Cheetah conservation in Mozambique entered a promising new phase after 16 cheetahs were relocated to Panyame Conservancy. In April 2026, relocated female Kazi produced Mozambique’s first litter from this translocated population, but long-term success will depend on habitat security, monitoring and community support.

Hwange National Park Safari Packages & Prices 2027 range from $2,444 to $8,793 per person for many planned trips, while luxury packages can cost more. Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest park and is known for elephants, lions, African wild dogs, and more than 300 bird species. Compare verified SafariFind packages before booking for 2027.
Hwange National Park Safari Packages & Prices 2027 give you several ways to explore Zimbabwe’s largest park. You can choose a short wildlife drive, an 8-day Zimbabwe trip, or an 18-day southern Africa route. The right choice depends on your budget, trip length, comfort level, and interest in nearby parks.
Hwange National Park is known for large elephant herds, lions, rare African wild dogs, and more than 300 bird species. Visitors can also look for Big Five wildlife during guided game drives [1]. This guide explains current price examples, package types, planning steps, and questions to ask before you pay.
Quick answer: A Hwange safari in 2027 costs about $2,444-$8,793 per person across many listed package options. An 8-day Zimbabwe safari starts at $4,768, while an 18-day route costs $5,699-$6,199 for listed 2027 departures. Luxury Hwange combinations can reach $21,611 per person [3][4][5].
Prices in this guide are planning figures available in August 2026. Operators can change rates, room types, dates, and discounts before 2027. Use them as comparison points, then request a written quote with every inclusion clearly shown.
Hwange National Park Safari Packages & Prices 2027 cover guided wildlife trips inside Hwange and larger journeys that combine Zimbabwe with southern Africa. Listed prices range from $2,444 to $8,793 for many tours. Luxury multi-park travel sits much higher, so package inclusions matter as much as the headline price.
Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest park. The park is associated with elephant herds, lions, African wild dogs, more than 300 bird species, and possible Big Five sightings [1]. That mix makes Hwange a strong choice for travelers who want varied wildlife rather than one single animal encounter.
Zimbabwe is also useful for a wider southern Africa journey. Safari routes can connect Hwange with Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. The [Zimbabwe safari parks guide](https://safarifind.com/blog/zimbabwe-safari-parks-where-to-go-for-big-game-in-2026) offers another way to compare the country’s main wildlife areas before choosing a route.
Hwange National Park is known for elephant viewing and broad game-drive opportunities. A private concession bordering the park lists an afternoon wildlife safari drive at US$80 [1]. This example shows why a short activity price cannot be compared directly with a full safari package.
A short drive may cover guiding and vehicle time only. A full package may add lodging, meals, transfers, park fees, flights, and several days of activities. Always ask whether the quote covers these costs. This step prevents a low starting price from becoming an expensive final bill.
Early planning tip: Start by comparing package length, lodging, and included activities. Compare Hwange safari packages and request quotes from verified operators before choosing a 2027 departure.
Hwange National Park suits travelers who want a focused Zimbabwe safari. It also suits people who want to add Victoria Falls or other southern African stops. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews in one marketplace.
The [Zimbabwe safari tours comparison guide](https://safarifind.com/blog/zimbabwe-safari-tours-5-ways-to-compare-operators-in-2026) explains how to check guiding, transport, lodge quality, and operator service. Use those checks when you compare Hwange offers for 2027.
Hwange safari packages cost $2,444-$8,793 per person across the 2027 planning range supplied for this guide. An 8-day Zimbabwe safari starts at $4,768, while listed 18-day southern Africa departures cost $5,699-$6,199 per person. A luxury Hwange-Chobe-Okavango package lists $21,611 per person [3][4][5].
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic Imvelo Zimbabwe Safari | From US$4,768 | 8 days | Not provided | Travelers wanting a focused Zimbabwe route [3] |
| G Adventures Ultimate African Safari, July-August | US$6,199 per person | 18 days | Not provided | Travelers seeking a multi-country southern Africa trip [4] |
| G Adventures Ultimate African Safari, December | US$5,699 per person | 18 days | Not provided | Travelers seeking the listed lower seasonal rate [4] |
