New Zealanders travelling directly to Zimbabwe generally do not need a yellow fever certificate, but the certificate is required for eligible travellers arriving from, or transiting for more than 12 hours through, a yellow-fever-risk country. Hepatitis A, typhoid, routine vaccinations and malaria prevention should be discussed with a travel-health professional.

Mozambique Safari Prices 2026: 5 Budgets to Compare range from $180 to more than $2,500 per person per day. Budget safaris cost $180-$250 daily, mid-range trips cost $300-$450, and luxury stays start at $700. Beach activities add about $30-$200 per person. August to December includes several listed 2026 small-group departures.
Mozambique Safari Prices 2026: 5 Budgets to Compare cover everything from simple wildlife trips to high-end island stays. The country combines Gorongosa National Park with the Bazaruto and Quirimbas archipelagos. It also offers beach time around Inhambane and Tofo. Therefore, your final price depends on the mix of parks, islands, lodging, transport, and activities.
Mozambique safari pricing is useful because daily rates show the main cost difference clearly. Budget packages sit at $180-$250 per person each day. Mid-range trips cost $300-$450. Luxury safaris start at $700 and can pass $2,500 daily [2]. These figures help you set a realistic trip limit before requesting quotes.
Quick answer: Mozambique safari prices in 2026 start at $180 per person per day for budget travel. Mid-range trips cost $300-$450 daily, while luxury options start at $700. Gorongosa, Bazaruto, Inhambane, and Quirimbas suit different travel styles. A 22-day small-group itinerary is listed from $2,971 to $3,595, excluding flights [3].
Mozambique is not one single safari product. A Gorongosa visit focuses on wildlife and park access. Bazaruto and Quirimbas focus on islands, boats, beaches, and marine life. Tofo adds snorkeling and diving. This guide compares five practical budget levels, then explains how to build a trip without missing extra costs.

Mozambique safari prices in 2026 fit five useful planning bands: budget wildlife, mid-range safari, luxury safari, island activity, and a long small-group tour. The first three bands describe daily safari costs. The final two show common add-on budgets that change the total cost of a beach or island itinerary.
The $180-$250 daily budget is the lowest listed safari package range for Mozambique [2]. This band suits travelers who want core wildlife or a simple safari base. It may also work for people who spend fewer nights in expensive island lodges and more nights in basic accommodation.
Known for: Lower daily rates and simple trip planning. Best for: Backpackers, couples watching costs, and travelers adding a short park stay to a beach holiday. Price range: $180-$250 per person per day [2].
A five-day stay at this daily rate would equal $900-$1,250 per person before flights and any costs outside the package. That calculation is a planning example, not a quoted SafariFind package price. Ask each operator what the daily rate includes.
The $300-$450 daily budget is the listed mid-range band [2]. This option gives travelers more room to compare lodging, guiding, transport, and location. It is a strong fit for a first Mozambique safari when comfort matters but luxury pricing does not suit the plan.
Known for: A balance between comfort and price. Best for: Families, first-time safari travelers, and couples who want a smoother stay. Price range: $300-$450 per person per day [2].
A five-day mid-range safari equals $1,500-$2,250 per person before flights and separate activities. Combining this level with Bazaruto or Tofo can create a varied trip. However, boat transfers and water activities can raise the final bill.
The $700-plus daily budget is the listed luxury range, and luxury safaris can exceed $2,500 per day [2]. This band suits travelers who place private service, premium lodging, and a high level of comfort above the lowest price.
Known for: High-end safari and beach experiences. Best for: Honeymooners, milestone trips, and travelers seeking premium island stays. Price range: $700 to more than $2,500 per person per day [2].
A five-day luxury plan starts at $3,500 per person using the listed minimum. The final figure depends on the camp, island, transport, and activities. Request a detailed quote rather than comparing only the headline daily price.
The $50-$150 range covers a reported Quirimbas Archipelago boat tour per person [4]. This is an activity budget, not a complete safari price. It shows how an island day can affect a low-cost or mid-range trip.
Known for: Boat-based island exploration. Best for: Beach travelers and safari guests adding a marine experience. Price range: About $50-$150 per person [4].
The $100-$200 range covers a reported Bazaruto Archipelago day trip, including listed trip components [4]. This budget is useful when comparing a park-only itinerary with a safari-and-beach plan. It also helps you separate the cost of a day activity from the cost of accommodation.
Known for: A planned island day around the Bazaruto Archipelago. Best for: Travelers who want wildlife on land and coastal experiences. Price range: About $100-$200 per person [4].
