A 7-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi safari starts at $5,680, while a 4-day budget trip starts at $895. [1][3]
Lower Zambezi Safari Packages 2027 cost from about $895 for a short budget trip to more than $7,000 for a luxury lodge stay. The best time to visit is June to October, when dry weather supports wildlife viewing and river activities. Compare verified SafariFind operators, prices, and traveler reviews before booking.
Lower Zambezi Safari Packages 2027 give travelers access to one of Zambia’s top river and wildlife areas. The park sits beside the Zambezi River and across from Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. Its setting supports game drives, canoe trips, boat safaris, walking tours, and fishing.
Prices are not fixed across the year. Season, camp level, trip length, group size, and included flights all affect the final cost. Current listings show a wide range. A 4-day budget tour appears from $895, while a 7-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi trip starts at $5,680. [1][3]
Lower Zambezi National Park generally operates from about May to November. Some camps stay open later into the green season, but availability and activities differ by lodge. [7] This guide explains the known 2027 price points, seasonal planning factors, park fees, transport, and booking steps.
Quick answer: A Lower Zambezi safari in 2027 costs about $895 for a short budget package and $5,680 or more for a multi-park luxury itinerary. June to October is the strongest overall travel period. Ask each operator what the price includes, especially flights, park fees, meals, transfers, and activities.
Lower Zambezi Safari Packages 2027 are planned trips that combine accommodation, guiding, transport, and wildlife activities in or near Lower Zambezi National Park. Packages range from short budget tours to private lodge stays and multi-park journeys. The main value comes from combining river access with classic African game viewing.
Lower Zambezi National Park is known for its location along the Zambezi River. Visitors can often choose between land and water activities within one trip. This makes the area different from parks that offer only vehicle-based game drives.
Known for: River scenery, canoeing, boating, fishing, walking safaris, and game drives. The park is also part of wider Zambia itineraries that include Zambia, Kafue, or Victoria Falls.
Best for: Travelers who want varied activities, small-group guiding, quiet wilderness, and a slower river-based safari. Couples often choose lodge packages, while active visitors may prefer canoeing and walking.
Price range: Current examples run from $895 for a 4-day budget safari to $5,680 for a 7-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi Snapshot. [1][3] These figures are useful benchmarks, not a complete 2027 seasonal rate card.
Package inclusions can change the real cost by thousands of dollars. A low headline rate may cover shared transport and basic lodging. A higher lodge rate may include charter flights, meals, guided activities, drinks, and park fees.
A guided small-group trip listed at £2,199 per person, or €2,639, covers 8 days and 7 nights. Another Lower Zambezi holiday from the same source is listed at £5,499, or €6,379, per person. [2] The difference shows why travelers should compare inclusions, not only the first price they see.
Lower Zambezi packages also vary by departure style. Shared departures can reduce the cost per traveler. Private trips offer more control over timing, vehicle use, and activity choices. Therefore, ask whether the quote covers a shared or private safari.
Explore Lower Zambezi safari packages for 2027 and compare verified operators.
Victoria Falls is a popular add-on for travelers who want to combine river landscapes with a major waterfall. SafariFind also lists trips connected with Victoria Falls and Livingstone. A combined route can increase the total price, but it may reduce the need for separate planning.
Travelers who want a wider Zambia route can also compare Lower Zambezi with Kafue. SafariFind’s guide to first-time Kafue safari costs and fees helps explain how park style and transport affect a full itinerary.
Lower Zambezi safari prices are usually highest during the popular dry months and lower during the rainy or green season. However, no authoritative source in the supplied research provides a complete 2027 month-by-month price table. Use listed package prices as benchmarks, then request a date-specific quote.
June to October is the best overall time to visit Lower Zambezi for dry weather and wildlife viewing. Water sources become more important to animals during this period. Clearer roads can also make game drives easier, while the river remains central to boat and canoe activities.
Season profile: High demand, strong wildlife viewing, and good conditions for combining drives with water activities. Luxury camps may charge more during these months because demand is concentrated.
October can bring warmer conditions, but it remains within the main dry-season travel window. Ask operators about heat, activity schedules, and camp opening dates. A quote should state whether transfers and flights are included.
May and November sit near the edges of the main operating period. Lower Zambezi generally operates from approximately May to November, although some camps remain open later into the green season. [7] These months can offer more flexible planning than the busiest dry-season dates.
Season profile: Mixed conditions, changing camp availability, and possible value compared with peak dates. The exact experience depends on rainfall, road access, and the operator’s activity plan.
May can follow the wetter months, while November can signal the start of more rain. Travelers should confirm which activities run on their dates. They should also check if a lodge closes between seasons.
Rainy-season rates are often lower than dry-season rates, according to the supplied research summary. Still, the research does not provide a verified 2027 price table for each rainy-season month. Lower rates may come with fewer open camps, changing roads, or reduced activity choices.
Season profile: Lower possible rates, greener scenery, and greater weather uncertainty. This period can suit flexible travelers who value price and landscape over predictable conditions.
Do not assume every budget package operates year-round. Confirm the lodge’s opening dates, airport transfers, water activities, and cancellation terms before paying a deposit.

