A 14-day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar trip can combine eight safari days with six beach days, creating one holiday from wildlife to white sand. [2]
Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages from the UK combine northern Tanzania wildlife viewing with a Zanzibar beach stay. In 2026, listed prices start at £5,220 per person for a 9-day northern Tanzania safari and reach £11,995 for a 12-day luxury Migration safari. [3] A 14-day option is best for travelers who want time for both safari and the coast.
Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Packages From the UK are combined holidays that join a wildlife tour with a coastal stay. Most routes focus on northern Tanzania, then move to Zanzibar for beaches, spice history and rest. Audley lists a classic 9-day northern Tanzania safari from £5,220 per person. Its luxury 12-day Northern Migration safari starts at £11,995 per person. [3]
Tanzania is a strong choice when you want one trip with two clear moods. The safari brings early starts, game drives and changing landscapes. Zanzibar then offers slower days beside the Indian Ocean. Some packages include flights and many meals, while others price international travel separately. Always compare the full itinerary, not only the headline rate.
Quick answer: Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages from the UK usually work best over 10 to 14 days. A seven-day plan can include four safari days and two beach days, with a flight from the Serengeti to Zanzibar in one listed example. [6] Longer trips allow more game drives and a calmer island stay.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Use the marketplace to compare route length, accommodation, transport and meal plans before you request a quote. This guide explains the package types, current example prices and practical steps for planning in 2026.
Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages usually combine three parts: a safari, a transfer to the coast and a Zanzibar stay. The exact package is defined by its inclusions. International flights, park fees, private guiding, internal flights, accommodation and meals can each change the final price.
Northern Tanzania safari routes often include Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. A listed seven-night road safari visits all three areas, starting and ending in Arusha. [7] This route suits travelers who want a classic circuit without adding a separate beach extension.
Serengeti National Park is the main draw for many visitors. Known for: open plains, game drives and Migration-focused itineraries. Ngorongoro Crater is known for its dramatic enclosed landscape and links to human history. Newmarket highlights the crater and Olduvai Gorge in its Tanzania and Zanzibar holiday description. [1]
Zanzibar provides the beach half of the journey. A supplied 14-day combination package includes eight safari days and six Zanzibar beach days. [2] That split gives you enough time for wildlife viewing, travel between regions and several unplanned beach mornings.
Some itineraries use a direct flight from the Serengeti to Zanzibar. One seven-day example includes four safari days, two beach days and that internal flight. [6] This design reduces road travel after the safari. It also helps travelers protect valuable holiday time.
All-inclusive does not mean the same thing across every operator. One supplied package group includes flights from Zurich, internal flights, accommodation, guide services and many meals. It does not state UK departure pricing. [2] Therefore, UK travelers must ask whether the quotation includes flights from London, Manchester, Edinburgh or another airport.
SafariFind can help you compare these details before you commit. Compare Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages with verified operators by duration, price and traveler reviews.
A safari in Tanzania typically costs from £5,220 per person for a listed 9-day classic northern route. Luxury and Migration-focused trips cost more. Audley lists a 12-day luxury northern Tanzania Migration safari from £11,995 per person. [3] These figures show package examples, not a universal UK market price.
The clearest way to compare Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages is to place duration and inclusions beside price. The table below uses supplied 2026 examples. Ratings were not provided in the research data, so no rating has been added.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic northern Tanzania safari | From £5,220 per person | 9 days | Not supplied | First-time safari travelers |
| Luxury northern Migration safari | From £11,995 per person | 12 days | Not supplied | Luxury and Migration travel |
| Rwanda and Tanzania itinerary | From £9,590 per person | 12 days | Not supplied | Travelers adding gorilla viewing |
| Zanzibar combination package | CHF 6,790–CHF 9,990 | 14 days | Not supplied | Safari plus extended beach time |
The 14-day Zanzibar combination prices equal about $7,600 to $11,200, according to the supplied source. [2] Those packages include eight safari days and six Zanzibar days. However, the source gives Zurich departure details rather than UK departure pricing. Treat the figures as a useful comparison point, not a UK quote.
Season, lodge level, trip length and flight arrangements affect the total. Private 4x4 travel usually gives more control than a shared vehicle. Beach room type also matters. A simple Zanzibar hotel and a private villa serve different budgets.
Use our guide to Tanzania safari costs and daily rates by park and operator when building your budget. Then Request a quote from verified Tanzania safari operators and ask each company to show every included cost.
