Etosha Safari Lodge lists N$3,721 per person sharing from January to October 2027, while Etosha Village lists R2,473 per person sharing from January to June. Compare rates carefully before booking, especially when conservation fees apply.
Camping near Etosha can cost about N$360, while a luxury lodge night can pass US$600. [1]
Etosha Lodge Prices 2027: What a Night Near the Park Costs is a useful guide for travelers planning a Namibia safari from August 2026 onward. The key point is simple. A night near Etosha can suit a careful budget, but premium rates rise fast when meals, private reserves, and conservation fees enter the bill.
Compare Etosha National Park packages for 2027 before choosing a lodge. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews.
This guide focuses on published 2027 rates and clear cost checks. It covers camping, lodge rooms, half-board stays, full-board stays, and added fees. It also explains why two places near the same park can have very different prices.
The figures use several currencies. N$ means Namibian dollars. NAD refers to the same currency in the Ongava pricing information. R means South African rand. These currencies are close in value, but your card provider may apply a different exchange rate.
Rates also depend on what the night includes. A room with breakfast is not equal to a full-board chalet. A lodge inside a private reserve may include extra wildlife activities. Read the meal plan and fee details before comparing totals.
Etosha lodge prices in 2027 start near N$360 for camping and rise above US$600 for luxury accommodation. Published examples include N$3,721 per person sharing at Etosha Safari Lodge, R2,473 at Etosha Village, and NAD 11,800 at Ongava for a listed full-board chalet rate. [1][2][3][4]
Etosha National Park is known for self-drive safaris, waterhole viewing, and easy access from nearby lodges. SafariFind places the broad 2027 accommodation range at about N$360 for camping to more than US$600 per night for luxury lodges. [1]
That spread reflects different types of stays. Camping gives you a place to sleep near the park. A lodge may add meals, a private room, a swimming pool, guided drives, or access to a private reserve. These extras shape the final cost.
Etosha Safari Lodge lists January to October 2027 bed-and-breakfast rates of N$3,721 per person sharing. The single-room rate is N$4,651. [2]
These figures apply to a bed-and-breakfast plan. They do not represent the full cost of a safari day. You may still need to budget for park fees, transport, fuel, lunch, dinner, and game drives.
Etosha Safari Lodge lists November and December 2027 rates as "Please Enquire." [2] Travelers visiting late in the year should check the final rate before paying a deposit. That step matters because festive-season dates can affect room supply and trip costs.
Etosha Village lists a January to June 2027 half-board rate of R2,473 per person sharing. [3] The research summary also reports R2,768 per person sharing for July to November 2027. [3]
Half-board usually gives a clearer starting point than room-only pricing because it includes meals under the lodge plan. Still, check the exact meal list and ask whether drinks, transfers, activities, and park entry sit outside the rate.
The price gap between the first and second season is R295 per person. That difference is easy to overlook, especially when you build a longer Namibia route. A seven-night stay at that difference adds R2,065 per person.
The best value depends on your meal plan, room type, and safari style. Etosha Village offers a lower published lodge rate than Etosha Safari Lodge, while camping costs far less. Ongava costs more because its listed chalet rate includes full board and sits beside a private reserve setting. [1][2][3][4]
| Accommodation | 2027 rate | Meal plan or basis | Season or date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camping near Etosha | About N$360 | Camping | 2027 guide range |
| Etosha Village | R2,473 per person sharing | Half board | January to June 2027 |
| Etosha Village | R2,768 per person sharing | Half board | July to November 2027 |
| Etosha Safari Lodge | N$3,721 per person sharing | Bed and breakfast | January to October 2027 |
| Etosha Safari Lodge | N$4,651 single room | Bed and breakfast | January to October 2027 |
| Ongava Lodge | NAD 11,800 per person sharing | Full board chalet | Period ending 10 January 2027 |
Etosha Village offers the lower published lodge price in this comparison. Its R2,473 half-board rate is below the N$3,721 bed-and-breakfast rate at Etosha Safari Lodge for the January to June period. [2][3]
Ongava Lodge sits in a different price class. Its listed chalet rate is NAD 11,800 per person sharing and NAD 15,100 for a single room for the period ending 10 January 2027. [4] The quote excludes a conservation fee of NAD 1,200 per adult per night and NAD 600 per child per night. [4]
That fee adds NAD 2,400 per night for two adults. For a three-night stay, the adult conservation fees alone total NAD 7,200. Ask for a full written total before comparing Ongava with a standard lodge outside the park.
Etosha Heights covers 60,000 hectares beside Etosha National Park. Ongava covers 45,000 hectares, while Onguma covers 35,970 hectares. [5] These private areas offer a different setting from a basic campsite or a standard lodge outside the gate.
Private reserve rates often reflect the land area, lodge service, meal plan, and guided activities. That does not make every premium stay the right choice. It means you should compare what the rate buys, not only the number on the page.
Compare Namibia safari lodge rates for 2027 if your route includes more than Etosha. SafariFind lets you review package choices and compare tour operators before you request a quote.
Build an Etosha lodge budget in four parts: accommodation, meals, park access, and transport. Start with the published room rate, then add every fee that the rate excludes. This method prevents a low nightly price from becoming an expensive surprise at checkout.
Per-person sharing rates assume two people share a room. A single traveler often pays more because the room cost does not split between guests. Etosha Safari Lodge lists N$4,651 for a single room compared with N$3,721 per person sharing. [2]
Families should also check child rules. Ongava lists a child conservation fee of NAD 600 per night, compared with NAD 1,200 for an adult. [4] The room rate, meal rate, and fee may each use different age limits.
Bed and breakfast gives you a room plus morning food. Half board adds another meal. Full board covers more meals, but each operator defines the plan in its own way.
