Chobe safari prices rise from $720 camping trips to $5,500 luxury journeys in 2027.
The Chobe National Park safari cost in 2027 ranges from $720 to $5,500 or more per person. A non-citizen park entry fee is listed at 120 BWP per person per day, although other published rates show 270 BWP. The dry season is best for wildlife viewing, especially elephants, hippos, and river safaris.
Chobe National Park safari cost in 2027 depends on trip length, lodging, transport, and activities. SafariFind lists 2027 prices from $720 for a three-day camping safari to $5,500 or more for premium trips. These prices usually reflect a wider package, not only the park entry ticket. [2]
Chobe National Park is in northern Botswana, near Kasane and the Chobe River. The park is easy to combine with Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, or other Botswana safari areas. That location gives travelers more route choices than remote bush camps.
Quick answer: A Chobe safari costs $720-$5,500 or more per person in 2027. Short camping trips offer the lowest price. Luxury lodges, private vehicles, longer stays, and extra flights raise the total. The dry season gives the clearest wildlife viewing because animals gather around water.
This guide explains the main fees, package prices, and booking choices. It also explains why entry fee information does not always match across travel websites. Use the figures as a planning guide, then ask your operator for a written 2027 quote.
Chobe National Park safari cost in 2027 is $720-$5,500 or more per person. The lower end covers a three-day camping safari. The upper end reflects premium trips with better lodging, longer stays, private services, and more included activities. SafariFind reports this range for 2027 Chobe packages. [2]
Chobe National Park is known for elephant-rich game drives and Chobe River boat safaris. Packages also feature birdwatching, hippos, crocodiles, and predator sightings. These activities give you two viewing angles: a vehicle on land and a boat on the water. [2]
The river setting also shapes the daily schedule. Morning game drives often start early, while boat trips work well later in the day. A package with both activities can offer more variety than a drive-only trip. Confirm the activity list before comparing two prices.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Camping safari | From $720 | 3 days | Not stated | Budget travelers and short visits |
| Premium Chobe safari | $5,500 or more | Longer trip | Not stated | Private travel and luxury lodges |
| Newmarket Chobe itinerary | From £4,230 | 10 days | Not stated | Travelers wanting a guided holiday |
The table shows why a single “average” price can mislead you. A camping trip and a ten-day guided holiday do not include the same service level. Compare nights, meals, transfers, park activities, and room type before choosing the cheapest headline price.
Compare Chobe National Park safari packages for 2027 prices and inclusions before you request a final quote.
Trip length is one of the biggest cost drivers. A three-day camping safari needs fewer nights, meals, transfers, and guiding hours. A longer lodge trip adds accommodation nights and may include more game drives or river cruises.
Accommodation also changes the budget. Camping keeps the basic package near the lower end. Premium lodges sit near the upper end because they offer more comfort and a higher level of service. Ask whether the quoted price includes a private room or shared accommodation.
Transport creates another difference. Some travelers reach Chobe through Kasane, while others join a wider Botswana route. A package that includes transfers and several destinations may cost more than a local Chobe-only trip. Therefore, compare the full route rather than the park name alone.
The main Chobe fee to budget for is the daily park entry charge. SafariFind and TourRadar list a non-citizen adult entry fee of 120 BWP per person per day. TourRadar lists 30 BWP for Botswana residents and 10 BWP for citizens. [2][5] However, another published guide lists 270 BWP for international adults.
African Budget Safaris reports an international adult fee of 270 BWP and 135 BWP for children aged 8 to 17. [7] This differs from the 120 BWP figure reported by SafariFind and TourRadar. The difference may reflect an updated schedule, a separate charge, or a different fee category.
This inconsistency matters when you plan a family or multi-day safari. Treat 120 BWP as a listed planning figure, not a guaranteed final rate. Ask your operator to confirm the official 2027 fee, the visitor category, and whether the package already includes it.
A Chobe safari quote may combine several costs into one package. Read the inclusions line by line. Look for these items:
Not every operator includes every item. Some quotes also separate conservation fees, drinks, tips, or optional activities. A lower price may exclude transport or meals. A higher price may include a private vehicle and more flexible departure times.
Newmarket Holidays advertises a ten-day Chobe itinerary from £4,230 for departures from London Heathrow on 22 March 2027. It lists another ten-day departure from £4,482 on 25 May 2027 and a July departure from £5,108. [3]
These figures show how date and itinerary design affect the total. They are not direct replacements for a three-day local safari. They represent longer guided holidays, often with more transport and services. Always check currency, flights, single supplements, and the exact hotel list.
Review Chobe night drive packages and 2027 prices if evening wildlife viewing is part of your plan.
Travelers often compare Chobe with Kruger National Park, a Yala National Park safari, or East African parks. Those destinations use different park rules, currencies, transport systems, and package styles. Therefore, a direct price comparison needs the same trip length and inclusions.
