accommodation, season, and activities. Budget safaris sit near $250 to $350 per day. Mid-range trips cost $350 to $550, while luxury trips cost $700 to $1,000 or more. [4][7]
Accommodation is often the biggest cost choice. Camping and self-catering chalets can keep the price near the lower budget range. Basic lodges cost more. Premium lodges, private vehicles, and specialist activities push the daily rate much higher.
Zimbabwe National Parks accommodation appears in the listed budget package. That package costs about $325 per person per day and includes Hwange and Matobo stays. [1] The rate gives you a useful planning base, but it does not prove that every 2027 operator will offer the same price.
Hwange National Park is a sensible focus for a budget traveler who wants more game drives. A longer stay can spread travel time across more wildlife days. A fast route may cost more per day because transfers take up time and require extra transport.
Victoria Falls can also change the budget. Basic lodge stays near the falls appear in the listed package, but premium accommodation and added activities need separate checks. A walking tour, river activity, or private transfer may not sit inside the daily safari rate.
At $250 per day, $2,000 equals eight daily safari rates before other costs. At $325 per day, it equals about six days. At $350 per day, it equals about five days. These figures are planning math, not final package quotes.
These examples explain why six days is a safer target than eight. A quote that uses a lower daily rate may still add park fees or transport later. Read the inclusions line by line before you compare totals.
Compare 2027 Zimbabwe park package costs before choosing a route and ask verified operators for a full price breakdown.
Flights are extra in the research summary. Drinks and tips are also extra. The OARS 2027 Zambezi River and Zimbabwe trip lists mandatory emergency medical and evacuation coverage as an additional requirement. It also lists a $1,000 deposit and a $2,000 single supplement. [3]
That OARS itinerary costs $10,995 for departures on October 10 and October 27, 2027. [3] It is not a $2,000 option. It shows how private, premium, and multi-part trips can sit far above a basic park safari.
Plan a Zimbabwe safari with $2,000 by choosing a short park-based route, simple accommodation, and a shared or group departure. Start with five days at about $325 per day. Keep the remaining money for transfers, tips, drinks, and costs missing from the quote.
Budget safari travelers should avoid building a long route with many transfers. Every move can add vehicle time and another charge. A focused itinerary usually gives you more wildlife time for each dollar.
Camping and self-catering chalets can lower the accommodation bill. The listed budget package uses both options inside Zimbabwe National Parks. [1] Ask whether tents, cooking equipment, bedding, and campsite fees are part of the price.
Shared departures can also reduce the cost of vehicles and guides. However, group size affects comfort and timing. Ask how many guests share the vehicle and whether the operator guarantees a window seat or a private departure.
Book early for 2027 dates, but do not pay before you see the terms. The available research gives price bands, not a guaranteed national rate. Ask about cancellation rules, deposit deadlines, currency, and changes in park fees.

Zimbabwe also offers areas beyond a basic Hwange and Matobo plan. You can review Zimbabwe safari destinations and packages, then match each route to your daily limit. Keep the main trip focused if your total budget remains $2,000.
A Zimbabwe safari costs about $250 to $1,000 or more per person per day. Budget trips cost about $250 to $350 daily, mid-range trips cost $350 to $550, and luxury trips cost $700 to $1,000 or more. Accommodation, season, and activities set the final price. [4][7]
Yes, a $2,000 budget can cover a short Zimbabwe safari. At a listed rate of $325 per person per day, it covers about six safari days before extra costs. A five-day trip leaves more room for transfers, tips, drinks, and other charges. [1]
A listed $325 package includes self-catering chalets or camping in Zimbabwe National Parks, plus basic lodge stays near Victoria Falls. The package covers accommodation in Hwange and Matobo National Parks. Confirm meals, park fees, transfers, and activities before booking. [1]
Flights are extra in the current research summary. Drinks and tips are also extra. Ask the operator for a written list of inclusions so your $2,000 budget does not cover only the daily safari rate.
A luxury Zimbabwe safari is not realistic for a full trip on $2,000. Luxury rates sit near $700 to $1,000 or more per person per day. A premium 2027 Zambezi River and Zimbabwe itinerary is listed at $10,995, before some additional costs. [3][7]
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. Compare Zimbabwe safari packages, check the inclusions, read past traveler feedback, and request a quote for your dates before you pay a deposit.
A $2,000 budget can fund a useful Zimbabwe safari in 2027, but it works best with a short route and simple accommodation. The clearest planning figure is about $325 per person per day. That rate can support roughly five or six days before flights and personal extras. [1]
Choose Hwange for repeated wildlife drives, then add Matobo if the route and transfer costs fit. Budget rates of $250 to $350 per day offer the best chance of staying near your limit. [7] Keep a separate reserve for tips, drinks, transfers, and emergency cover.
Compare verified safari packages on SafariFind, read authentic reviews, and request a quote from verified operators before booking. Use the 2027 Hwange safari timing guide while you plan your dates. With careful checks, your $2,000 can buy real park time in Zimbabwe in 2027.