Etosha Village uses a half-board rate of R2,473 per person sharing for January to June 2027. [3] Etosha Safari Lodge uses a bed-and-breakfast rate of N$3,721 per person sharing for January to October 2027. [2] Compare the plans before deciding which rate is cheaper.
A lodge price is only one line in your Namibia safari budget. You may also pay for a rental car, fuel, airport transfers, park entry, guided drives, drinks, and lunch or dinner outside the meal plan.
Self-drive travelers can control transport costs more closely. Guided travelers may pay more for a package but gain a driver, route planning, and game-viewing support. SafariFind packages can help you compare those two travel styles in one place.
Etosha Safari Lodge lists January to October 2027 rates, but November and December appear as "Please Enquire." [2] Etosha Village lists separate rates for January to June and July to November. [3]
Use the published season that matches your travel dates. Do not assume a January rate applies in December. For late 2027 travel, request the final price before booking flights or paying a deposit.
Keep a small buffer for currency changes and optional activities. This is sensible when your quote uses N$, NAD, or R. Your bank may use a different exchange rate on the payment date.
Check the lodge location, meal plan, room basis, conservation fees, and cancellation terms before booking. The cheapest headline rate is not always the cheapest complete stay. A clear quote should show the nightly price and each required extra.
Location affects your daily rhythm. A lodge near a gate can reduce the time needed to reach Etosha. A private reserve can offer its own drives and wildlife area. Decide whether you want long self-drive days, guided activity, or a slower lodge stay.
Etosha is especially useful for first-time visitors and families who want a clear self-drive route. Photographers may prefer a base that allows early starts and repeated time near waterholes. The right choice depends on how much time you want in the vehicle each day.
Price alone cannot show whether a lodge suits your trip. Read authentic traveler reviews for comments about food, room comfort, guide quality, gate access, and the accuracy of the booking information.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and review information. Use the details to compare what each package includes. Then request a quote that matches your dates, room type, and travel group.
Etosha often forms one part of a longer Namibia trip. You may combine it with the Deadvlei area, the Naukluft Mountains, or a stay in Aus. Each added stop changes the driving time and total accommodation cost.
Travelers planning a wider route can also compare the 5-day Namibia safari cost guide. It helps place an Etosha lodge night inside a complete trip budget, rather than treating the room as the whole safari cost.
Etosha lodge prices in 2027 range from about N$360 for camping to more than US$600 per night for luxury accommodation. Published lodge examples include R2,473 per person sharing at Etosha Village and N$3,721 per person sharing at Etosha Safari Lodge. [1][2][3]
Etosha Safari Lodge costs N$3,721 per person sharing from January to October 2027. The single-room rate is N$4,651. The listed plan is bed and breakfast. November and December 2027 rates show "Please Enquire," so late-year travelers should request a current quote. [2]
Camping is the cheapest listed option, with prices around N$360 in the 2027 accommodation range. Camping costs less than a lodge room, but travelers must budget for their own meals, transport, equipment, and any park or activity fees. [1]
Etosha Village costs R2,473 per person sharing on half board from January to June 2027. The reported July to November 2027 rate is R2,768 per person sharing. Check the meal plan and exact dates before booking. [3]
Ongava Lodge adds a conservation fee of NAD 1,200 per adult per night and NAD 600 per child per night. Its listed chalet full-board rate is NAD 11,800 per person sharing and NAD 15,100 for a single room for the period ending 10 January 2027. [4]
Compare the full stay cost, not only the room rate. Check the room basis, meals, conservation fees, location, activities, and cancellation terms. SafariFind helps travelers compare verified safari packages, request operator quotes, and read authentic reviews before booking.

"Tongesai was recommended to me by a friend who also booked his amazing safari through Cultural Vibes; I am glad we took his recommendation. Our safari across Victoria Falls and Botswana was top notch. Tongesai booked us in all of the best camps and with the best safari outfitters. Our excursions were extremely well planned and full of excitement. The restaurants were fantastic as well. Personally, I love planning my own vacations but honestly don't think there is an easy and reliable way to plan an African safari without using a travel agent very familiar with the region. Located in Zimbabwe and with a travel and tourism background, Tongesai was able to coordinate our stays between 5 safari camps which included private charter flights across the regions. He also personally escorted us into Botswana and helped with border crossing which was very helpful as well. Compared to larger companies, Tongesai's package rates were more reasonable and came with a customized touch. I highly recommend Cultural Vibes to anyone looking to go on safari in Zimbabwe and its bordering countries (Botswana, Zambia & Namibia). Thanks, T!"
"We were amazing group of 4 adults from Atlanta USA. Upon arrival we found our guide Stuart Muronga already waiting for us. He picked us up in a well air-conditioned vehicle and offered us water at soft drinks. Before going to check in we drove around the beautiful city . After checking in he dropped us off at the famous Boma restaurant..we had an amazing experience there over delicious meals and drums and dance. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The next morning he picked us up for out safari experience in Chobe which is in Botswana just an hour drive from Vic Falls. We spent 6 hrs there then drove another 40 or so minutes to some island in Namibia. Stuart was so knowledgeable with great communication skills which made the whole experience so smooth and fun."
"I would like to note an excellent organisation of this tour. In advance Kubwa Five Safaris created whats app groupe for me so I had contacts of people who assisted me during my travel. I was picked up at the airport. My guide was waiting for me. The accommodations chosen for this trip were correct, clean with good service. The choice of restaurants corresponded the rate of this tour. We visited wonderfull places with beautiful landscapes, I enjoyed game drive and visit of Etosha parc. My driver was a professional guide, so I had explanations on historical events, culture, geology, flore and faune of the sites that we visited. Kubwa Five Safaris chose reliable partners in Namibia, that made my trip safe and I would like to thank them for that."
