Chief's Island Safari Packages 2027: Prices by Season start at about $2,160 per person for five days. Low-season plans begin near $2,400, while high-season trips reach about $4,350. Chief's Camp rates listed for 2027 range from $2,480 to $4,490 per person sharing. Compare verified operators on SafariFind before you book.
Chief's Island safari packages can cost more than $4,000 per person because the island sits inside Botswana's Okavango Delta and uses small luxury camps. The same trip can cost much less in lower-demand periods. That price gap matters when you plan a 2027 safari.
As of August 2026, supplied planning data puts a five-day Chief's Island safari at about $2,160 per person. Low-season prices start near $2,400, while high-season prices reach about $4,350. [1] These figures help you set a budget before requesting quotes.
Chief's Island is best known for private game viewing, floodplain scenery, and luxury lodge stays. Camp prices often include meals, selected drinks, guided activities, and transfers, but each package has its own rules. Read the details closely. A low headline price may exclude flights, park fees, or charter transfers.

Chief's Island safari packages are guided Botswana trips based in or around Chief's Island in the Okavango Delta. A five-day package starts at about $2,160 per person in the supplied 2027 planning data. Low-season rates start near $2,400. High-season rates reach about $4,350. [1] The final cost depends on camp type and included services.
Chief's Island is part of the Okavango Delta, where safari camps use the floodplain and nearby channels for wildlife activities. A lodge stay may include morning and afternoon game drives. Some camps also offer walking trips or water-based activities when local conditions allow.
Chief's Camp is a leading price reference for the island. Its listed 2027 rate is $4,490 per person sharing from 1 to 31 October. That rate is fully inclusive of meals and selected beverages. [2] The November rate drops to $3,510 per person sharing.
Chief's Camp lists a further rate of $2,480 per person sharing from 21 December 2027 to 2 January 2028. [2] This date block shows why you should compare exact travel dates. Two guests can receive very different quotes for the same camp.
Known for: Chief's Island is known for lodge-based wildlife viewing in the Okavango Delta. Best for: The destination suits couples, families with suitable camp policies, and travelers who prefer a quieter trip with a guide.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Compare 2027 Chief's Island safari packages by price and duration before you request a quote.
Chief's Island safari prices matter because the daily camp rate often forms the largest part of your budget. A package can look affordable until you add flights, air transfers, drinks, or extra activities. Ask each operator for one total price per person.
Chief's Island also works well as part of a wider Botswana safari. Some travelers add a stay in Chobe National Park. Others begin in Maun, the main gateway for many Okavango trips. The right route depends on time, budget, and flight plans.
Chief's Island safari packages cost about $2,160 to $4,350 per person for five-day 2027 planning options. A specific luxury camp can cost $2,480 to $4,490 per person sharing, based on the published Chief's Camp dates. [1][2] Treat these figures as planning prices, then confirm availability and inclusions with an operator.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Five-day Chief's Island planning package | From $2,160 per person [1] | 5 days | Not supplied | Travelers seeking the lowest stated package entry price |
| Low-season Chief's Island planning rate | From $2,400 per person [1] | Not supplied | Not supplied | Travelers with flexible dates |
| High-season Chief's Island planning rate | About $4,350 per person [1] | Not supplied | Not supplied | Travelers prioritizing peak-season demand |
| Chief's Camp, 1 to 31 October 2027 | $4,490 per person sharing [2] | Camp stay | Not supplied | Guests booking an October luxury camp stay |
| Chief's Camp, 1 November to 20 December 2027 | $3,510 per person sharing [2] | Camp stay | Not supplied | Guests seeking a lower listed camp rate |
| Chief's Camp, 21 December 2027 to 2 January 2028 | $2,480 per person sharing [2] | Camp stay | Not supplied | Travelers using the listed festive-period rate |
October 2027 is the most expensive listed Chief's Camp period at $4,490 per person sharing. November to 20 December falls to $3,510. The 21 December to 2 January period lists $2,480. [2] These are clear date-based examples, not a promise that every camp follows the same calendar.
Low-season travel can reduce the lodge cost, but you still need to check what the operator includes. Ask about accommodation, meals, selected drinks, game drives, park fees, air transfers, and airport pickup. The phrase "fully inclusive" only helps when you know which services it covers.
Wilderness Mombo is listed at $2,889 to $5,043 per person sharing per night, depending on the time of year. [6] This comparison shows how premium camps can sit far above a five-day entry package. It also shows why you should compare total nights, not only the package headline.
When a price ceiling matters, request a written quote with every fee shown. Request quotes from verified Chief's Island safari operators under your target budget and check authentic reviews before paying a deposit.
Plan a Chief's Island safari by fixing your dates, trip length, and total budget first. Then compare camp rates, inclusions, and transfer plans. A five-day itinerary gives you a clear starting point, while flexible dates may help you access the $2,400 low-season planning rate instead of the $4,350 high-season figure. [1]
Maun is a practical planning point for many Okavango trips. Read the Maun safari and city guide for 2027 if you want to add a night before or after your island stay.
