Uganda’s marine and coastal conservation agenda centres on fisheries, aquatic habitats and sustainable resource use rather than an ocean coastline. In 2026, the Directorate of Fisheries Resources is using habitat assessments, environmental impact assessments and partnerships with research institutions and communities to support aquatic biodiversity conservation [1].

Kafue National Park safari cost in 2027 ranges from $750 for a 3-day trip to $26,809 for an 11-day experience. The best time to visit Kafue is May to October, during the dry season. Compare verified Zambia safari packages on SafariFind to review prices, trip details, and operator feedback before booking.
As of 2027 planning, Kafue National Park safari cost starts at $750 for a 3-day tour. That entry-level package combines Victoria Falls, Choma, and Kafue National Park. It covers about 566 miles and accepts travelers aged six and older [2].
Kafue National Park is a strong choice for travelers who want space, varied habitats, and fewer crowds. The park also works well in a wider Zambia itinerary. You can pair it with Victoria Falls, the Lower Zambezi, or South Luangwa.
Quick answer: The best time for a Kafue safari is May to October. Prices start at $750 for three days, while longer luxury trips can reach $26,809 for 11 days. Your final cost depends on camp style, transport, guide services, park fees, and the number of nights inside the park.
This guide explains the real price range, seasonal choices, sample routes, visa notes, and booking steps. It also shows how to compare options on SafariFind. Always confirm the final 2027 rate, inclusions, and availability with the operator before paying.
Kafue National Park safari cost in 2027 spans a wide range because trips vary from short road tours to private, high-end safaris. Listed prices start at $750 for three days and rise to $26,809 for an 11-day experience. This range gives travelers both a lower-cost starting point and premium choices [2].
Kafue National Park is known for its broad landscapes and safari routes that can include grasslands, woodland, and wetland areas. This variety gives visitors different views and travel conditions during one trip. The park suits travelers who want a slower, less crowded safari style.
Kafue National Park packages often include more than game drives. Depending on the itinerary, a trip can connect the park with Livingstone or Choma. The listed $750 package includes all three destinations and covers approximately 566 miles [2].
The $750 listing provides a useful starting point for budget planning. It covers three days and two nights, with Kafue National Park included in the route [2]. A long, private safari costs more because it usually uses more nights, more driving, better camp rooms, and additional logistics.
Luxury camp pricing shows how high the market can rise. Shumba Safari Camp is listed from $1,365 per person per night and operates for only five months each year [5]. A seasonal camp can therefore sell out early, especially during the dry-season months.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews. Compare Kafue safari packages and 2027 prices before requesting a quote.
A Kafue safari package can include accommodation, guided drives, transfers, meals, and park or conservation fees. However, each listing uses its own inclusions. Read the full itinerary and ask for a written quote before you compare one package against another.
Package prices are not always like-for-like. A low starting rate may cover a shared trip with basic rooms and road transfers. A premium price may include a private vehicle, internal flights, exclusive guiding, and a remote camp.
Use this checklist when reviewing a 2027 itinerary:
The listed 3-day Kafue package runs for two nights and includes Livingstone, Choma, and Kafue National Park. It accepts guests aged six and older. The tour operates in English, French, and Spanish [2]. These details make it useful for families and international travelers who need language options.
Another 2027 planning option is a privately guided Zambia safari that includes internal flights between Lusaka, Lower Zambezi, Kafue, and Lusaka. The listing also notes national park fees, conservation levies, and an exclusive 4x4 safari vehicle [6]. Confirm the exact cost because private flights and vehicle use can change the total.

Travelers building a wider route can compare the 5-day Lower Zambezi safari itinerary with Kafue. You can also review South Luangwa National Park packages before choosing between Zambia’s main safari areas.
The best time to visit Kafue National Park is May to October, during the dry season. The wet season runs from November to April. These two periods create different travel conditions, so your ideal month depends on wildlife goals, road access, landscape views, and camp availability [8].
May to October is the main dry season in Kafue [8]. Dry conditions often make safari planning easier. Travelers may prefer this period for classic game drives, clear travel plans, and a lower chance of heavy rain.
Seasonal camps also affect availability. Shumba Safari Camp operates for only five months each year and lists rates from $1,365 per person per night [5]. Ask whether your chosen camp opens throughout the dry season or only during selected months.
November to April is Kafue’s wet season [8]. Green landscapes and seasonal changes can appeal to photographers and repeat safari travelers. However, some camps may close or change operations during part of this period.
Wet-season travel needs more planning. Ask about road conditions, camp opening dates, transfer times, and backup plans. The lower or higher price is less important than knowing exactly what operates on your dates.
Season affects Kafue safari cost through camp opening dates, transport demand, and package availability. The available research confirms the May-to-October dry season and the November-to-April wet season, but it does not set one fixed rate for every month [8]. Therefore, request a date-specific quote for 2027.
Compare a short three-day trip with a longer stay before deciding. A short package may suit a wider Zambia route. A longer trip may offer more time in Kafue but costs more in rooms, meals, guiding, and transport.
For a broader trip, read the guide to 7-day South Luangwa safari planning. It can help you decide whether Kafue belongs in a short or extended Zambia itinerary.
Start a Kafue safari plan by choosing your dates, trip length, and comfort level. Then compare the route, transport, camp, and inclusions. Booking early is wise for 2027, especially if you want a seasonal camp or a private vehicle.
Lusaka is a key entry point for Zambia safari planning. African Parks states that most nationalities can obtain a 30-day tourist visa on arrival at Lusaka, Livingstone, or Ndola airports [1]. Check your own nationality rules before departure because entry terms can change.
African Parks also states that visitors to Zambia may receive a complimentary 90-day visit within any 12-month period. Business visitors may receive 30 days [1]. Treat this as a planning reference, then confirm current immigration rules with the relevant official authority.
Some Kafue itineraries begin in Livingstone and continue through Choma. Others use Lusaka and internal flights. A private 2027 Zambia listing includes flights from Lusaka to Lower Zambezi, Kafue, and back to Lusaka [6]. Ask whether your quoted price includes flights or road transfers.
Compare total trip value rather than the lowest headline price. A $750 package may fit a short route, while a luxury camp charges a nightly rate from $1,365. These products serve different travelers and should not be judged by price alone [2][5].
Ask operators direct questions. Confirm the number of nights, meal plan, vehicle type, fees, transfer method, cancellation policy, and camp opening dates. Request the final price in writing and check whether it applies to 2027.
SafariFind’s catalog can help you add a nearby stop to your trip. Consider Lake Itezhi Tezhi, Lochinvar National Park, or Kariba Dam when the operator offers a suitable route.
Travelers flying through Livingstone can also compare Livingstone Zambia safari packages. Keep the route practical. Long road transfers may add cost and reduce time for wildlife viewing.
Use SafariFind reviews to compare operators by service, communication, and trip experience. A verified review can reveal details that a price page does not show.
Kafue National Park safari cost in 2027 starts at $750 for a listed three-day tour. Longer experiences can reach $26,809 for 11 days. Luxury accommodation, private vehicles, internal flights, park fees, and extra nights increase the final price [2].

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