Compare Mozambique safari packages and daily prices on SafariFind to see which verified operators match your budget.
The five budgets serve different purposes. Budget and mid-range rates describe full safari spending bands. Luxury rates describe premium daily travel. Quirimbas and Bazaruto figures describe separate activities, so you should not compare them as complete safari packages.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget wildlife package | $180-$250 per person daily [2] | Set by itinerary | Verify with operator | Cost-conscious safari travelers |
| Mid-range safari package | $300-$450 per person daily [2] | Set by itinerary | Verify with operator | Comfort and value |
| Luxury safari | $700-$2,500+ per person daily [2] | Set by itinerary | Verify with operator | Premium stays and service |
| Quirimbas boat tour | $50-$150 per person [4] | Day activity | Verify with operator | Island exploration |
| Bazaruto day trip | $100-$200 per person [4] | Day trip | Verify with operator | Safari-and-beach travelers |
The listed 22-day South Africa-Mozambique small-group tour costs US$2,971-$3,595, excluding flights [3]. Its published 2026 departure dates include August 8 and 22, September 5 and 19, October 10, November 7, and December 19 [3]. This is a useful comparison for travelers who want a longer route instead of a single park stay.
The 22-day trip averages about $135-$163 per day when you divide the listed price by 22 days. That simple calculation does not change the published package price. It only helps compare a long group route with daily private safari bands.
Gorongosa National Park fits travelers who want a wildlife-first plan. Entrance fees are reported at $10-$20, depending on the season [4]. The fee is only one cost, so you still need to check lodging, guiding, transport, meals, and park activities.
Bazaruto Archipelago and Inhambane fit travelers who want a coastal break. Quirimbas fits travelers who want boat-based island time. Safari-and-beach combinations remain a popular way to join wildlife with Mozambique’s beaches and archipelagos [2].
Use these Mozambique safari tours worth comparing to understand how itinerary design changes the value of each price band.
Request quotes from verified Mozambique safari operators under your target daily budget and compare inclusions before choosing a package. SafariFind lets you review operator profiles and traveler feedback in one place.
Plan a Mozambique safari budget by fixing your daily limit first, then choosing the destination and activities. Start with the $180-$250, $300-$450, or $700-plus safari band. Add separate costs for boats, water sports, park fees, flights, and transfers.
Gorongosa National Park is the clearest choice for a wildlife-led trip. Bazaruto, Inhambane, Tofo, and Quirimbas suit travelers who want beaches or marine activities. A combined route gives more variety, but it also adds transport and activity costs.
Tofo snorkeling and diving activities are reported at about $30-$80 per person [4]. Add this figure when you compare a beach extension with a park-only safari. A $30 activity fits a tight budget; an $80 activity needs more room.
A short safari controls the total cost, while a long group itinerary spreads transport across more days. The listed South Africa-Mozambique trip lasts 22 days and costs US$2,971-$3,595, excluding flights [3]. That option suits travelers who want a broad route and fixed departure dates.
Shorter trips need a closer look at transfer costs. A low daily rate may not produce the lowest total price if you add several internal moves. Ask operators for the full per-person total, not only the daily figure.
Gorongosa entrance fees of $10-$20 are small beside luxury daily rates, but they still matter in a budget plan [4]. Boat trips can add $50-$150 in Quirimbas or $100-$200 in Bazaruto [4]. Water activities can add another $30-$80 around Tofo [4].
Flights are excluded from the listed 22-day tour price [3]. Other packages may treat flights, visas, insurance, transfers, or meals differently. Therefore, compare line by line and ask for written confirmation.
Visa and health rules can affect both timing and trip costs. Brazilian travelers can review the current Mozambique visa guidance for Brazilian citizens before booking flights.
Vaccination advice should come from current travel guidance and a qualified health professional. The guide on Mozambique vaccinations for travelers from Brazil can help you prepare questions before departure.
A low price does not explain the full experience. Check vehicle details, guide support, transfer plans, and recent traveler reviews. SafariFind lists verified tour operators and authentic reviews, which helps you compare service as well as cost.
Keep a simple worksheet with five lines: package price, included services, excluded services, activity costs, and cancellation rules. This method makes the cheapest complete option easier to identify.
Mozambique safari prices vary because wildlife parks, island lodges, boat transfers, activities, and travel styles use different cost structures. A budget park package and a luxury archipelago stay are not direct substitutes. Compare the trip design first, then compare the price.
Gorongosa National Park is a land-based wildlife destination. Bazaruto and Quirimbas add island transport and boat logistics. Inhambane and Tofo add beach access and water activities. These differences explain why a safari-and-beach package may cost more than a simple park visit.