The best safari Tanzania and Zanzibar itinerary gives you at least four safari days and two beach days. A 10-day plan balances travel time with wildlife viewing. A 14-day plan feels less rushed and supports eight safari days plus six nights on Zanzibar, as shown in supplied package data. [2][6]
A seven-day itinerary suits travelers with limited holiday time. One example includes four safari days, two beach days and a Serengeti-to-Zanzibar flight. [6] It offers a quick taste of both regions. However, it leaves less room for delays, extra game drives or long beach stays.
A 10-day route works well for couples and first-time visitors. You can spend five or six days on safari, then use four days for Zanzibar. This plan adds flexibility without reaching the cost of a long luxury trip. Ask whether the operator uses a road transfer or an internal flight.
A 14-day route gives the strongest balance between wildlife and rest. One package format includes eight safari days and six Zanzibar beach days. [2] A longer safari also lets you visit more than one park. The supplied road safari example includes Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater. [7]
Families should check drive times and room layouts before booking. Photographers should ask about vehicle access, charging points and time at sightings. Couples may prefer fewer camps and longer stays. Your ideal Tanzania safari field guide begins with your travel style, not only the destination list.
The best time of year for wildlife viewing in Serengeti depends on your target experience and budget. Migration-focused packages use specific seasonal planning, while low-season travel can reduce crowd pressure and price. One supplied Tanzania itinerary identifies April as low season. [6] Ask operators for the exact seasonal reason behind each rate.
Migration travelers should choose an itinerary described as a Migration safari. Audley lists a 12-day luxury northern Tanzania Migration safari from £11,995 per person. [3] The word “Migration” signals a more focused route, but you should still ask which areas and dates the itinerary covers.
Budget travelers may consider low-season dates. The supplied seven-day pricing source identifies April as low season. [6] Low-season travel can suit people who value a lower rate or a quieter plan. Confirm road conditions, lodge closures and daily game-drive plans before paying a deposit.
Newmarket’s Tanzania holiday information includes Ngorongoro Crater and Olduvai Gorge. [1] These places add landscape and history to a wildlife trip. Therefore, a good northern Tanzania safari guide should explain both animal viewing and cultural or geological stops.
Do not choose dates from a single calendar alone. The safari region and Zanzibar can feel different during the same holiday. Ask for a day-by-day weather note, packing advice and a plan for travel disruption. Your operator should explain how it handles a missed internal flight.
Book a multi-day safari in Tanzania online by comparing the route, inclusions, operator reviews and cancellation terms. Start with a clear trip length and budget. Then request two or three written quotes that show flights, accommodation, meals, park fees and transfers as separate lines.
SafariFind helps travelers compare verified operators and read authentic reviews from previous guests. Look for clear names, full itineraries and responsive quote details. Do not judge a package only by its lowest starting price. A cheaper plan may exclude flights, park fees or Zanzibar transfers.
Vaccinations and health advice depend on your medical history and route. Speak with a travel clinic well before departure. You can also review the practical guidance in our article on vaccinations and health rules for Tanzania, then confirm advice with a qualified clinician.
Pack light, breathable clothing, closed walking shoes, sun protection and a light layer for cool mornings. Add binoculars, spare camera batteries and a small day bag. For a 10-day safari, use soft luggage if the operator sets a strict aircraft limit. Ask before bringing hard-sided cases.
UK travelers should check current entry rules through the official Tanzanian authorities and their airline. Package sellers can explain their process, but travelers remain responsible for valid documents. Keep passport, insurance details, confirmations and emergency contacts in both paper and digital form.
Tanzania is best for travelers who want a northern safari circuit combined with Zanzibar. A Kenya and Tanzania safari can add two countries, but it also adds border planning and travel time. South Africa offers a different style, often with more lodge and road-access choices. Your decision should follow the wildlife route and beach goal.
Choose Tanzania when Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar form the main dream. Choose South Africa when you prefer a different national-park setting or a trip built around another regional plan. The supplied Tanzania sources specifically feature Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro routes. [1][7]
A combined Kenya and Tanzania safari suits travelers who want a broader East African journey. It needs more planning than a single-country route. Ask about border crossings, vehicle changes, internal flights and the number of nights in each park. Then compare that plan with a simpler Tanzania and Zanzibar package.
