Luxury journeys cost US$10,595 or more, while walking safaris start at US$4,760 on SafariFind. October and November are the best months for fruit bats, birding, walking, and vehicle safaris.
Kasanka Safari Packages 2027: First-Timer Costs and Booking plans are designed for travelers who want a quieter Zambia trip. Kasanka National Park offers bat viewing, birding, walking safaris, and vehicle drives. It is a different choice from a standard Big Five route. The park works well as part of a longer journey through Zambia.
A first-time Kasanka safari costs about US$3,300 for a 13-day group tour. Walking trips start at US$4,760 on SafariFind, while luxury journeys cost US$10,595 or more. October and November offer the strongest chance of seeing the fruit-bat migration, which runs from October through December. [1] [5]
This guide explains the main price points, trip styles, timing, and booking checks for 2027. It also shows how Kasanka can fit with Lusaka, South Luangwa, Kafue, or Victoria Falls. You will see where costs rise and which questions to ask before booking.
Kasanka safari packages are multi-day trips built around seasonal bats, birding, walking, and vehicle safaris. The listed 2027 choices range from a 13-day group tour at about US$3,300 to luxury journeys priced at US$10,595 or more. Walking safaris offer another route, with a SafariFind option from US$4,760 per person. [1]
Kasanka National Park is best known for its annual fruit-bat migration. The migration takes place between October and December, with October and November offering the clearest fit for travelers who plan around this event. [5] That timing gives first-time visitors a clear reason to choose Kasanka over a general dry-season safari.
The bat season is also useful for travelers who want more than one activity. Kasanka packages can combine bat viewing with birding, guided walks, and vehicle safaris. [1] A good plan leaves enough time for the main bat experience without treating every day as a standard game drive.
Kasanka is best for travelers who enjoy a focused wildlife theme. It suits people who want to watch a major seasonal event, photographers who value unusual subjects, and visitors who prefer walking or birding alongside vehicle drives. It also suits travelers building a longer Zambia route.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews. Explore Kasanka safari packages for 2027 and compare available trip styles before you decide.
Kasanka gives a longer Zambia itinerary a clear seasonal focus. A route can begin in Lusaka, continue to Kasanka, and then add South Luangwa or Kafue. Some wider itineraries also include Victoria Falls. [1] This structure works well when you want one special event rather than several similar safari days.
Kasanka is not the simplest choice for a short weekend. The listed trips run for 13 or 15 days, so the park suits travelers with time for a full journey. That longer format can feel expensive at first, but it may cover several regions and activities in one booking.
Kasanka safari packages cost about US$3,300 to US$10,595 or more per person in the listed 2027 options. The lower figure covers a 13-day group tour, while the luxury figure applies to higher-end journeys. A SafariFind walking safari starts at US$4,760, and Bundu Adventures lists a 15-day walk from €3,890 sharing. [1] [2]
| Package style | Starting price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Group safari | About US$3,300 per person | Travelers seeking the listed lower-cost option |
| Walking safari | €3,890 sharing | Travelers who want a walking-focused trip |
| SafariFind walking safari | From US$4,760 per person | Travelers comparing walking options |
| Luxury journey | US$10,595 or more per person | Travelers choosing higher-end comfort |
Bundu Adventures lists a €290 single supplement on its 15-day walking safari. [2] That fee matters if you do not want to share a room or tent. Compare the sharing price, single supplement, trip length, and activity plan together. A lower headline price may cover a different travel style.
Kasanka safari prices may exclude international flights, visas, insurance, taxes, tips, and some drinks. [1] [2] These items can change your final budget. Ask for a written list of inclusions before you pay a deposit.
Prices also need a date check. Safari operators may update 2027 rates, places, and terms as the season approaches. Compare verified tour operators and request quotes for your 2027 budget before choosing a package.
Value depends on what the trip includes. A 13-day group safari at US$3,300 may suit a traveler who wants a set itinerary. A 15-day walking safari at €3,890 sharing may suit someone who values time on foot. A US$10,595 luxury journey may fit travelers who place comfort and private service first. [1] [2]
Do not compare prices by currency alone. Compare the number of days, walking time, game drives, transfers, accommodation, and meals. Then check what remains outside the quoted price. This simple step prevents an attractive headline rate from becoming a costly surprise.
October and November are the best months for a first Kasanka trip focused on fruit bats. Kasanka’s annual fruit-bat migration runs from October to December, so travelers who want the strongest seasonal focus should plan within that window. [5] The same trip can include birding, walking, and vehicle safaris. [1]
October is a strong starting point for the bat season. November also fits the main migration period and gives travelers another useful booking month. Choose these months when the migration is the reason you are traveling, rather than treating it as an extra activity.