Searches such as “Lake Bogoria National Reserve - Best Time To Visit - 2026” and “The best Simien Mountains National Park” show how travelers compare wildlife regions before booking. Chobe stands apart because the river cruise is a central activity, not simply an extra tour.
The best way to plan a Chobe safari is to match your budget with trip length, season, and lodging. Start with the experience you want. Then check what each quote includes. This approach prevents a low headline price from hiding extra transport, meals, or activity costs.
Camping is best for travelers who want a lower starting price and a simple bush experience. A three-day camping safari starts at $720 per person in SafariFind’s 2027 listings. [2] It can suit a short Botswana visit or a traveler who plans to add another destination.
Lodge travel is best for visitors who value comfort and easy scheduling. Premium Chobe trips can reach $5,500 or more per person. That price level suits private groups, special occasions, and travelers who want more space, better rooms, or a longer stay.
Families should ask about child rates, room layouts, and age limits for boat trips. Couples may prefer a private vehicle or a lodge near the river. Solo travelers should check single supplements and whether the operator guarantees a departure.
The dry season is best for wildlife viewing in Chobe. SafariFind identifies it as the strongest period for seeing animals near water. [2] As water becomes more limited, the Chobe River becomes an important focus for game drives and boat safaris.
Season affects more than animal sightings. It can change availability, room demand, and package prices. Ask for the operator’s 2027 seasonal rate before paying a deposit. A March, May, or July departure may have a different cost from a short local trip.
Chobe is a high-risk malaria zone, not a malaria-free destination. [7] Speak with a travel health professional before departure. Ask about prevention, personal medication, insect protection, and the health needs of children or older travelers.
Pack light, neutral clothing, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars, and a small day bag. Follow your guide’s rules near elephants, hippos, and crocodiles. Do not leave the vehicle or approach wildlife without clear instructions.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews. Use those details to compare services, not only the displayed price. A written quote should show the currency, deposit, cancellation rules, accommodation, meals, transfers, and activities.
Request quotes for Chobe safari packages under your 2027 budget and compare the included services before booking.
Chobe works well as part of a wider Botswana trip. Travelers can review a five-day Chief’s Island safari itinerary or compare the Central Kalahari Game Reserve safari cost. These routes create a broader wildlife journey, but they also add transport and nights.
Other planning ideas include 2027 Makgadikgadi Pans tours, the Okavango Delta, and routes through Kasane. Use only confirmed destination details when building a multi-park itinerary.
SafariFind also lists travel ideas for the Gcwihaba Caves, Ghanzi, and the Kalahari Desert. These are different experiences from Chobe’s river wildlife. Keep them separate when you compare time and cost.
A Chobe National Park safari costs $720-$5,500 or more per person in 2027. SafariFind lists $720 for a three-day camping safari and $5,500 or more for premium trips. The final amount depends on lodging, transport, trip length, meals, and included activities. [2]
The listed Chobe National Park entry fee for non-citizens is 120 BWP per person per day. SafariFind and TourRadar report this adult rate, while another guide reports 270 BWP. Confirm the current 2027 rate and category with your operator before travel. [2][5][7]
The dry season is the best time to visit Chobe National Park for wildlife viewing. Animals gather near water, which can improve sightings during game drives and Chobe River boat safaris. Ask operators for exact seasonal dates and 2027 availability before booking. [2]
You need at least three days for a short Chobe safari, while ten days suits a wider guided holiday. SafariFind lists a three-day camping option, and Newmarket Holidays lists ten-day Chobe itineraries. Choose more nights if you want both drives and river activities. [2][3]
A Chobe safari focuses on elephants, hippos, crocodiles, birds, and predators. Game drives offer land-based viewing, while Chobe River boat safaris provide water-level views. The exact sightings depend on the season, location, and daily wildlife movement. [2]
Chobe National Park is not malaria-free and is described as a high-risk malaria zone. Speak with a travel health professional before your trip. Plan prevention, insect protection, and any medication well before your 2027 departure. [7]
You can book through SafariFind, which connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. Compare package prices, request a quote, and check the listed inclusions before you pay a deposit.
Chobe National Park safari cost in 2027 starts at $720 for a short camping trip and reaches $5,500 or more for premium travel. The park is best known for elephant viewing, Chobe River cruises, hippos, crocodiles, birds, and predator sightings. Entry fees need special care because published international rates differ.
For a lower-cost trip, compare three-day camping packages and check every inclusion. For a more complete holiday, review ten-day itineraries and confirm the currency, flights, transfers, and lodging. Plan health advice early because Chobe is a high-risk malaria zone.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"I spent a week in Botswana with cultural vibes, travels & tours and had not a single dull moment. The hotels/lodges we stayed at were very clean and service was professional. On the drives I had good conversations with the tour operator as he taught me a lot about the culture and about all the different animals (which we saw a lot of). Overall I had a great experience and would definitely book again."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
