Pilanesberg safari day tours start at ZAR 1,610, while 2027 lodge rates reach R7,100 per unit.
Pilanesberg Game Reserve Safari Packages 2027: Prices range from ZAR 1,610 for a shared or night game drive to R7,100 per unit for selected Half Board Plus lodge dates. Multi-day tour listings start at $2,799. May to August offers a listed Kwa Maritane rate of R5,613 per unit, making it a useful period for value-focused planning. [3][4][5]
Pilanesberg Game Reserve Safari Packages 2027: Prices cover several travel styles. You can choose a three-hour shared drive, a private drive, a night safari, a lodge stay, or a longer South Africa tour. The right choice depends on your time, group size, meal plan, and transfer needs.
Pilanesberg Game Reserve is a practical safari choice for travelers who want a short wildlife break. Listed tours include a pre-sunrise drive that searches for the Big Five across marshlands and rocky landscapes. The same itinerary may add an afternoon game drive and a sundowner experience. [1]
Known for: Big Five-focused drives, short game-viewing experiences, lodge stays, and access from the Sun City area. The reserve also works well as one stop on a wider South Africa route.
Best for: Travelers with limited time, families seeking a simple safari plan, couples combining wildlife with a resort stay, and visitors who do not want a long internal transfer between parks.
Price labels are not identical across Pilanesberg safari packages. A day-tour price may include transfers and a game drive, while a lodge price may show accommodation and meals. A multi-day package may add transport, guiding, park access, and other services.
For example, a listed three-hour shared game drive costs ZAR 1,610 with transfers included. A private three-hour drive costs ZAR 5,500 with transfers included. These prices show why you should compare inclusions, not only the headline amount. [4]
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Compare Pilanesberg safari packages for 2027 before requesting a quote.
Pilanesberg Game Reserve suits short trips, but it is not the only South Africa safari option. The Kruger National Park often appears in longer routes. Sabi Sand Game Reserve is another option for travelers comparing private-reserve stays.
Travelers who want KwaZulu-Natal can also compare Phinda Private Game Reserve and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve. Each destination creates a different route and budget. Read SafariFind operator profiles and reviews before choosing your final plan.
Pilanesberg safari costs in 2027 start at ZAR 1,610 for listed shared or night-drive options. A private three-hour drive costs ZAR 5,500, while lodge prices range from R5,613 to R7,100 per unit on listed dates. Longer tour packages start at $2,799. [3][4][5]
These prices use South African rand and United States dollars. They are not direct equivalents because each listing covers a different product. A day tour is shorter than a lodge stay, and a multi-day itinerary may include several destinations.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |

