Guided small-group trips start near £5,285 per person, while a 14-night package with flights and breakfast starts at £3,163. Swakopmund works best as a coastal stop within a wider Namibia itinerary, linking Walvis Bay, Sossusvlei, and Etosha.
Swakopmund beach holiday packages in 2027 combine Atlantic coast views with Namibia’s desert landscapes. The town sits between the Namib Desert and the wild Atlantic, making it a practical base for coastal tours and inland routes [8]. You can add Swakopmund to a self-drive holiday, join a guided group, or choose a package with flights and breakfast.
The key choice is simple: do you want freedom, comfort, or a wider safari route? A 12-day self-drive itinerary starts from £1,985. Guided small-group options start near £5,285 per person. A 14-night holiday package with flights and breakfast starts from £3,163 per person [3][4][5].
Quick answer: Swakopmund beach holiday packages in 2027 start from £1,985 for self-drive travel. Choose a 12-day route for a focused Namibia trip, or extend to 21 days for Etosha, the Okavango Delta, Chobe, and Victoria Falls. Compare inclusions carefully because flights, meals, guides, and activities differ.
This guide explains the main routes, listed prices, travel styles, and planning steps. It also shows how Swakopmund fits into a larger Namibia safari holiday. Prices reflect advertised information available for 2027 planning as of August 2026.
Swakopmund beach holiday packages in 2027 are planned trips that place a coastal stay inside a wider Namibia holiday. They can include accommodation, flights, breakfast, a rental vehicle, guided travel, or selected excursions. The town gives travelers a different setting from Etosha’s wildlife areas and Sossusvlei’s desert dunes.
Swakopmund is known for its cool coastal climate, beaches, German colonial architecture, and position between desert and ocean [6][8]. The town suits travelers who want a slower break after long road days. It also creates a useful base for Walvis Bay and nearby desert activities.
Walvis Bay Lagoon is a protected area with many water birds, including migratory greater and lesser flamingoes [1]. A 2027 Southern Africa Odyssey itinerary includes a Walvis Bay Lagoon tour and leisure time in Swakopmund [1]. This gives visitors a clear example of how the coast can add nature and free time to a group journey.
Self-drive routes are best for independent travelers who enjoy road travel. Guided tours are best for visitors who prefer local knowledge and a planned schedule. Flight-inclusive packages are best for travelers who want fewer booking tasks.
Compare 2027 Swakopmund beach holiday packages and route options
Swakopmund changes the rhythm of a Namibia safari. Inland parks focus on wildlife drives, while the coast offers ocean views, town walks, lagoon trips, and time away from the vehicle. Therefore, a coastal stop can make a long itinerary feel more balanced.
The town also connects well with popular desert and wildlife areas listed in SafariFind’s Namibia catalog. Travelers can pair Swakopmund with the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Deadvlei, or Etosha National Park.
Swakopmund beach holiday packages in 2027 range from £1,985 for a listed 12-day self-drive route to about £5,285 for guided small-group travel. A 14-night flight-inclusive package with breakfast starts at £3,163 per person. These are advertised starting prices, so check dates, room types, and included services before paying.

| Guided Small-Group Namibia Option | From £5,285 | Not provided | Not provided | Travelers wanting a guide [3] |

| Great Trans African Lodge Safari | From £5,320 | 21 days | Not provided | Multi-country safari travelers [5] |
The 12-day self-drive option has the lowest listed starting price. The 21-day Great Trans African Lodge Safari costs from £5,320 and includes Windhoek, Swakopmund, Etosha National Park, the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, and Victoria Falls [5]. It suits travelers who want a broad southern African route.
Package prices depend on the number of nights, travel style, and included transport. A self-drive quote may separate vehicle hire, fuel, park fees, activities, and hotels. A guided package may include a driver-guide, transfers, meals, and planned excursions.
A Harvard Alumni itinerary includes Swakopmund leisure time and a Walvis Bay Lagoon tour in 2027 [1]. An Africa by Private Jet itinerary schedules Swakopmund on day six, followed by a flight to Sossusvlei on March 18, 2027 [7]. These examples show why route design can affect cost as much as hotel choice.