Luxury lodge quality depends on the property and operator, not only the country. The supplied research confirms a luxury Migration itinerary from Audley at £11,995 per person for 12 days. [3] It does not provide individual lodge names or ratings. Ask for the full lodge list and verified reviews before booking.
A safari in Tanzania typically costs from £5,220 per person for a listed 9-day classic northern Tanzania safari. A listed 12-day luxury Migration safari starts at £11,995 per person. [3] Final prices depend on flights, lodging, park fees, travel dates and meal inclusions.
Affordable Tanzania safari packages with flights included must be compared by their full inclusions. The supplied 14-day combination packages include flights from Zurich, internal flights, accommodation, guides and many meals, but they do not state UK departure pricing. [2] Request a UK-specific quote before comparing totals.
The best time of year for wildlife viewing in Serengeti depends on your target wildlife experience and budget. Migration-focused trips use planned dates, while one supplied itinerary identifies April as low season. [6] Ask the operator to explain sightings, weather and route conditions for your dates.
A 10-day safari packing list should include light clothing, closed shoes, sun protection, binoculars, camera batteries and a warm layer. Use soft luggage when small aircraft are involved. Confirm the operator’s baggage limit before departure, because internal flights may restrict case size and weight.
Book a multi-day safari in Tanzania online by comparing verified operators, written inclusions, cancellation terms and authentic reviews. Choose your route first, then request quotes for seven, 10 or 14 days. SafariFind helps you compare Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages and contact verified tour operators.
Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages from the UK offer a clear two-part holiday: wildlife in northern Tanzania and rest on Zanzibar. Listed 2026 examples range from £5,220 for a 9-day classic safari to £11,995 for a 12-day luxury Migration trip. [3] A 14-day plan can include eight safari days and six beach days. [2]
Start by choosing your trip length, travel style and wildlife goal. A seven-day itinerary suits a short break. A 10-day plan adds balance. A 14-day route gives you the most space for game drives and beach time. Check flights, park fees, luggage limits and health advice before booking.

"Exceeded expectations and then some!!! From the planning stages to the final airport drop off, Kiliholidays was there supporting us every step of the way! For some situational awareness, earlier this year my friend and I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of doing a safari in Tanzania. So there we were, two American women with no real knowledge of what this trip would entail, preparing to make a substantial investment in ourselves and our dream trip. Neither of us knew anyone who'd done a safari so we made up our own rules when it came to planning. Kiliholidays met all of our search criteria but it was the quality of communication that we had with Mack that had us convinced very quickly that we'd found our tour group. We were not wrong. Kiliholidays took care of us every step of the way and for two women traveling alone in unfamiliar territory, it's a big deal to feel safe. We felt very safe with this team, and what an experience we had!!! Steve our tour operator was fantastic! Not only was the safari absolutely incredible regarding the animals we saw, but we met people, we had amazing food thanks to Chef D, and we just had a ton of fun. When we weren't in complete awe at the beauty that surrounded us, or learning lessons that we could have never picked up on the Discovery Channel, we were laughing and exchanging stories, and generally just enjoying the thrill of the adventure. I can say that after this trip I finally understood what people mean when they talk about the bucket list. I've traveled a lot, all over the world, and I've never had an experience like this. We are already talking about another tour in the future! Thank you Mack, Steve and Chef D for bringing a dream we've had for a long time into reality!"

