A Mozambique safari tour can combine African wildlife, island lodges, marine activities, and beach time in one trip. Some 2027 options start at US$3,596 for 11 days, while Benguerra Island lodge rates start near US$490 per person nightly. [3] Compare each route, duration, and operator before you book.
Mozambique safari tours in 2027 range from multi-country trips near US$3,545 to luxury bush-and-beach itineraries above US$10,800 per person. [2][5] Popular routes combine Timbavati or another southern African reserve with Benguerra Island, Bazaruto, or Mozambique’s coast. March 2027 already has listed tour options, so compare availability early.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. This guide uses available 2027 price examples to help you compare safari styles, not just headline rates. You will see the difference between a short luxury add-on, a long overland journey, and a bush-and-beach package.
Mozambique safari tours in 2027 are not one standard product. A trip can focus on game viewing, an island stay, marine activities, or several countries. Therefore, the right package depends on your budget, trip length, comfort level, and preferred route.
Quick answer: The clearest 2027 examples include an 8-night/9-day South Africa–Mozambique journey from US$10,800 per person sharing, a 22-day regional itinerary from US$3,545, and Benguerra lodge rates from US$490 nightly. [2][3][5] Compare inclusions carefully because flights and transfers may differ.
Use this article to shortlist destinations and questions for operators. Then check current availability, room type, transfers, and payment terms. Prices shown here come from research available in August 2026 and should be confirmed for your chosen 2027 dates.
Mozambique safari tours in 2027 are planned journeys that pair Mozambique’s coast or islands with wildlife areas in Mozambique or nearby southern African countries. They range from beach-led packages to luxury combinations with Timbavati. Price depends on duration, lodge level, flights, transfers, and included activities.
Mozambique is best understood as a flexible part of a wider southern Africa trip. A listed 2027 itinerary starts at O.R. Tambo International Airport and finishes at Vilanculos International Airport. It includes four nights at RockFig Safari Lodge in Timbavati and four nights at &Beyond Benguerra Island Lodge. [2]
The South Africa–Mozambique itinerary lasts 8 nights and 9 days. Its listed starting price is US$10,800 per person sharing. The 2027 figure includes an indicative price based partly on a provisional Airlink allowance, so travelers should request a final quote before paying a deposit. [2]
Known for: Mozambique is known in these packages for island stays, marine activities, beach extensions, and access to the Bazaruto Archipelago. Benguerra Island sits within the Bazaruto Archipelago marine reserve, and listed activities include diving, snorkeling, dhow cruises, and catch-and-release fishing. [3]
Mozambique offers several trip-building choices. Island routes often suit travelers who want a beach stay after wildlife viewing.

A low daily price does not always mean a lower total cost. SafariBookings lists Mozambique operator prices from US$77 to US$1,217 per person per day. It also lists an 8-day bush-and-beach safari in Timbavati and Mozambique from US$6,005 per person. [6]
That range shows why you need to check what each quote includes. A package may include accommodation and activities but exclude international flights. Another may include transfers, meals, park costs, and domestic air travel. Always compare the full itinerary rather than the nightly rate alone.
Mozambique safari tour prices in 2027 range from about US$3,545 for a long regional itinerary to US$10,800 for a luxury 8-night/9-day combination. Benguerra Island accommodation alone starts near US$490 per person per night. [2][3][5] These examples show the effect of trip length and lodge style.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| South Africa–Mozambique safari and beach itinerary | From US$10,800 per person sharing [2] | 8 nights / 9 days [2] | Not stated in the source | Luxury wildlife and island travel |
| Benguerra Island lodge stay | From about US$490 per person nightly [3] | Nightly rate | Not stated in the source | Beach, diving, snorkeling, and dhow cruises |
| Zambia–Malawi–Mozambique itinerary | US$3,545–US$3,830, excluding flights [5] | 22 days [5] | Not stated in the source | Long regional adventure |
| Mozambique operator listings | US$77–US$1,217 per person per day [6] | Varies | Varies by operator | Comparing different safari budgets |
| Timbavati and Mozambique bush-and-beach safari | From US$6,005 per person [6] | 8 days [6] | Not stated in the source | Shorter bush-and-beach trips |
Accommodation is one of the biggest price drivers. Benguerra Island rates start near US$490 per person per night, before you compare the wider package. [3] A luxury lodge, private vehicle, premium room, or island transfer can raise the total.
Flights and transfers also matter. The US$10,800 itinerary starts at O.R. Tambo International Airport and ends at Vilanculos International Airport. [2] Its indicative Airlink allowance is provisional for 2027, so the final air cost may change when the operator confirms the booking.