| TourRadar Hwange-related tours | From €5,199 | Not stated | Not provided | Travelers comparing several tour styles [6] |
| Trailfinders Hwange holiday | €4,399 or £3,699 per person | 18 days / 17 nights | Not provided | Travelers wanting a longer guided holiday [7] |
| Machaba Hwange-Chobe-Okavango package | US$21,611 per person | Not stated | Not provided | Luxury travelers seeking three major safari areas [5] |
Package duration is a major cost factor. An 8-day itinerary has fewer nights and transfers than an 18-day route. A multi-country tour also adds border travel, internal transport, and more guiding days.
Lodging style creates another large difference. A luxury package from Machaba Safaris covers Hwange, Chobe National Park, and the Okavango Delta. Its listed high-season period runs from May 1 to October 31, 2026, with a rate of US$21,611 per person [5]. This is a luxury benchmark, not a standard Hwange-only price.
Season and departure date can also affect rates. The listed G Adventures departures on July 31-August 17 and August 14-31, 2027 cost $6,199 per person. The December 4-21, 2027 departure is listed at $5,699 per person [4].
Budget comparison tip: Set your maximum total price before you compare. Compare Hwange tour operators for 2027 quotes under your target budget and check reviews, inclusions, and cancellation terms together.
The [Zimbabwe safari cost guide](https://safarifind.com/blog/zimbabwe-safari-cost-2026-7-package-prices-explained) gives useful questions for checking package value. A clear quote lets you compare like with like, instead of comparing one all-inclusive trip with one basic land-only rate.
The best Hwange safari package matches your travel style, wildlife goals, and available time. Choose a focused 8-day Zimbabwe trip for a shorter visit. Choose an 18-day route for broader southern Africa. Choose a luxury package when premium lodges, private guiding, and several parks matter most.
An 8-day safari is a practical choice for travelers who want Zimbabwe without a long regional route. The Classic Imvelo Safari is listed from $4,768 and includes Hwange National Park [3]. It gives you a clear benchmark for a focused itinerary.
An 18-day trip is better for travelers who want more than Hwange. The listed G Adventures route includes Kruger, Hwange, Chobe, and the Okavango Delta. July and August departures cost $6,199, while the listed December departure costs $5,699 [4].
Trailfinders lists another 18-day, 17-night Hwange holiday at a guide price of €4,399 or £3,699 per person [7]. Currency and exchange rates can change. Ask the operator which services the guide price includes before you compare it with a dollar quote.
Operator quality affects your daily experience. Check guide experience, vehicle type, lodge standards, group size, and response time. Read authentic reviews when available, and ask for the exact names of camps and hotels.
The [Zimbabwe safari lodges comparison](https://safarifind.com/blog/zimbabwe-safari-lodges-8-luxury-stays-to-compare-in-2026) can help you assess accommodation. Meanwhile, SafariFind lets you compare verified operators and read reviews from previous travelers. This makes the research stage faster and clearer.
These details matter because a package with a lower headline price may exclude key services. Request a full written itinerary. Then compare the total cost, not only the advertised starting rate.
Start your Hwange safari plan by choosing dates, trip length, and budget. Next, compare the full itinerary and request a quote. A good plan names the camps, activities, transfers, and fees, so you know what your 2027 payment covers.
Book enough drives to make your trip worthwhile. A single afternoon drive costs US$80 in one private concession example bordering Hwange [1]. A full package adds lodging, meals, transfers, and other services, so compare activity schedules carefully.
Tell your guide what you want to see. Elephant photography, African wild dogs, lions, and birding may need different timing and patience. No operator can promise a specific sighting. However, a skilled guide can improve your chances by reading tracks, habitats, and animal behavior.
Book early when your dates are fixed. The listed July and August 2027 departures already show specific available dates and prices. December has a lower listed rate on the same 18-day route, but availability and final terms still need confirmation [4].
Use the [best time for a Zimbabwe safari guide](https://safarifind.com/blog/best-time-for-a-zimbabwe-safari-month-by-month-2026) to build a wider seasonal plan. The guide can also help you compare Hwange with other Zimbabwe destinations and match your travel dates to your interests.
Pack light when your itinerary uses small vehicles or domestic transfers. Ask your operator about luggage limits before departure. Also confirm whether the lodge provides laundry, charging points, and drinking water.

