Dar es Salaam day tours in 2027 include city visits, coastal trips, and longer safari connections across Tanzania. Private safari prices range from about $300 to $1,000 per person per day, while five-day shared safaris start at $1,049.99. May and October have listed 2027 departures, but prices and space depend on the operator and route.
One 16-day Kenya and Tanzania tour with Zanzibar costs $10,539 per person on a listed October 2027 departure. [2] That figure shows why Dar es Salaam day tours need a clear plan before you book.
Dar es Salaam day tours in 2027 are short trips that start in Tanzania's largest coastal city. They can include city history, markets, nearby beaches, forest visits, or a connection to a longer wildlife safari. The right choice depends on your time, budget, and interest in wildlife.
Dar es Salaam works well as a starting point because private Tanzania safari itineraries run from one day to ten days, with longer options available. Current listings also show daily departures during 2026 and 2027. [1] You can therefore plan a short outing or add a full safari to a city stay.
Quick answer: A Dar es Salaam day tour is best for travelers with one free day or a short coastal stop. Private safari travel costs about $300 to $1,000 per person per day. Five-day shared safaris start at $1,049.99. [1] [5] Longer southern routes offer a direct link to two parks.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. The marketplace can help you compare trip length, price, and safari style before you send a booking request. Read the details closely. A city tour, a private game drive, and a multi-day park trip are very different products.
For broader trip planning, see the guide to Tanzania safari destinations and packages. It gives you a useful starting point before you choose a Dar es Salaam route.
Dar es Salaam day tours are one-day activities that begin and end in the city or use the city as a travel base. They can focus on culture, food, beaches, history, or wildlife. A safari day trip usually costs more than a simple city outing because it needs transport, a guide, park fees, and game-viewing time.
Dar es Salaam is a practical base for travelers who want to see more of coastal Tanzania. A one-day plan may suit a cruise passenger, a business traveler, or someone waiting for a flight. A longer safari needs more travel time, so it should not be treated like a quick city excursion.
Private Tanzania itineraries listed for 2026 and 2027 cover one, two, three, four, five, seven, eight, nine, and ten days. Extended packages are also available. [1] This range gives you room to match a tour with your schedule rather than forcing a long trip into one day.
Selous Game Reserve is one southern option listed in the SafariFind catalog. A six-day southern Tanzania itinerary can use a light aircraft from Dar es Salaam and visit two parks with fewer vehicles than the northern circuit. [4] That route suits travelers who want wildlife without starting in Arusha.
A day tour gives you a taste of the coast. A multi-day safari gives you more time for wildlife and longer drives. The difference affects both cost and comfort. A private safari can cost $300 to $1,000 per person per day, depending on the trip design, lodging, and activities. [1]
Known for: Dar es Salaam day tours are known for short travel times, coastal access, and flexible starting points. Best for: travelers who want a simple first step into Tanzania. If you already know your dates, compare five-day Tanzania safari costs for 2027 before choosing a one-day plan.
Dar es Salaam day tours and safari trips cost about $300 to $1,000 per person per day for private travel. A five-day shared safari starts at $1,049.99, while small-group listings cost $1,626 to $1,787. [1] [5] The final price depends on transport, lodging, group size, park fees, and included activities.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private Tanzania safari | $300 to $1,000 per person per day | 1 to 10 days or longer | Package dependent | Travelers wanting a flexible route |
| Sharing safari | From $1,049.99 | 5 days | Package dependent | Lowest listed safari price |
| Small-group safari | $1,626 to $1,787 | 5 days | Package dependent | Travelers who want shared transport |
| Globus Kenya and Tanzania safari with Zanzibar | $10,539 to $11,229 | 16 days | Package dependent | Long escorted trips |
| Intrepid Premium Tanzania | From $7,925 | 8 days | 4.9 from 43 reviews | Premium small-group travel |
The five-day sharing, small-group, and mid-range figures come from current SafariFind research. The mid-range option costs about $1,750. [5] These prices make shared travel worth considering when you want a safari experience without paying for a private vehicle.
A wider guide lists shared Tanzania tours at $6,000 to $12,000 and gives an overall safari estimate of about $500 to $2,500 per person per day for 2026 and 2027. [6] Those higher figures reflect a different mix of tour length, lodging, and service level. Always check what the quote includes.