The best Swakopmund route depends on your total trip length and travel goal. A 12-day self-drive route offers a focused Namibia circuit. A 21-day lodge safari adds several major destinations across southern Africa. A private-jet itinerary uses Swakopmund as a short, high-comfort stop before Sossusvlei.
The 12-day self-drive route is the clearest value option, starting from £1,985 [3][5]. It is designed for travelers who want to drive between Namibia’s main highlights. The listed Namibian Highlights itinerary includes Okonjima, Etosha, Twyfelfontein, Swakopmund, and Sossusvlei [5].
This route works well when you want wildlife, desert scenery, and a coastal break in one holiday. Plan extra time for road conditions and fuel stops. Read the guide to Namibia self-drive safari routes from Windhoek before choosing a rental plan.
The Great Trans African Lodge Safari lasts 21 days and starts from £5,320 [5]. Its route includes Windhoek, Swakopmund, Etosha National Park, the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, and Victoria Falls. This option is best for travelers who want one long journey across several famous regions.
The route covers more countries and landscapes than a standard Namibia holiday. It also requires more time away from home and a larger budget. Travelers should compare border plans, flights, accommodation, and activity inclusions before booking.
Swakopmund and Sossusvlei form a strong desert-and-coast pairing. The Africa by Private Jet itinerary places Swakopmund on day six and schedules a flight to Sossusvlei on March 18, 2027 [7]. This route suits visitors who value speed, comfort, and fixed travel dates.
For a road-based version, add the Solitaire stop and the Naukluft Mountains to your planning list. These links help you compare the desert portion with the coastal part of your holiday.
Walvis Bay and Swakopmund create a short coastal route for travelers who want lagoon scenery and town time. The Walvis Bay Lagoon supports water birds and migratory flamingoes [1]. A guided lagoon visit can add wildlife viewing without taking you deep into a national park.
Families may prefer this route because it reduces long inland drives. Couples may choose it for a relaxed coastal stay. Visitors seeking more adventure can connect the coast with Brandberg or other desert areas.
Start by choosing your travel style, then match the route to your available days. Select self-drive for flexibility, guided travel for support, or a flight-inclusive package for convenience. Next, confirm the 2027 dates, inclusions, visa rules, and transfer plans.
Americans and Canadians are advised to budget N$1,600, or about US$90, for a Namibia entry visa [2]. Check the current application process before travel because entry rules can change. Your passport validity, flight route, and nationality may affect the documents you need.
Book early when your route includes fixed 2027 departures. The Africa by Private Jet itinerary has a dated Swakopmund-to-Sossusvlei movement on March 18, 2027 [7]. Fixed dates make early confirmation more important than flexible self-drive travel.
Compare the number of nights in Swakopmund, the distance between stops, and the activities included. A lower price may exclude flights or guided tours. A higher price may include transport, meals, and several national park visits.
Read the Namibia safari package cost guide to place your coastal stay within a complete trip budget. You can also compare Namibia beach resorts and tours before selecting Swakopmund.
SafariFind helps you compare tour operators, packages, and traveler feedback in one place. A clear quote makes it easier to see whether a £1,985 self-drive trip or a £5,285 guided trip suits your plans.

"Tongesai was recommended to me by a friend who also booked his amazing safari through Cultural Vibes; I am glad we took his recommendation. Our safari across Victoria Falls and Botswana was top notch. Tongesai booked us in all of the best camps and with the best safari outfitters. Our excursions were extremely well planned and full of excitement. The restaurants were fantastic as well. Personally, I love planning my own vacations but honestly don't think there is an easy and reliable way to plan an African safari without using a travel agent very familiar with the region. Located in Zimbabwe and with a travel and tourism background, Tongesai was able to coordinate our stays between 5 safari camps which included private charter flights across the regions. He also personally escorted us into Botswana and helped with border crossing which was very helpful as well. Compared to larger companies, Tongesai's package rates were more reasonable and came with a customized touch. I highly recommend Cultural Vibes to anyone looking to go on safari in Zimbabwe and its bordering countries (Botswana, Zambia & Namibia). Thanks, T!"

"We were amazing group of 4 adults from Atlanta USA. Upon arrival we found our guide Stuart Muronga already waiting for us. He picked us up in a well air-conditioned vehicle and offered us water at soft drinks. Before going to check in we drove around the beautiful city . After checking in he dropped us off at the famous Boma restaurant..we had an amazing experience there over delicious meals and drums and dance. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The next morning he picked us up for out safari experience in Chobe which is in Botswana just an hour drive from Vic Falls. We spent 6 hrs there then drove another 40 or so minutes to some island in Namibia. Stuart was so knowledgeable with great communication skills which made the whole experience so smooth and fun."

"I would like to note an excellent organisation of this tour. In advance Kubwa Five Safaris created whats app groupe for me so I had contacts of people who assisted me during my travel. I was picked up at the airport. My guide was waiting for me. The accommodations chosen for this trip were correct, clean with good service. The choice of restaurants corresponded the rate of this tour. We visited wonderfull places with beautiful landscapes, I enjoyed game drive and visit of Etosha parc. My driver was a professional guide, so I had explanations on historical events, culture, geology, flore and faune of the sites that we visited. Kubwa Five Safaris chose reliable partners in Namibia, that made my trip safe and I would like to thank them for that."

"Our trip around Namibia was booked through Kubwa Five Safaris, main contact was Sylvia (from their sister company Ompo Travel). Everything was organised perfectly, Sylvia listened to our needs and constantly adapted the trip according to our (many) changes of mind, to ensure we could get the best out of it, both in terms of things to do and accommodations where to stay; but she also added her local know-how to advise our decisions on what really worth seeing and what to skip (given the limited time of two weeks). She was also very responsive, both prior the trip as well as during the trip, taking immediate action if needed (only once, due to a misunderstanding on the check-out from a lodge). Namibia is an amazing place with plenty of wilderness and photo opportunities, and we have enjoyed it fully!"
