A three-day Zambia safari starts at USD 750, while an 11-day itinerary reaches USD 26,809 in the published 2027 package range.[1]
Busanga Plains Balloon Safari Packages 2027: Cost Guide prices start at USD 750 for a short Kafue itinerary and reach USD 26,809 for an 11-day Zambia trip.[1] Balloon flights run from July through October in Busanga Plains, Kafue National Park. A dedicated Busanga Plains stay starts at USD 1,448 per person sharing for the June to October 2027 season.[2][8]
Busanga Plains Balloon Safari Packages 2027: Cost Guide explains what you pay for a balloon safari in northern Kafue National Park. It covers published prices, travel dates, camp rates, package length, and the services that change the final bill. The guide uses 2027 rates available in October 2026.
Busanga Plains is a seasonal wetland in Zambia's Kafue National Park. The area is known for open grassland, seasonal water, game drives, and camp-based wildlife trips. Balloon flights are reported to operate from July through October, when operators can run this experience in the plains.[1]
Known for: Busanga Plains is known for wide floodplain views and seasonal safari access. A balloon flight adds a high view of the area, while game drives keep you close to wildlife on the ground. The two experiences work well together because they show the same habitat from different heights.
Best for: Busanga Plains is best for travelers who want a quieter Kafue trip, couples marking a special occasion, and photographers who value broad morning views. It also suits visitors building a longer Zambia route that includes another park or a stop near Lake Itezhi Tezhi.
Busanga Plains balloon safari packages are seasonal rather than year-round. Therefore, your travel dates matter before you compare prices. A July, August, September, or October trip gives you the best match with the reported flight season.[1]
Kafue National Park is also a strong choice for travelers who want more than a single activity. Broader packages can include drives, walking trips, boat outings, meals, park fees, and charter flights. The package price rises when the operator adds more nights and more transport.
Read the month-by-month Kafue safari guide for 2027 before choosing dates. It helps you line up the balloon season with the wider park experience.
Explore 2027 safari packages with verified operators and compare Busanga Plains trip costs.
Busanga Plains balloon safari packages cost from USD 1,448 per person sharing for a published June to October 2027 camp rate. Shorter Kafue itineraries start at USD 750, while a longer 11-day Zambia itinerary reaches USD 26,809.[1][2][8] The right comparison depends on what the price includes.
Price range: Published 2027 packages run from USD 750 for three days to USD 26,809 for 11 days.[1] This is a broad range. It includes different trip lengths, camp types, park combinations, transfers, and room choices. It does not describe one standard balloon flight price.
| Package type | Published price | Published duration or season |
|---|---|---|
| Short Kafue itinerary | From USD 750 | 3 days |
| Busanga Plains safari | From USD 1,448 per person sharing | June to October 2027 |
| Kafue and Busanga Plains package | From USD 5,200 per person sharing | 6 days and 5 nights |
| Premium Kafue and Busanga Plains package | From USD 8,500 per person sharing | 6 days and 5 nights |
| Long Zambia itinerary | USD 26,809 | 11 days |
The USD 5,200 package includes meals, local drinks, game drives, guided walks, boat trips, park fees, and charter flights. A premium version with a balloon safari is listed from USD 8,500 per person sharing.[4] This example shows why a balloon trip often costs more than a basic park stay.
Busanga Bush Camp is listed from USD 1,448 per person sharing for 1 June to 31 October 2027.[8] That rate gives you a useful planning point for the main season. Ask for the full inclusion list before comparing it with a complete package.
Luxury Zambia safari estimates range from USD 1,100 to USD 2,530 per person per night.[2] A premium Busanga trip can therefore sit within the wider luxury safari market, especially when flights, guides, private transfers, and several camps form one itinerary.
Use the Kafue National Park safari cost guide to compare a balloon-focused stay with other Kafue options. Then check the actual inclusions, not only the headline rate.
Request quotes from verified tour operators for your 2027 budget, dates, and balloon safari needs.
The final Busanga Plains safari price depends on nights, camp type, room choice, transfers, and the number of parks included. The balloon flight is only one part of the trip. Your route to Kafue and your choice of vehicle or charter flight can change the total.
A three-day trip has fewer camp nights and activities than an 11-day Zambia itinerary. Published prices show the effect clearly. The short package starts at USD 750, while the longer itinerary reaches USD 26,809.[1] Longer trips can also include more than one park.