Compare the total package price, not only the advertised daily rate. Ask whether meals, transfers, guide services, park fees, and internal flights are included. To match a fixed budget with a real listing, review Tanzania safari prices per person in 2027 before you request a quote.
The best route from Dar es Salaam depends on how many days you have. One day suits city and coast activities. Six days gives you more time for southern wildlife parks. A longer route can connect Dar es Salaam with Zanzibar, the northern circuit, or a wider Kenya and Tanzania itinerary.
Southern Tanzania is the clearest choice for a safari that starts near Dar es Salaam. A six-day itinerary can use a light aircraft and reach two parks with fewer vehicles than the northern circuit. [4] This option suits guests who value quiet game drives and a simpler connection to wildlife.
Udzungwa Mountains National Park can appeal to travelers who want a nature route rather than a classic open-plain safari. Check the activities in your quote, since hiking, wildlife drives, and road transfers require different plans.
Dar es Salaam day tours can also lead to island and beach stays. Nungwi is a Zanzibar destination listed on SafariFind. Travelers planning a beach extension can also read the guide to Kendwa Beach packages for 2027 before choosing a transfer.
The Globus private Tanzania safari with Zanzibar is listed as a 13-day package from Arusha to Dar es Salaam. The listing includes a March 31, 2027 departure and prices based on double occupancy. [7] This is a full itinerary, not a day tour, but it shows how Dar es Salaam can work as a final stop.
The northern circuit needs more time from Dar es Salaam. A longer trip may include the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro area, and other parks. A seven-day itinerary gives you a stronger wildlife plan than a rushed one-day transfer.
The seven-day Tanzania safari route guide can help you compare a longer plan. You can also consider Grumeti Game Reserve if your operator offers that route. A night drive needs a separate check because not every park or package allows it.
Long tours can cost far more than a Dar es Salaam day tour. Pavlus Travel lists a 16-day Kenya and Tanzania safari with Zanzibar at $10,539 to $11,229 per person for selected October 2027 departures. [2] Intrepid lists an eight-day Premium Tanzania trip from $7,925 for a May 15, 2027 departure. [8]
Intrepid also lists an eight-day Tanzania tour from $15,370 for May 8, 2027. Its nine-day Stone Town to Nairobi tour starts at $2,280. [8] These prices show why you must compare route, service level, and departure city before judging value.
Compare 7-day Tanzania safari routes before booking a Dar es Salaam trip.
Start by choosing the trip type, then confirm transport, timing, and inclusions. A city day tour needs a simple schedule. A safari connection needs more care because road and flight times can affect the whole plan.
Dar es Salaam is the right base when you want a short coastal visit or a southern safari link. It is less suitable for a rushed northern circuit. The Serengeti and other northern parks need a route built around longer travel time.
Book early for 2027 dates that already show limited departures. Pavlus Travel lists selected October departures, while Intrepid lists May departures with specific lowest prices. [2] [8] These examples show why a flexible date can help, but you should confirm availability directly.
Request a written quote from a verified operator. Ask whether the price is per person, per vehicle, or based on double occupancy. The Globus listing, for example, states that its 2027 price uses double occupancy. [7] That detail changes the final cost for solo travelers.
Read traveler reviews before you pay. Look for comments about guide skill, vehicle condition, pickup times, food, and how the operator handled changes. SafariFind lets you compare verified tour operators and read authentic reviews in one place.
Travelers who plan a beach and forest extension can review Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park packages for 2027. The SafariFind catalog also lists Jozani Forest And Salaam Turtles Aquarium, which can help you compare island activities with mainland day tours.
Compare 2027 Tanzania safari prices before requesting a verified quote.
Private safari travel from Dar es Salaam costs about $300 to $1,000 per person per day. A basic city or coast activity may use a different rate. Ask for a complete quote that lists transport, guide services, entry fees, meals, and activities. [1]
Yes, one-day private itineraries are listed for Tanzania. [1] A one-day plan works best for a short wildlife outing or local nature visit. Southern parks often need more time, so a five-day or six-day route may offer better value.
The lowest listed five-day sharing safari starts at $1,049.99 per person. [5] Shared transport can lower the cost, but the package may have fixed dates, shared meals, and set accommodation. Check every inclusion before booking.
Yes, a six-day southern Tanzania itinerary can use a light aircraft from Dar es Salaam and visit two parks. [4] Ask the operator about baggage limits, flight times, airport transfers, and whether flights appear in the quoted price.