Kasanka packages built around this season may combine several days of bat viewing with other park activities. Ask how the itinerary schedules these activities. A package should make clear whether bat viewing happens each day, on selected dates, or as part of a wider safari plan.
December remains within the October to December fruit-bat migration season. [5] It can suit travelers whose wider Zambia route works better late in the year. Confirm the exact itinerary and seasonal plan before booking, especially if bat viewing is your main goal.
Walking safaris give the trip a slower rhythm. You spend time reading tracks, watching smaller details, and moving through the park with a guide. The listed Bundu Adventures option lasts 15 days and starts at €3,890 per person sharing, with a €290 single supplement. [2]
Vehicle safaris cover more ground and suit travelers who want a broader search for wildlife. Birding adds another reason to spend time outside the vehicle. Kasanka packages can combine all three styles with seasonal bat viewing. [1] Ask how many days each activity receives before booking.
Zambia routes can include Kasanka alongside Lusaka, South Luangwa, Kafue, and Victoria Falls. [1] This can create a varied trip, but each extra stop adds travel time and planning work. Keep the route simple if your main aim is the bat migration.
Travelers who want a different Zambia contrast can also read about Bangweulu Wetlands safari packages or compare a 7-day Kafue itinerary. These options help you decide whether Kasanka should be the main trip or one part of a wider route.
Start by choosing your main reason for visiting Kasanka. Select October or November for the fruit-bat migration, then compare group, walking, vehicle, and luxury options. Next, request a full 2027 quote that lists inclusions, exclusions, trip length, and the exact activity plan.
Set your dates around the fruit-bat migration if that is your top goal. October to December is the stated season, with October and November offering the clearest planning focus. [5] Then check whether the operator can provide the activities you want, such as birding, walking, and vehicle safaris.
Read the quote before paying. Confirm flights, visas, insurance, taxes, tips, drinks, transfers, accommodation, meals, and park activities. Safari package prices may exclude several of these costs. [1] [2] A clear quote makes it easier to compare operators fairly.
SafariFind helps travelers compare verified tour operators and read authentic reviews from previous travelers. Use reviews to check guide service, transfer planning, communication, and how well the operator followed the advertised itinerary. Then ask for answers in writing.
Keep the route focused. Kasanka can combine with Lusaka, South Luangwa, Kafue, and Victoria Falls. [1] A longer itinerary may offer more variety, but too many stops can reduce time for the bat season. If you add Kafue, compare the advice in Kafue night drive packages before finalizing the route.
Kasanka is a specialist choice, so the right package matters more than a long list of stops. Compare the activity plan, price, and review record together. That approach gives first-time visitors a clearer basis for booking.
Kasanka safari packages start at about US$3,300 per person for a 13-day group tour. SafariFind lists a walking safari from US$4,760, while luxury journeys cost US$10,595 or more per person. The final budget depends on trip style and included services. [1]
October and November are the best planning months for Kasanka’s fruit-bat migration. The annual migration runs between October and December. Choose dates within this period if bat viewing is the main reason for your safari. [5]
A first Kasanka safari can last 13 to 15 days based on the listed group and walking packages. The 13-day option starts at about US$3,300, while Bundu Adventures lists a 15-day walking safari from €3,890 per person sharing. [1] [2]
Kasanka safari packages can combine fruit-bat viewing, birding, walking safaris, and vehicle safaris. Check the itinerary to see how many days each activity receives. Packages differ in travel style, so the activity list matters when comparing prices. [1]
Kasanka safari prices may exclude international flights, visas, insurance, taxes, tips, and some drinks. Ask for a full written list of inclusions and exclusions before booking. This check helps you calculate the true 2027 trip cost. [1] [2]
Use SafariFind to compare verified tour operators, review available Kasanka packages, and read authentic traveler reviews. Request a full quote for your dates, then check the activity plan, price, exclusions, and cancellation terms before booking.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."
"Tongesai and his team provided a wonderful itinerary on our recent trip to Victoria Falls with day trips to Zambia and Botswana. They were a thoughtful and knowledgeable team who took great care to tailor the trip to our family's needs."
"Our guide Tongesai was incredibly respectful, punctual, and friendly. He also helped us with transfers to and from the airport. The experience of visiting Victoria Falls on the Zambia side was amazing. The scenery is wonderful!!!"
"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
