Walvis Bay beach holiday packages combine coastal relaxation with African wildlife experiences along Namibia's stunning Atlantic coastline. These packages offer beachfront accommodation, guided safaris, and water activities in one of Africa's most unique beach destinations. Walvis Bay sits where the Namib Desert meets the ocean, creating a rare blend of beach and safari adventures.
The 2027 packages feature modern lodges with ocean views, professional guides, and flexible booking options. Long Beach Lodge offers some of the most popular rates in the region, starting from N$650 per person per night on a bed-and-breakfast basis [2]. These packages appeal to travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure without long flights between destinations.
Most packages include guided beach safaris to Sandwich Harbour, where you can spot seals, dolphins, and shorebirds. Many operators also add optional activities like desert exploration, flamingo cruises, and visits to nearby Lüderitz for historical tours. The combination makes Walvis Bay ideal for families, couples, and solo travelers seeking diverse experiences.
Walvis Bay offers something most African beach destinations cannot: direct access to world-class wildlife viewing combined with pristine beaches. The area hosts over 200,000 Cape fur seals, making it one of the world's largest seal colonies. You get beach time and wildlife encounters in a single location without multiple transfers.
The Atlantic location means cooler temperatures compared to other African beaches. This makes Walvis Bay comfortable for outdoor activities even during summer months. The combination of cool ocean breezes and desert heat creates unique natural conditions found nowhere else in Africa.
Safety and accessibility also set Walvis Bay apart. The town has modern infrastructure, reliable accommodations, and well-established tourism services. Many international visitors combine Walvis Bay with a Namibia safari itinerary that includes other highlights like Etosha and Sossusvlei.
Walvis Bay beach holiday package prices in 2027 range from budget-friendly to luxury options. Long Beach Lodge, one of the region's most popular beachfront properties, charges N$650 per person per night for shared accommodation on a bed-and-breakfast basis [2]. Single occupancy rooms cost N$1,075 per person per night, offering privacy at a premium.
These rates represent mid-range beachfront accommodation with included breakfast. Additional activities like Sandwich Harbour safaris, boat cruises, and desert tours typically cost N$200-N$400 per person per day. Multi-day packages bundling accommodation, meals, and activities often provide 10-15% savings compared to booking each component separately.
A typical 5-day Walvis Bay beach holiday breaks down as follows: Accommodation costs N$3,250-N$5,375 (5 nights at Long Beach Lodge), meals beyond breakfast add N$400-N$600 daily, and guided activities total N$1,000-N$2,000. Total cost per person ranges from N$7,150-N$9,975 for a complete package with meals and activities included.
Flight costs from major cities add significantly to total expenses. International flights to Windhoek typically cost $600-$1,200 per person, plus the 4-hour ground transfer to Walvis Bay. Many travelers book flight-inclusive packages through operators on SafariFind, which often bundle accommodation, transfers, and activities for better value.
Off-season discounts apply from April to August, when prices drop 15-25% below peak rates. Peak season (September-March) commands higher prices due to warm weather and better wildlife visibility. Early booking for 2027 packages—made now in August 2026—secures lower rates before prices increase closer to travel dates.

