One listed Kruger night drive costs R867 per person sharing in 2027, while a four-night land package can cost $4,675 per person.
Kruger Night Drive Packages 2027: Prices and Booking range from R867 for one listed night-drive activity to more than $1,500 per day for full safari packages. A La Kruger two-day package costs ZAR 3,985 with dinner, bed and breakfast, or ZAR 4,529 with full board. Plan around your chosen drive time and 2027 departure date.
Kruger Night Drive Packages 2027: Prices and Booking cover guided evening drives, lodge stays, meals, transfers, and other safari services. The exact cost depends on what the operator includes. A single listed activity costs R867 per person sharing. Full packages can cost far more when they add lodging, meals, park fees, transfers, and daytime drives [2].
Kruger National Park is South Africa's best-known safari destination. Its night drives change the pace of a normal game drive. You leave after dark, listen for movement, and watch the road with a guide who understands animal behavior. The experience is quieter than a daytime drive, but it also asks for patience.
In 2027, travelers can choose a short lodge stay or a longer land package. La Kruger Lifestyle Lodge lists a two-day option with a night drive from 19:00 to 23:00. AmaWaterways lists a four-night Kruger land package from $4,675 for double occupancy [3] [5].
Quick answer: A Kruger night drive costs R867 per person sharing for one listed activity in 2027. A two-day La Kruger package costs ZAR 3,985 with dinner, bed and breakfast, or ZAR 4,529 with full board. Longer packages cost more because they add rooms, meals, transfers, and extra drives.
Use this guide to compare the main price points, understand the schedule, and plan your booking. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews, so you can check what your quote includes before paying.
For more trip planning, the Kruger National Park destination guide gives you a wider view of the park and related safari options.
Kruger night drive packages include a guided evening drive, but longer packages may also include accommodation, meals, transfers, park fees, and daytime drives. The listed La Kruger retreat shows how a short stay works. Guests check in at 14:00, join the night drive from 19:00 to 23:00, then return to the lodge [3].
That schedule matters because it gives you time to arrive before the drive. You can settle in, eat, and prepare warm clothing. The drive then runs through the evening, when many visitors hope to see animals that stay hidden during the heat of the day.
Safari packages do not all use the same cost structure. A low daily rate may cover a shared vehicle and basic lodging. A higher rate may include private transfers, more meals, and several guided drives. Read the inclusion list before comparing two prices.
Morning drives follow a different pattern. Kruger morning drives can depart 30 minutes before official gate opening and last about 3 to 3.5 hours [7]. Sunset drives last about three hours and return after sunset, when nocturnal animals begin to appear [7].
Night drives are best for travelers who want a different view of the park. They are also useful for visitors with a short stay. One evening activity can add variety without requiring a long itinerary.
Compare 7-day Kruger safari packages and daily costs for 2027.
Known for: Night drives are known for after-dark wildlife viewing, guided searches along park roads, and a slower pace. A guide uses knowledge of animal habits to help guests notice movement, calls, and tracks. Sightings are never guaranteed, so the value also comes from seeing the park at a different hour.
Best for: Night drives are best for couples, families with suitable children, photographers who enjoy low-light scenes, and repeat safari visitors. They also suit travelers who want one evening activity instead of several full days in a vehicle.
Kruger night drive packages cost R867 for one listed night-drive activity per person sharing in 2027. A two-day La Kruger package costs ZAR 3,985 with dinner, bed and breakfast, or ZAR 4,529 with full board. Longer land packages reach several thousand US dollars because they cover more nights and services [2] [3].
The R867 figure is the clearest starting point for a single activity. It is useful for travelers who already have accommodation and only need a guided night drive. It is not the same as a full safari holiday with rooms, meals, transport, and park access.
| Option | Price | Duration | Price basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| SafariFind listed night drive | R867 | One activity | Per person sharing |
| La Kruger dinner, bed and breakfast | ZAR 3,985 | Two days | Package price |
| La Kruger full board | ZAR 4,529 | Two days | Package price |
| AmaWaterways land package | From $4,675 | Four nights | Double occupancy |
| AmaWaterways land package | From $7,013 | Four nights | Single occupancy |
| Explore South Africa itinerary | $5,810 | Listed 2027 departure | Solo room amount $1,210 |