Trip length creates another clear difference. The 22-day regional itinerary costs US$3,545–US$3,830 excluding flights. [5] Its lower total price than the 9-day luxury itinerary does not mean it offers the same lodge level or inclusions. Read the route, transport plan, and meal terms side by side.
SafariBookings’ range of US$77–US$1,217 per person per day shows that operator pricing varies widely. [6] The lowest figure may suit a basic or shorter trip, while the highest can reflect premium lodging and services. Ask for a line-by-line quote with taxes, activities, transfers, and flights clearly marked.
Compare 2027 Vilanculos beach and safari package prices when you want to check island access and beach-stay costs alongside wildlife time.
SafariFind helps you compare tour operators and request quotes using the same questions. That process makes price differences easier to understand and reduces surprises during booking.
The best operator depends on your route, budget, and preferred travel style. SafariBookings lists operators serving Mozambique, including Discover Africa Safaris, which offers an 8-day Timbavati and Mozambique bush-and-beach safari from US$6,005 per person. [6] Use this listing as a comparison point, then check current reviews and inclusions.
Luxury bush and beach: The South Africa–Mozambique itinerary combines four nights in Timbavati with four nights on Benguerra Island. It starts at US$10,800 per person sharing for 8 nights and 9 days. [2] This route suits travelers who want a polished lodge stay and a clear wildlife-to-coast transition.
Mid-range bush and beach: SafariBookings lists an 8-day Timbavati and Mozambique option from US$6,005 per person. [6] This route suits travelers who want a shorter trip than the 22-day regional journey, while still combining game viewing with Mozambique’s coast.
Long regional journey: Responsible Travel lists a Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique itinerary at US$3,545–US$3,830 for 22 days, excluding flights. [5] This option suits travelers who value duration and country variety. It requires more time and careful planning for transfers.
Island-focused travel: Benguerra Island lodge rates start near US$490 per person per night. Listed activities include diving, snorkeling, dhow cruises, and catch-and-release fishing. [3] This choice suits travelers who want marine experiences and beach time more than a long inland safari.
SafariFind lists verified tour operators and authentic reviews to support this research. Compare the operator’s rating, review detail, route knowledge, and response quality. A fast reply is useful, but a clear and complete quote matters more.
Request a quote for Bazaruto Archipelago packages in 2027 if marine activities and an island stay are central to your trip.
Wildlife-first travelers should start with the game-viewing section of the itinerary. Beach-first travelers should study the island lodge, transfer time, and included water activities. Families should ask about room layouts, travel times, age rules, and child-friendly activities before booking.
Couples often compare private transfers, lodge privacy, and island time. Budget-focused travelers should compare daily rates and exclusions. Long-stay travelers may find better value in a multi-country route, but they must allow time for border crossings and transport.
Start planning a Mozambique safari tour by choosing your trip type, target budget, and preferred length. Next, compare two or three operator quotes with identical questions. Finally, confirm flights, transfers, activities, and cancellation terms before you pay.
Pick one of four clear formats: island stay, bush-and-beach trip, luxury South Africa–Mozambique route, or long regional journey. The 2027 examples range from 8 days to 22 days. [2][5][6] Your choice affects the pace, total cost, and number of transfers.
March 2027 already appears in a listed Mozambique tour search, including a Southern Africa Safari: Kruger & Coast option. [1] Treat March as a planning reference rather than a universal best-time claim. Ask each operator about weather, wildlife goals, island conditions, and lodge availability for your exact dates.
Send every operator the same short brief. Include your travel month, group size, room needs, target spend, and preferred activities. State whether you want a private or shared vehicle. This helps operators return quotes that you can compare without guessing.
Review the payment schedule, cancellation policy, travel insurance needs, and price currency. The US$10,800 itinerary uses an indicative 2027 price partly based on a provisional Airlink allowance. [2] Ask how the operator handles airline price changes before you accept that figure.
Check whether the package includes the activities you want. Benguerra Island listings mention diving, snorkeling, dhow cruises, and catch-and-release fishing. [3] Do not assume every package includes all four. Ask about equipment, permits, guide fees, and weather-related changes.
Price is only one part of the decision. Read reviews for communication, airport support, guide skill, room accuracy, and problem solving. SafariFind’s marketplace helps travelers find verified operators and authentic reviews in one place.
Use the SafariFind catalog to compare packages, then request a quote from the operators that match your route. Save the written itinerary and final inclusions. This record gives you a clear reference if the price or schedule changes.