"PERFECT! That’s how I can describe the safari we made with Kiliholidays in August. I was travelling with my 19 year old daughter and my 14 year old boy and we were 100% satisfied under all respects. Having limited time and budget, we chose Selous Reserve in the South, because it is only 5 hours by car from Dar-es-Salaam and offers an amazing experience of African wildlife during the dry season. Despite the short notice (few days) Mack, owner and manager of Kili, was quick and efficient in replying (overnight, both by e-mail and Whatsapp) and arranged perfectly our trip, advising us to the best to make the most out of the few days we had at disposal. His price was inclusive of everything and competitive compared to similar proposals found in the web. Our driver and guide Joachim was knowledgeable and always ready to answer our questions about Tanzania and wildlife, definitely an enjoyable company. Food was prepared nicely by cook Daniel, who took our preferences well into account. On the first day we were picked up at the ferry dock from Zanzibar short before 9am, the travel to Selous was itself a worthwhile experience through Tanzanian inland, in particular the last 100 hundred chilometers of dirt road through small villages. Our comfortable 4-wheel private vehicle showed absolutely no problem during the three days and went successfully through several routine police controls. We had a quick lunch in a local restaurant on the way and arrived at Selous Hippo Campsite – a small suggestive campsite outside Selous reserve - right in time for a wonderful sunset boat safari along Rufiji River: two hours among hippos, crocodiles and an amazing birdlife, definitely a plus of this trip. The following day Joachim drove us the full day through Selous Reserve, where we were overwhelmed with an incredibly abundant wildlife: dozens of giraffes, impalas, zebras, gnus, hippos, crocodiles, a few buffalos, lions, etc. They were often very close to our vehicle, which had a pop-up roof allowing us to enjoy all this at the best. Only elephants were difficult to spot on that day, but Joachim and our local guide Amir did not give up searching until we met a nice family including a baby elephant. Accomodation was in a comfortable tent for three persons, Daniel served us breakfast and dinner under a pleasant veranda facing the river. For our day in Selous and the travel back to Dar he prepared tasty lunchboxes. The 2-hour walking safari we had on the last day, accompanied by a local guide and an armed ranger, was really interesting and instructive tour and completed nicely our Selous experience. We left the campsite at around 10 am, as planned. Back in Dar es Salaam, Joachim helped us get our tickets for the ferry back to Zanzibar on the following day and then drove us to a budget lodge he had booked for us as per our request: definitely an attentive complete assistance from the first minute to the very last one! Should we get the chance to come back to Tanzania to visit the parks in the North (we are already dreaming of it), we will surely choose Kiliholidays again."

"Before my trip to Tanzania I mailed many tour oerators to find perfect safari for me and my friend and at the end I decided to book safari with Kiliholidays Tours & Safaris. The communication with Mack was without any problems. After I came to Arusha we met in his office and agreed all details about safari. There weren't any hidden cost and any bad surprises. Our trip went smoothly exactly like in a programme I got before. That was budget safari and we were supposed to join to other tourists but there weren't any other clients so we had private safari and the price didn't change. The service was really good - competent driver/guide and really talented cook. We spent wonderful time and discovered a beauty of Tanzania."

"In June of 2025 I went on my second safari in Tanzania with Kiliholidays, and it was even better than the first! The management took great care and a great deal of time to customize my 6-day safari to meet my needs, which included almost 4 days in the Serengeti. They had the patience to deal with dozens of messages and questions I sent prior to booking, and addressed all of my concerns. They booked us into the Embalakai tented camp in the Serengeti, meaning we were able to stay out on the game drive until it was almost dark. This made for excellent photo opportunities near sunset! Embalakai is a high-quality tented camp with amazing food and friendly staff. I believe that Kiliholidays provides very good to excellent accommodation and safari service at very competitive prices - it's one of the most affordable options out there, short of sleeping in campgrounds (which we did not do). The best part is that our guide and driver, Thomas, is extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and flexible: an all-around good man and a real pleasure to ride with for 6 days! Unless you want to spend thousands of dollars more, go with Kiliholidays and you won't be disappointed."

"My recent safari adventure with Kiliholidays Tours & Safaris was nothing short of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the moment we embarked on our journey, the team ensured that we were well taken care of, providing exceptional service and value for money. Our knowledgeable and skilled guide, Edward, went above and beyond to provide us with an unforgettable wildlife experience. His expertise and passion for wildlife shone through, and I'd rate him 11/10 stars. Not only did he know where to find the most spectacular sightings, but he also shared intriguing stories and facts about the animals we encountered. In addition to our incredible guide, Mr. Mood, our talented cook, made sure our culinary experience was top-notch. As a vegetarian, I was delighted by the variety of delicious dishes he prepared, especially his signature fresh onion soup. It's evident that he takes great pride in his work, ensuring that every meal was not only tasty but also nourishing. Before our trip, we communicated with Mack from Kiliholidays, who was extremely responsive and helpful on both WhatsApp and email. The itinerary he crafted was professionally designed and visually captivating, making it worthy of Instagram. Mack also offered us a fantastic price for the trip, making it 100% worth every penny. The entire journey was well-planned and executed seamlessly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the Tanzanian experience. Overall, I highly recommend Kiliholidays Tours & Safaris for anyone looking to experience the magic of Tanzania. Their commitment to excellence in communications, service, value for money, and reliability is unparalleled. Don't miss out on the opportunity to embark on this unforgettable adventure!"