AmaWaterways lists a four-night Kruger land package from $4,675 for double occupancy. The single-occupancy price starts at $7,013 [5]. Explore lists 2027 departures from 11 March through 24 June at $5,810, with a solo-room amount of $1,210 [4]. These figures show why occupancy and trip length matter.
SafariFind summaries place full Kruger safari packages at about $100 to more than $1,500 per day. The range reflects differences in lodging, meals, transfers, park fees, and game drives [2]. A shared public-camp plan sits at a very different price level from a private lodge stay.
Compare South Africa safari costs and check what your 2027 quote includes.
Start with the meal plan. La Kruger lists a difference between dinner, bed and breakfast and full board. Then check the room basis. Double occupancy spreads a room cost across two guests, while single occupancy raises the total.
Next, check the activity list. A package with one night drive costs less than a package with morning drives, sunset drives, transfers, and several nights. Ask for a clear daily plan before you compare the headline price.
Book a Kruger night drive by choosing the activity length, checking the 2027 date, and confirming every inclusion. Start with the R867 activity if you already have a room. Choose a two-day or four-night package if you need accommodation, meals, and a wider safari plan.
A one-activity booking suits travelers who already have transport and lodging. A two-day stay gives you a simple arrival, meal, evening drive, and lodge return. A four-night land package gives you more time and a higher chance of building several safari activities into the trip.
La Kruger lists check-in at 14:00 and a night drive from 19:00 to 23:00 [3]. This timing gives you a clear plan for the first day. Confirm whether your operator uses the same times, because drive schedules can differ between properties and park areas.
Ask whether the price is per person sharing, per room, or for a single traveler. The SafariFind activity rate uses a per-person sharing basis. AmaWaterways lists separate double and single occupancy prices, which shows how much room type can change your budget [2] [5].
Bring a warm layer, even when the afternoon feels hot. The vehicle stays open during many game drives, and the air can feel cool after sunset. Use a small bag, keep your phone secure, and follow the guide's instructions around wildlife.
Night drives focus on animals active after dark. You may notice sounds, eyeshine, small mammals, or movement near the road. A slow drive often gives you more time to watch. No package can promise a particular animal sighting, so choose the experience rather than one single target.
Travelers who want to compare nearby stays can also review Hoedspruit safari packages for 2027. Hoedspruit is a useful planning point for some Kruger-area trips, but your final route should match the lodge and drive included in your booking.
SafariFind lets you compare verified operators and read authentic traveler reviews before you choose. Look for clear prices, a named itinerary, and a useful answer to each booking question.
A Kruger night drive package gives you access to a different part of the park day. Day drives help you scan open areas in natural light. Night drives ask you to listen, wait, and watch smaller movements. That change makes one evening feel different from a standard morning route.
Night drives also fit well into a short break. A traveler with one or two nights can add an evening activity without committing to a full week. A longer stay can use the night drive as one part of a wider plan with morning drives and lodge time.
There is a trade-off. Night drives limit natural light, and some travelers find the long evening tiring. The best choice depends on your energy, budget, and interest in after-dark wildlife. If you prefer broad views and easy photography, a morning drive may suit you better.
Kruger morning drives last about 3 to 3.5 hours and can leave before official gate opening [7]. Sunset drives last about three hours and return after sunset [7]. Compare these schedules with the four-hour La Kruger night drive before you decide.
For travelers building a wider South Africa route, SafariFind also lists places such as Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve, uMkhuze Game Reserve, and Addo Elephant National Park. These links can help you compare a Kruger stay with other South African safari areas.
Keep the booking simple. Pick the night drive first, then add rooms, meals, transfers, and extra drives only when you need them. That method makes the final price easier to understand.

What time does the La Kruger night drive start? The La Kruger night drive starts at 19:00 and runs until 23:00 [3]. Guests check in at 14:00 before the evening activity. Confirm the schedule when booking because each lodge or operator may use different departure times.

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"

"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."

"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."

"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."