Yes, longer tours can combine Tanzania wildlife with Zanzibar. A listed private Globus itinerary runs for 13 days from Arusha to Dar es Salaam, with a March 31, 2027 departure priced on double occupancy. [7]
Use SafariFind to compare verified tour operators, package prices, and authentic traveler reviews. Check the route, dates, inclusions, and cancellation terms, then request a quote for your 2027 travel dates.
Dar es Salaam day tours in 2027 are a smart fit for short coastal stays and southern Tanzania connections. Private safari prices sit around $300 to $1,000 per person per day, while a five-day shared option starts at $1,049.99. [1] [5] A six-day southern route can reach two parks by light aircraft, and longer tours can add Zanzibar. [4] [7]
Choose a one-day plan when your time is tight. Choose five or six days when wildlife is the main goal. For a larger trip, compare the $10,539 October Globus departure with the $7,925 May Intrepid Premium listing. [2] [8] Prices, space, and inclusions can change, so ask for a written quote.

" We had a wonderful 2-day safari with GOKILI Tanzania Safaris, covering Arusha National Park and Tarangire National Park. Arusha captivated us with its breathtaking scenery, while Tarangire was unforgettable with its large herds of elephants and iconic, magnificent baobab trees. Our guide was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and the entire experience was seamlessly organized from pickup to drop-off. A perfect way to experience Tanzania's incredible wildlife in just two days. Highly recommended!"

"Just finished a 4 days Safari with MangiEmpire Tours & Safaris. We were a group of 2 – Father (50) and daughter (18) Overall excellent experience. There are tons of companies organizing safaris so it is hard to compare, but MangiEMPIRE Safaris is definitely a great one. We did all the booking over mail/Whatsapp with Nova, who showed great flexibility to our itinerary and hotels requests. After consulting with him, we agreed to have about 2 days in Serengeti and 1 day in Ngorongoro. We also picked together the hotels in order to have a varied experience (we had 1 night in the KatiKati tented camp, 1 night at the excellent Serena Lodge and 1 last night at the very fancy Neptune lodge.) We had an experienced and knowledgeable guide who catered to all our requests, and was ready to have very long days with us in the field. This included driving the extra distance to take us to the south part of the Serengeti in order to see the first large groups or migrating animals (mainly Zebras and Cheetah) returning to the Serengeti. Also, as we had a very late flight on the day returning from the Safari, while my daughter had her hair done the Tanzania way with many small braids, and took us to a nice place to eat as we insisted tasting Nyama Choma (BBQ meat with bananas) before leaving."

"When I started to look for a Safari, I contacted many agencies based in Arusha. Of all the offers I received, the one from MangiEmpire Safaris caught my attention because of how compliant it was with my initial request.Nova, the manager I spoke with, was able to give me valuable advices on how to improve my safari and still stay on my budget. The safari itself was amazing. They took care of everything, including getting in touch with an orphanage where we wanted to make a donation. Thanks to our guide, Frank we saw more wildlife than we could ever have dreamed of. The big five of course; but also dramatic scenes of hunting along the Mara River and deep inside the Serengeti. We might had some luck, but the experience of our guide and his ability to spot animals was impressive. About the comfort you have nothing to worry about, the vehicle was equipped with many power plugs, we had more drinks than needed, and breaks were organized on request. i would strongly recommend mangiempire safaris to any person willing to discover all the wonders Tanzania has to offer. Everything was perfect and superb!!! Do not hesitate to use them, you will not be disappointed"

"We went on a 4-day Safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. We chose MangiEmpire Adventures Tanzania as they were highly recommended by friends, and they truly lived up to that glowing recommendation! Our guide was extremely welcoming, friendly, professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He always got us in great spots for photos, but was respectful of the animals and knew how to read their behaviors. As a very experienced guide and driver, we felt very safe at all times with Him. He truly loves and is passionate about Tanzania's people, culture, animals and landscapes. It was nice to be collected and dropped off at the airport by the same person -- he was a lovely friend by the end! Also, during the booking/planning stages, the Company staffs were very responsive and easy to communicate with, especially Nova; the Director. We would highly recommend MangiEmpire Tours Tanzania, for excellent guides, well-maintained vehicles and a high-standard Safari experience."