Source prices come from listed products and do not create one fixed park-wide rate. Shared drives, private drives, lodge rooms, and full itineraries serve different needs. Confirm the final 2027 quote, currency, occupancy, taxes, meals, and transfer details with the operator before paying.
Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge lists Half Board Plus at R7,100 per unit from January 1 to April 30, 2027. The same listing shows R5,613 per unit from May 1 to August 31, 2027. It returns to R7,100 per unit from September 1 to December 31, 2027. [3]
That listed difference is R1,487 per unit. Therefore, May through August is the clearest value window in this source. Check whether the rate covers the number of guests in your unit. “Per unit” does not mean “per person.”
Tambuti Game Lodge lists a last-minute rate of R4,230 per person per night sharing, against a normal rate of R6,485. The special requires booking and travel within 14 days and applies to SADC travelers. [2]
Black Rhino Game Lodge lists a last-minute rate of R4,600 per person per night sharing, against a normal rate of R5,800. The offer requires booking and travel within 21 days. [2]
Last-minute offers reward flexible travelers, but they do not guarantee your preferred date. Compare 2027 Pilanesberg packages by price and duration to find a suitable option before availability changes.
For wider budgeting, read SafariFind’s South Africa safari cost breakdown for 2027. It helps you separate daily safari costs from accommodation, transport, and route costs.
The best Pilanesberg safari package depends on your schedule and privacy needs. Choose a shared drive at ZAR 1,610 for a low-cost introduction. Choose the ZAR 5,500 private drive for a more personal outing. Choose a lodge package when meals, sleep, and game drives matter most. [3][4]
A shared game drive is the simplest entry point. The listed three-hour option costs ZAR 1,610 and includes transfers. It suits solo travelers, couples, and groups who want a short activity without booking a whole vehicle.
Ask the operator about pick-up times, vehicle size, park fees, and drive length. A low headline price is useful only when the listed inclusions match your plan. Also ask whether transfers cover your exact hotel.
A private three-hour game drive costs ZAR 5,500 in the listed day-tour data. Transfers are included in that listing. Private drives suit families, photographers, and travelers who want more control over departure time and stops. [4]
Divide the price by the number of guests before comparing it with a shared tour. A private vehicle can offer better value for a larger group. It can also reduce the need to follow another group’s schedule.
Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge’s Half Board Plus rate is R5,613 per unit from May through August 2027. The listed rate is R7,100 per unit during January to April and September to December. This option suits travelers who want accommodation and meals in one booking. [3]
Confirm what “Half Board Plus” includes before booking. Ask about breakfast, dinner, drinks, activities, game drives, and transfers. These details affect the true cost of a Pilanesberg safari.
Longer itineraries suit travelers who want more than one stop. TourRadar lists Pilanesberg tours from $2,799. The price is a starting figure, so check the exact duration, destinations, accommodation level, and inclusions. [5]
South Africa routes may include a city stay, a private reserve, or another national park. Travelers comparing routes can read SafariFind’s guide to which part of South Africa is best for safari in 2027. It provides a useful planning frame before you choose one reserve.
Known for: Pilanesberg works well for compact itineraries. Best for: Travelers who want a flexible safari near a resort base. Price range: ZAR 1,610 for a listed short tour to $2,799 for a longer package.
SafariFind lets you compare tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews in one marketplace. Request a quote from verified Pilanesberg tour operators when you know your dates and group size.
Start by choosing your travel dates, tour length, and preferred activity. Then compare shared, private, lodge, and multi-day options. For 2027, use the listed May to August lodge rate as a value benchmark, and confirm every quote because rates and availability can change.
Decide whether you want a quick wildlife activity or a full safari stay. A three-hour drive works for a tight schedule. A lodge booking gives you more time around the reserve. A longer itinerary suits travelers adding other South Africa destinations.
May 1 to August 31, 2027 has the lowest listed Kwa Maritane Half Board Plus rate at R5,613 per unit. January to April and September to December show R7,100 per unit. These are listed lodge rates, not a promise of lower wildlife sightings or guaranteed availability. [3]
Flexible travelers can also check last-minute specials. Tambuti requires booking and travel within 14 days. Black Rhino requires booking and travel within 21 days. Both offers have clear booking limits, so they suit travelers who can move quickly. [2]
Listed Pilanesberg day tours include transfers, and one night safari starts from Sun City. Confirm the exact pickup area, return time, and vehicle type. Ask whether a transfer applies to your hotel or only selected properties. [4]
Travelers arriving through Durban should check the full route before adding Pilanesberg. Travelers building a wider northern route can compare Mapungubwe National Park or other destinations in the SafariFind catalog.
Use clear images that show the actual experience. Suggested alt text includes “Pilanesberg safari vehicle at sunrise,” “private game drive in Pilanesberg,” and “Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge safari stay.” Accurate alt text helps users understand images when they cannot view them.
For a longer route, compare the Kruger National Park safari packages for 2027 with Pilanesberg options. The comparison can show whether you need a short reserve visit or a full park itinerary.
A safari in South Africa can start at ZAR 1,610 for a listed Pilanesberg shared or night tour. A private three-hour drive is listed at ZAR 5,500, while longer Pilanesberg tour packages start at $2,799. Lodge prices depend on dates, occupancy, meals, and included activities. [4][5]
Pilanesberg safari packages in 2027 range from ZAR 1,610 for listed short tours to R7,100 per unit for selected lodge dates. A longer tour listing starts at $2,799. These products have different durations and inclusions, so compare the full quote rather than the headline price. [3][4][5]
The cheapest listed Pilanesberg options cost ZAR 1,610. This price applies to a three-hour shared game drive and a night safari from Sun City, with transfers included in the day-tour listings. Confirm pickup details and inclusions before booking. [4]
Pilanesberg is best for a short safari close to the Sun City area, while Kruger National Park and private reserves suit longer or more specialized routes. Your best choice depends on trip length, budget, accommodation style, and the number of destinations you want to visit.
Book after confirming your dates, group size, and preferred room type. May through August has the lowest listed Kwa Maritane rate at R5,613 per unit. Last-minute specials require travel within 14 or 21 days, so they suit flexible travelers rather than fixed plans. [2][3]

"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."
5★ - "This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian org" - Sarah • Verified review
"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."

"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."

"We booked our Zimbabwe trip with Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours following a recommendation from Nhongo Safaris in South Africa. Tongesai is a great communicator, and the booking process was quick, easy, and well organized. We were happy with the quote provided and were able to easily pay online. Tongesai was waiting for us at Victoria Falls Airport to take us to our accommodation. He has arranged an amazing whirlwind 48 hour visit, that was packed with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, Morning Game drive, he accompanied us on an amazing walk of the Victoria falls and arranged an African experience dinner in the evening. It was so memorable, and everything we wanted! Overall, it was an fantastic trip, with a great guide, and we would highly recommend it for anyone considering a trip to Victoria Falls. For our next visit, we will definitely be reaching out to Tongesai and thoroughly recommend to all our friends."