The Royal Zambezi 2027 offer lists rates of $5,912, $6,884, and $7,610. Return flights between Lusaka and Royal Airstrip are included. [6] The package therefore provides a useful luxury benchmark, but travelers should check room category and exact dates.
Request quotes from verified operators for your Lower Zambezi travel dates.
Lower Zambezi National Park entry fees are listed at $30 per international visitor per day, $20 for SADC visitors, and $5 for Zambian citizens. Non-resident vehicle entry is listed at $15 per vehicle. [4] A package may include these fees, so check the cost sheet before comparing offers.
Other cost questions include airport transfers, domestic flights, drinks, laundry, tips, fishing permits, and private vehicle use. A clear quote separates included costs from optional extras. This approach prevents a low package price from becoming an expensive final bill.
The best Lower Zambezi safari package matches your dates, activity goals, comfort level, and transport needs. Start by checking the operator’s inclusions. Then compare the same details across at least two or three offers.
Getting there: Many Zambia safari routes use Lusaka as a starting point, with road transfers or charter flights continuing toward safari camps. The Royal Zambezi 2027 package specifically includes return flights between Lusaka and Royal Airstrip. [6]
Lusaka is therefore an important transfer point for many itineraries. Ask whether your package includes the flight, baggage allowance, airport meet-and-greet, and road transfer from the airstrip.
Some travelers add Victoria Falls before or after Lower Zambezi. Others build a longer route through Kafue. The right plan depends on your available days and transfer budget. Do not assume nearby parks connect by a short drive.
Lower Zambezi is a strong choice for travelers who want more than standard game drives. Canoe safaris provide a low viewpoint on the river. Boat trips offer another way to watch wildlife near the banks. Walking safaris add close study of tracks, plants, and smaller signs.
Activity availability depends on the camp, season, water level, and guide plan. Put your top two activities in the first quote request. This helps operators recommend a suitable camp and length of stay.
Accommodation level is one of the biggest price factors. Budget trips may use simpler camps or shared arrangements. Luxury packages may include private rooms, full-board meals, flights, and several guided activities.
Group size also affects the experience. A small group can offer more room for questions and flexible activity choices. A private vehicle gives even greater control, but it usually increases the total rate.
Compare the number of nights inside the park, not only the number of travel days. An 8-day, 7-night package and a 7-day itinerary may include different amounts of actual safari time. [2]
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews from previous guests. Read reviews for guide quality, transfer handling, food, camp service, and response times. These details often matter as much as the headline price.
When you compare offers, save the full quote. Check the payment schedule, refund rules, travel insurance needs, and emergency contact details. A trustworthy operator should explain what happens if weather delays a flight or changes a river activity.
Travelers planning a walking-focused itinerary can also review Lower Zambezi walking safari daily costs and operators. This provides a useful comparison point for active trips.
Plan your Lower Zambezi safari by choosing the season first, then setting a clear budget and activity list. Request quotes early for June to October. Compare lodge nights, flights, park fees, and vehicle use before selecting an operator.
Choose June to October for the clearest dry-season plan. Choose May or November if you want shoulder-season flexibility. Consider the green season only when you accept changing weather and possible camp limits.
As of August 2026, travelers planning 2027 should ask about confirmed opening dates. Some operators may show guide prices rather than final seasonal rates. Ask for a written quote tied to your exact dates.
Use $895 as a current short-trip budget benchmark, not a promise of a full luxury safari. Use $5,680 as a benchmark for a 7-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary. Luxury lodge examples reach $7,610 for an 8-night package. [1][6]
Then add costs that the quote excludes. Park entry, vehicle fees, flights, transfers, drinks, tips, and optional activities can change your total. The listed park fees alone are $30 per international visitor per day and $15 per non-resident vehicle. [4]
Clear questions make package comparisons fair. They also show whether an operator understands your priorities. Ask for a day-by-day plan when the itinerary includes more than one park.
Pack light clothing, a warm layer, sun protection, insect repellent, sturdy shoes, and a small day bag. A waterproof cover helps protect cameras and phones during boat or canoe trips. Follow your guide’s safety rules near the river and wildlife.
Travelers combining parks can compare the 5-day Kafue safari route and total cost. Visitors adding Livingstone can review Livingstone Zambia tours and day-trip prices.

Lower Zambezi Safari Packages 2027 cost from about $895 for a four-day budget safari. A seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary starts at $5,680. Luxury eight-night packages list rates from $5,912 to $7,610. [1][3][6]

Lower Zambezi safari prices are often lower in the rainy or green season than during peak dry months. However, no complete 2027 monthly rate table is provided in the research. Confirm camp opening dates, roads, flights, and activities before booking.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