May 1-October 31 is a listed high-season period for one luxury Hwange package [5]. Treat this as a package pricing signal, not a guarantee of wildlife conditions. Ask your chosen operator to explain weather, wildlife, and lodge availability for your exact 2027 dates.
Hwange safari packages are not all identical, so you must check the inclusions. Confirm lodging, meals, game drives, park fees, transfers, flights, guide services, and cancellation terms before comparing prices.

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"My travel companions and I chose the 4 day experience. Technically it is really a 3 day experience, because the last day they provide airport transportation. I feel they go above and beyond in making sure they are providing their customers with a safe, exciting and exceptional experience. Gari was our driver/guide in Zimbabwe, and was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Gari either made sure we were where we needed to be or provided his own guide trip to the Victoria Falls. He even provided the rain gear, which is most necessary. Gari and his "boss" Mr T. went above and beyond when Delta postponed our flight by a day, by helping to make sure that the connecting airline would change our reservation. They then made sure we got to the airport on time, a day later. They are always willing to provide any additional things that you would like to see and do. If you looking for a guided tour company, this is the one to use, and one that I would have no hesitation in using again."

"First, Tongesai Mtematsaka was excellent with communications and service. We couldn’t have asked for better. My questions via email were promptly answered. His English was excellent, and better. He was always on time in meeting us, coming and going. Our two hour trips from VIc Falls to the sable sands lodge, and then from the lodge to the Vic Falls airport were a highlight to our entire Africa trip. My wife and I will be discussing various aspects from the discussions with Tongesai for some time to come. By patiently answering my many questions he educated my wife and I about Zimbabwe and the region - culture, practices and assets of the people, typical family life, economy, weather, etc., and possibilities and trends into the future - all believable and detailed. The staff and facilities at the sable sands lodge were all excellent, beginning with Michelle’s clear instructions and cautions. She was a delight. We were asked if we wanted to take a charming hut as close as we could get to the marvelous watering hole there and got it. Incredibly we were greeted by a dust-cloud from a herd of maybe 100 Cape buffalo running to the water - unbelievable! The meals prepared by So and Derik were really good, throughout. MC, our drive guide was excellent and very accommodating to all the guests in the comfortable and safe-feeling, open 4x4. We met some nice co-guests. We saw so many animals on our safari that I will not attempt to recall here. I would just say that the many watering holes in the Hwange park were impressive, As an environmentalist myself I was very impressed with the solar powered system for exploiting the aquifers, and the foresight of the authorities in developing and maintains these. I know the history going back to the 1920’s, but if there wasn’t maintainence and upgrade the animals could not continue, especially with drought effects of climate change. Finally, I must comment on the fact that our first night in our hut was spent listening to the rumblings of the elephant just outside out hut. In the morning the tracks outside our hut showed how close our visitor was. We knew then that Michelle’s cautions were serious. But then more, the second night we had a lioness spend the night outside our hut, perhaps roaring a mating call. At first light MC came by with the truck and asked if we wanted to see the lion. I shot out with my camera. What an experience!! We hope our parting tip to the group of 16 people providing excellent service was meaningful. I will certainly recommend this trip to anyone who will hear me. What a privilege!!!"

"We booked our Zimbabwe trip with Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours following a recommendation from Nhongo Safaris in South Africa. Tongesai is a great communicator, and the booking process was quick, easy, and well organized. We were happy with the quote provided and were able to easily pay online. Tongesai was waiting for us at Victoria Falls Airport to take us to our accommodation. He has arranged an amazing whirlwind 48 hour visit, that was packed with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, Morning Game drive, he accompanied us on an amazing walk of the Victoria falls and arranged an African experience dinner in the evening. It was so memorable, and everything we wanted! Overall, it was an fantastic trip, with a great guide, and we would highly recommend it for anyone considering a trip to Victoria Falls. For our next visit, we will definitely be reaching out to Tongesai and thoroughly recommend to all our friends."