The best time to visit Walvis Bay for a beach holiday is September through March, when temperatures range from 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F). This period offers warm, sunny days perfect for beach time and wildlife viewing. Water temperatures reach their peak in March, making ocean swimming more comfortable than other seasons.
September and October bring excellent wildlife conditions. Migrating seabirds return to the coast, and seal colonies are most active. Spring weather (September-October) also brings fewer tourists compared to December-January peak season, meaning shorter queues and more personal attention from guides.
December through February represents peak holiday season with the warmest temperatures but also the highest prices and largest crowds. January and February can see occasional rain, though the area remains relatively dry year-round. If you prefer fewer tourists and lower prices, November and March offer excellent conditions with slightly fewer visitors.
April through August brings cooler weather and lower accommodation rates. Winter months (June-August) average 10°C-15°C (50°F-59°F), making outdoor activities uncomfortable for some travelers. However, winter offers the clearest skies and unique wildlife behavior as animals congregate near water sources.
Book your 2027 visit now to secure preferred dates. September and October fill up quickly due to ideal weather conditions. Booking 3-6 months in advance typically saves 15-20% on package prices compared to last-minute reservations.
Standard Walvis Bay beach holiday packages include beachfront accommodation with ocean views, daily breakfast, and at least one guided activity per day. Most packages feature the famous Sandwich Harbour beach safari, where guides navigate the narrow strip of land between the Atlantic Ocean and sand dunes while spotting seals and shorebirds [1].
Meals vary by package tier. Budget packages include breakfast only, while mid-range options add lunch and dinner at lodge restaurants. Premium packages offer à la carte dining options and meals at specialty restaurants in Walvis Bay town. Drinks and alcohol are typically extra unless specified as all-inclusive.
Most packages include these core activities: Sandwich Harbour beach safari (full day, N$250-N$350), morning birdwatching tours (N$150-N$200), and evening coastal walks. Many operators add boat cruises to view seals and dolphins, flamingo photography sessions, and visits to the Walvis Bay Lagoon.
Optional add-ons available through your operator include desert safaris into the Namib, visits to nearby Solitaire for adventure activities, and day trips to Lüderitz for historical exploration. Many travelers combine beach packages with a multi-day Namibia safari itinerary that includes Etosha and Sossusvlei.
Most packages include airport transfer from Windhoek to Walvis Bay (4-hour drive). Some premium packages offer flights instead of ground transfers, reducing travel time to 1 hour. All package prices cover in-destination transportation for included activities. Car rental and self-drive options are available separately for travelers wanting more independence.
Travel insurance and visa arrangements are typically not included. Operators recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and baggage loss. Most international travelers to Namibia need visas arranged before arrival.

Bring sun protection including high-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat. The Atlantic coast gets intense sun despite cooler temperatures. Pack layers for temperature changes between day and evening, and bring waterproof gear for boat activities.

"Tongesai was recommended to me by a friend who also booked his amazing safari through Cultural Vibes; I am glad we took his recommendation. Our safari across Victoria Falls and Botswana was top notch. Tongesai booked us in all of the best camps and with the best safari outfitters. Our excursions were extremely well planned and full of excitement. The restaurants were fantastic as well. Personally, I love planning my own vacations but honestly don't think there is an easy and reliable way to plan an African safari without using a travel agent very familiar with the region. Located in Zimbabwe and with a travel and tourism background, Tongesai was able to coordinate our stays between 5 safari camps which included private charter flights across the regions. He also personally escorted us into Botswana and helped with border crossing which was very helpful as well. Compared to larger companies, Tongesai's package rates were more reasonable and came with a customized touch. I highly recommend Cultural Vibes to anyone looking to go on safari in Zimbabwe and its bordering countries (Botswana, Zambia & Namibia). Thanks, T!"

"We were amazing group of 4 adults from Atlanta USA. Upon arrival we found our guide Stuart Muronga already waiting for us. He picked us up in a well air-conditioned vehicle and offered us water at soft drinks. Before going to check in we drove around the beautiful city . After checking in he dropped us off at the famous Boma restaurant..we had an amazing experience there over delicious meals and drums and dance. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The next morning he picked us up for out safari experience in Chobe which is in Botswana just an hour drive from Vic Falls. We spent 6 hrs there then drove another 40 or so minutes to some island in Namibia. Stuart was so knowledgeable with great communication skills which made the whole experience so smooth and fun."

"I would like to note an excellent organisation of this tour. In advance Kubwa Five Safaris created whats app groupe for me so I had contacts of people who assisted me during my travel. I was picked up at the airport. My guide was waiting for me. The accommodations chosen for this trip were correct, clean with good service. The choice of restaurants corresponded the rate of this tour. We visited wonderfull places with beautiful landscapes, I enjoyed game drive and visit of Etosha parc. My driver was a professional guide, so I had explanations on historical events, culture, geology, flore and faune of the sites that we visited. Kubwa Five Safaris chose reliable partners in Namibia, that made my trip safe and I would like to thank them for that."

"Our trip around Namibia was booked through Kubwa Five Safaris, main contact was Sylvia (from their sister company Ompo Travel). Everything was organised perfectly, Sylvia listened to our needs and constantly adapted the trip according to our (many) changes of mind, to ensure we could get the best out of it, both in terms of things to do and accommodations where to stay; but she also added her local know-how to advise our decisions on what really worth seeing and what to skip (given the limited time of two weeks). She was also very responsive, both prior the trip as well as during the trip, taking immediate action if needed (only once, due to a misunderstanding on the check-out from a lodge). Namibia is an amazing place with plenty of wilderness and photo opportunities, and we have enjoyed it fully!"