Book only after you understand the full route and total price. A Mozambique safari tour can include several countries, airports, lodges, and transfers. The itinerary should name each night, every major transfer, and all included activities.
Many travelers compare a lodge-only rate with a full safari package. That creates a false saving. Benguerra Island starts near US$490 per person per night, while a full South Africa–Mozambique itinerary starts at US$10,800 per person sharing. [2][3] These prices cover different travel products.
Another mistake is ignoring exclusions. The 22-day Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique itinerary is listed at US$3,545–US$3,830 excluding flights. [5] Ask about flights first. A lower advertised package can require a larger travel budget after airfare and transfers.
Travelers also risk choosing a route without checking activity fit. Island lodges may list diving, snorkeling, dhow cruises, and catch-and-release fishing. [3] If you prefer game drives, confirm how much time the itinerary spends in a wildlife area.
Travelers who want extra beach time can also compare [Bilene holiday costs for 2027](https://safarifind.com/blog/bilene-holiday-costs-2027-hotels-tours-day-trips). Travelers adding a city stop can review [Maputo activities and tour costs](https://safarifind.com/blog/maputo-mozambique-2027-7-things-to-do-tour-costs) before or after a safari.
Good planning does not remove every travel change. It does make the cost and responsibility clear. Ask direct questions, compare like for like, and choose an operator that explains the details.
Mozambique safari tours in 2027 range from US$3,545–US$3,830 for a 22-day regional itinerary, excluding flights, to US$10,800 per person sharing for an 8-night/9-day luxury South Africa–Mozambique itinerary. [2][5] Benguerra Island lodge rates start near US$490 per person per night. [3]
A Mozambique safari tour can last 8 days, 9 days, 11 days, or 22 days, based on available 2027 examples. [2][5][6] Choose a shorter trip for a bush-and-beach break. Choose a longer route if you want several countries and more travel variety.
The 2027 South Africa–Mozambique itinerary lasts 8 nights and 9 days. It includes four nights at RockFig Safari Lodge in Timbavati and four nights at &Beyond Benguerra Island Lodge. The route starts at O.R. Tambo International Airport and finishes at Vilanculos International Airport. [2]
Benguerra Island activities listed for the lodge stay include diving, snorkeling, dhow cruises, and catch-and-release fishing. The island is surrounded by the Bazaruto Archipelago marine reserve. [3] Confirm which activities, equipment, and fees your chosen package includes.
Flights are not included in every Mozambique safari tour price. The 22-day Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique itinerary is listed excluding flights, while the US$10,800 South Africa–Mozambique price uses an indicative 2027 Airlink allowance. [2][5] Ask for flight and transfer costs in writing.

"This is the second time I am writing a review of my experience of traveling with Kikwetu Cultural Adventures. Last year, Ken Benson and his team organized an 80 day custom made safari through 7 African countries for me with such outstanding logistics and customer service throughout the safari, that this year I decided to turn again to Ken and his team to ask for his professional assistance in organizing a half-around-the-world tour for me. I am 71 years old and decided that it was now or never for me to travel to some parts of the world which always have exerted a lot of attraction over me. I communicated to Ken via e-mail my ideas of where I wanted to go and how long I wanted to stay in each place and asked him to arrange flight connection, ground transportation, accommodation, sightseeing, etc. It turned out to be the safari of a lifetime: 31 days and 7500 km by road through rural and religious Ethiopia. One week in Nairobi with visits to museums and galleries, the Sheldrick’s elephant orphanage, a hike through Hell’s Gate close to Naivasha, Kibera slum and a very enjoyable walking tour through down town Nairobi which is especially recommendable on a Sunday. Flight from Nairobi to Nampula and ground transportation to Nacala, Mozambique. From Nacala, I had arranged for a freighter travel to Singapore with a stop over in Mauritius Island, but with three weeks on my hands while waiting for another freighter to come along and take me back home to Mexico across the Indian and the Pacific Ocean, Ken arranged for a 12 day safari in Indonesia, visiting Central and East Java, Sulawesi and Bali, and one week in Malaysia with highlights in Georgetown, Ipoh and Malacca. My journey lasted 122 days and whenever network connections were available, Ken kept track of my travels and was in contact with me and/or the subcontracted provider to make sure, that everything went according to program and schedule. It was a most gratifying experience and I want to thank Ken, Livingstone, Paul and the rest of Kikwetu Cultural Adventures for having made one more of my dreams come true. There is no doubt in my mind that, if you are interested in a truly custom made safari inside Africa and in neighboring countries, Kikwetu Cultural Adventures is the best choice for getting what you are looking for with regard to advice, support, customer service and price."