Ask whether your quote uses a per-person sharing rate. Ask whether the price applies to two travelers sharing one room. These details can change your final bill, especially for solo travelers or families who need more than one room.
Ask about water activities before you book. A Chief's Island day tour listed for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 depends on water levels. The listed price is $325 per person for two travelers, $200 per person for groups of three to four, and $145 per person for groups of five or more. [5]
That day tour price is not the same as a 2027 lodge package. It is useful as a separate reference for travelers who want a shorter guided outing. The dates also end on 31 March 2027, so ask whether a later rate applies to your travel date.
Compare the number of nights first. Then compare the activities and transfer time. A cheaper rate may suit you if it includes the same core services. A higher rate may make sense when it adds private guiding, a better room, or more flexible activities.
Use SafariFind to compare tour operators, package details, and traveler feedback in one place. Do not choose on price alone. A clear itinerary and fast answers can save trouble once you reach Botswana.
For a wider route, compare the Botswana safari cost guide for first-time travelers. If you prefer driving yourself, the seven-day Botswana self-drive itinerary offers a different way to plan your trip, though it is not a direct substitute for a guided island lodge stay.
A five-day Chief's Island itinerary usually centers on repeated wildlife outings from one camp. The exact schedule depends on the operator, camp, water levels, and arrival plan. Ask for the daily outline before you pay, especially if you want both game drives and water activities.
Day one often covers arrival, transfer, camp check-in, and an afternoon activity. The middle days allow more time for guided drives or walks. The final day usually includes a morning activity, breakfast, and a transfer back toward the next stop or airport.
Chief's Island does not suit travelers who want a busy city schedule. The island works better for guests who enjoy early starts, time outdoors, and quiet evenings at camp. That slower pace is the point, although it can feel too calm if you want constant movement.
Known for: Chief's Island is known for a focused Okavango Delta camp experience. Best for: It is best for couples, photographers, and travelers who want a small-group safari. Families should confirm age rules and room arrangements before booking.
Pack light if your itinerary uses a small aircraft. Your operator should give you the current baggage limit. Follow that limit rather than guessing. A soft-sided bag often works better than a hard suitcase, but confirm the rule with your operator.
Read reviews for details, not only star scores. Look for repeated comments about guide skill, room comfort, meal quality, transfer timing, and how the operator handled changes. One dramatic review tells you less than several recent reviews that describe the same part of the trip.
SafariFind lists verified tour operators and authentic reviews so you can compare the service behind the price. You can also compare a Chief's Island stay with other Botswana options, including 2027 luxury lodges in Moremi Game Reserve.
Botswana has several safari areas, and each adds a different travel style. Chobe National Park suits travelers who want river-based wildlife viewing. The 2027 Chobe safari price guide can help you compare another region.
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park offers a different setting from the Okavango floodplain. You can add it only if your schedule and transfer plan make sense. More stops do not always create a better safari. Extra travel can reduce time in camp.
Chief's Island safari packages start at about $2,160 per person for five days in the supplied 2027 planning data. Low-season pricing starts near $2,400, while high-season pricing reaches about $4,350. The final quote depends on camp type, dates, room sharing, transfers, and included services. [1]
The cheapest listed Chief's Camp rate is $2,480 per person sharing for 21 December 2027 to 2 January 2028. The rate is listed as fully inclusive of meals and selected beverages. Confirm the full terms, room type, and availability before booking. [2]
The most expensive listed Chief's Camp period is 1 to 31 October 2027, at $4,490 per person sharing. The rate includes meals and selected beverages. October is one published date block, so do not assume every Chief's Island camp uses the same price. [2]
A five-day Chief's Island safari is the clearest starting plan in the supplied 2027 data. It gives you arrival time, several activity periods, and a departure day. Add nights only when the extra wildlife time justifies the higher camp and transfer cost.
Yes, a listed Chief's Island day tour costs $325 per person for two travelers, $200 for groups of three to four, and $145 for groups of five or more. Those rates apply from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, and the boat trip depends on water levels. [5]
Compare verified safari packages on SafariFind, check authentic reviews, and request a written quote from an operator. Confirm dates, room sharing, meals, drinks, transfers, flights, and cancellation terms before you pay a deposit.
Chief's Island safari packages cost about $2,160 to $4,350 per person for five-day 2027 planning options. Luxury camp rates can run higher, with Chief's Camp listing $4,490 per person sharing for October and $2,480 for 21 December 2027 to 2 January 2028. [1][2]
Choose the lowest suitable rate if your dates are flexible. Choose October if the published Chief's Camp rate and your travel plans fit the budget. Either way, ask for a full quote that separates camp costs, transfers, flights, and fees.

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"I spent a week in Botswana with cultural vibes, travels & tours and had not a single dull moment. The hotels/lodges we stayed at were very clean and service was professional. On the drives I had good conversations with the tour operator as he taught me a lot about the culture and about all the different animals (which we saw a lot of). Overall I had a great experience and would definitely book again."