"Booking the safari at Miombo Safari Camp with Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours was easy and they answer all our questions thoroughly and in a timely fashion. We communicated through email, payment was easy too through email. There was no availability for the Hwange safari camp on the dates we requested but Mr. Tongesai managed to find us another safari camp, Miombo, which was a delightful place whilst honoring the rates offered at their website. Mr. Tongesai made sure we were picked up and driven to the camp, accompanying us on the 2-hour trip and later receiving us back at our hotel. Miombo's accommodations, the tent, was like camping with glamour. It was spacious with 2 comfortable single beds and charming decoration. The ensuite bathroom felt like we were in the woods but protected and with the comforts of a good hotel. The hot water in the shower was not working but Mr. Bernard, Miombo's host, made sure it was fixed by the time we came back from the afternoon game drive. The tent was right in front of a water hole, which depending on the season, would have received the visit of elephants. We didn't see any animals there but one night a leopard came to our camp. Unfortunately, we didn't see it as we slept safely under the watch of night guards. They also made sure we were escorted back and forth during the night between our tent and the common area. Mr. Bernard served delicious meals in the beautiful open common area viewing the forest and sometimes with a visit of monkeys. The dessert was always delicious! At night we had a bonfire to huddle to, and one of the nights we were treated with local barbecue and a dance. Everything was a delight. The game drivers are also a delight with their stories, knowledge and funny jokes, Nigel and Mr. B are amazing hosts, making sure everyone is comfortable and going out there to find the great animals and birds for us. The game drives in Hwange were amazing! We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeasts, buffalos, impalas, koudos, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, amazing birds! We missed the lions and leopards by minutes but it was okay. Makes us want to come back again. The sunset drive was also a delight with Nigel, including a stop for a snack. Our driver back to the hotel was also a great delight with his incredible stories and knowledge. I learned so much about the animals in these 3 days. The tour has lived up to our expectations and more! Mr. Tongesai also took care of our requests for a Sunset Cruise and an Elephant Ride as soon as we reached the hotel. Less than half an hour, Mr. Tongesai arranged us to be picked up to go to a Sunset Cruise on the evening we arrived from the safari. The cruise was a delight, the sunset on the Zambezi river was amazing and the service on board was great, great food and beverages, Zambezi beer of course! The Elephant Ride arranged by Mr. Tongesai was also an amazing adventure I will never ever forget. Riding my elephant Detema with the driver Tunzi was amazing, against the sunrise backdrop, amazing colours in the sky. The lady that accompanied us taking pictures, she did such a great jobs, I love my pictures on the elephant! The feeding and petting the elephants after the ride was another amazing experience! These elephants are such a delight, sucking fiercely the food in our hands! I simply loved it! Then they served us a delicious breakfast while watching our beautiful pictures on the elephant. I learned so much about elephants with my driver. Everything in this place, this tour, the people and the animals, is amazing, unbelievable, unforgettable! I love Vic Falls, Hwange, Zimbabwe! I hope to come back and I will definitely tell all my friends that they have to have this experience in their bucket list. And it is easy, just reach out to Mr. Tongesai and Cultural Vibes, they will take great good care of you! You will love them! We thank Mr. Tongesai and everyone at Cultural Vibes, Miombo Safari Camp, Sunset Cruise, Elephant Ride, who made us have the time of our life!"

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"My travel companions and I chose the 4 day experience. Technically it is really a 3 day experience, because the last day they provide airport transportation. I feel they go above and beyond in making sure they are providing their customers with a safe, exciting and exceptional experience. Gari was our driver/guide in Zimbabwe, and was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Gari either made sure we were where we needed to be or provided his own guide trip to the Victoria Falls. He even provided the rain gear, which is most necessary. Gari and his "boss" Mr T. went above and beyond when Delta postponed our flight by a day, by helping to make sure that the connecting airline would change our reservation. They then made sure we got to the airport on time, a day later. They are always willing to provide any additional things that you would like to see and do. If you looking for a guided tour company, this is the one to use, and one that I would have no hesitation in using again."