Budget packages start at $180-$250 daily. Mid-range options rise to $300-$450. Luxury options start at $700 and can exceed $2,500 per person each day [2]. The gap reflects more than a room. It can include service level, location, transfers, privacy, and included activities.
The listed 22-day route is a small-group trip priced from US$2,971 to $3,595, excluding flights [3]. Group travel can spread transport and guide costs across several people. Private travel gives more control, but operators may quote a higher per-person price.
The 2026 small-group dates listed for this route are August 8, August 22, September 5, September 19, October 10, November 7, and December 19 [3]. A fixed departure can simplify planning. It may also limit your choice of travel dates and room types.
Mozambique’s five budget bands make early planning easier. Use them as a starting map, not as a replacement for a full quote. A clear quote should show the exact destination, nights, transport, activities, and total price.
Mozambique safari prices in 2026 range from $180 to more than $2,500 per person per day. Budget packages cost $180-$250, mid-range packages cost $300-$450, and luxury packages start at $700 [2]. The total also depends on trip length, transport, lodging, park fees, and activities.
The cheapest listed Mozambique safari budget is $180-$250 per person per day [2]. This band suits travelers seeking a basic wildlife trip. Confirm what the operator includes, because flights, transfers, meals, park fees, and activities may affect the final total.
A luxury Mozambique safari starts at $700 per person per day and can exceed $2,500 daily [2]. This budget suits premium wildlife and island experiences. Ask for a complete quote that lists lodging, transport, meals, guides, activities, and taxes.
Bazaruto Archipelago day trips cost about $100-$200 per person, based on the reported 2026 activity range [4]. This is an add-on budget rather than a complete safari price. Check whether boat transport, meals, equipment, and guide services appear in the quote.
Tofo snorkeling and diving cost about $30-$80 per person, while Quirimbas boat tours cost about $50-$150 [4]. These activities can fit a mid-range trip, but they still need separate budget lines when they are not included.
Flights are excluded from the listed 22-day South Africa-Mozambique small-group tour price. The tour is listed from US$2,971 to $3,595, with 2026 departures from August through December [3]. Confirm every flight and transfer cost before paying a deposit.

Gorongosa National Park suits a wildlife-first plan, while Bazaruto, Inhambane, Tofo, and Quirimbas suit beach and marine trips. A Bazaruto day trip adds about $100-$200. A Tofo activity adds $30-$80. These figures help you build a mixed itinerary with fewer surprises.

"This is the second time I am writing a review of my experience of traveling with Kikwetu Cultural Adventures. Last year, Ken Benson and his team organized an 80 day custom made safari through 7 African countries for me with such outstanding logistics and customer service throughout the safari, that this year I decided to turn again to Ken and his team to ask for his professional assistance in organizing a half-around-the-world tour for me. I am 71 years old and decided that it was now or never for me to travel to some parts of the world which always have exerted a lot of attraction over me. I communicated to Ken via e-mail my ideas of where I wanted to go and how long I wanted to stay in each place and asked him to arrange flight connection, ground transportation, accommodation, sightseeing, etc. It turned out to be the safari of a lifetime: 31 days and 7500 km by road through rural and religious Ethiopia. One week in Nairobi with visits to museums and galleries, the Sheldrick’s elephant orphanage, a hike through Hell’s Gate close to Naivasha, Kibera slum and a very enjoyable walking tour through down town Nairobi which is especially recommendable on a Sunday. Flight from Nairobi to Nampula and ground transportation to Nacala, Mozambique. From Nacala, I had arranged for a freighter travel to Singapore with a stop over in Mauritius Island, but with three weeks on my hands while waiting for another freighter to come along and take me back home to Mexico across the Indian and the Pacific Ocean, Ken arranged for a 12 day safari in Indonesia, visiting Central and East Java, Sulawesi and Bali, and one week in Malaysia with highlights in Georgetown, Ipoh and Malacca. My journey lasted 122 days and whenever network connections were available, Ken kept track of my travels and was in contact with me and/or the subcontracted provider to make sure, that everything went according to program and schedule. It was a most gratifying experience and I want to thank Ken, Livingstone, Paul and the rest of Kikwetu Cultural Adventures for having made one more of my dreams come true. There is no doubt in my mind that, if you are interested in a truly custom made safari inside Africa and in neighboring countries, Kikwetu Cultural Adventures is the best choice for getting what you are looking for with regard to advice, support, customer service and price."