Camp style affects the nightly cost. A simple tented stay and a premium camp package do not offer the same space, service, or location. Busanga Bush Camp rates for the 2027 main season start at USD 1,448 per person sharing.[8]
Transport can include road transfers, domestic flights, or charter flights. The 6-day Kafue and Busanga package priced from USD 5,200 includes charter flights, along with meals, drinks, activities, and park fees.[4] A cheaper quote may leave some transport outside the headline cost.
Game drives, guided walks, boat trips, and park fees add value to a package. The published premium package from USD 8,500 includes a balloon safari, while the lower package from USD 5,200 lists several land and water activities.[4]
A Busanga trip can sit inside a wider Zambia journey. Some visitors start in Lusaka, while others connect the safari with Victoria Falls. Extra stops bring more nights and transfers, but they can make the journey feel less rushed.
Travelers who want a different walking experience can compare the Luangwa Valley walking safari prices for 2027. Busanga focuses on open plains and balloon views. Luangwa focuses more on walking and a different park setting.
Book a Busanga Plains balloon safari for July through October 2027, because that is the reported balloon flight season.[1] Start planning in October 2026 if you want a specific camp, room type, or private transfer. Early planning also gives you time to compare a basic stay with a full package.
July and August suit travelers who want to visit early in the balloon season. September and October also fall within the reported operating period.[1] Your operator should confirm the flight date, weather policy, meeting time, and backup plan before you pay.
Best time to visit: July through October is the clearest match for a Busanga balloon safari in 2027.[1] A June to October camp rate is also published for Busanga Bush Camp, but the balloon flight period is reported as July through October.[1][8]
Balloon flights depend on safe flying conditions. Ask whether the activity is included in your package or priced as an upgrade. The premium 6-day package with a balloon safari starts at USD 8,500 per person sharing.[4]
October travel can work well for people who want the final part of the published flight window. However, you should confirm the exact operating dates with the operator. The package page should also explain what happens if the flight cannot run.
Getting to Busanga Plains usually means combining a Zambia arrival point with road or charter transport into Kafue National Park. The exact route depends on your package. A published 6-day package includes charter flights, which shows that air transfers can form part of a complete Busanga itinerary.[4]
Getting there: Many travelers begin with an arrival in Lusaka, then connect with the safari operator's planned transfer. Others add Victoria Falls before or after Kafue. Your quote should list each transfer, flight, road segment, and overnight stop.
Do not judge a package by its safari days alone. A lower price may cover camp nights but leave transfers separate. A higher price can include charter flights, park fees, meals, and activities, which makes the comparison fairer.
Travelers arriving near Victoria Falls can read where to stay near Victoria Falls in 2027 before planning a longer route. Travelers starting in Lusaka can use the Lusaka activities and day trip guide to plan time before the safari.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators. You can read authentic traveler reviews, compare package details, and request a quote that matches your dates and room choice.
The right Busanga Plains package matches your budget, trip length, and need for included transport. Choose a short Kafue itinerary if you want a lower starting price. Choose the 6-day package if you want several activities and charter flights in one plan.
A USD 750 starting price suits travelers looking at a short, broader Kafue itinerary.[1][2] A dedicated Busanga stay from USD 1,448 per person sharing gives a stronger planning figure for the June to October season.[2][8] A balloon upgrade needs a larger budget, with one premium example starting at USD 8,500.[4]
Use the Zambia safari lodge rate guide for 2027 to check how camp level can shape your wider budget. Then compare operators by what they include, not only by price.
Keep a written list of included services. This simple step prevents a cheap quote from becoming expensive after you add flights, meals, park fees, and activities.
Busanga Plains balloon safari packages cost from USD 1,448 per person sharing for a published June to October 2027 camp rate. A premium six-day package with a balloon safari starts at USD 8,500 per person sharing. Broader Zambia itineraries range from USD 750 to USD 26,809.[1][2][4][8]
When do balloon flights operate in Busanga Plains?Balloon flights in Busanga Plains are reported to operate from July through October.[1] A Busanga camp rate covers June to October, so travelers should confirm the exact balloon dates before booking. Weather and operator schedules can affect the flight plan.
What does a six-day Kafue and Busanga package include?A published six-day and five-night package from USD 5,200 includes meals, local drinks, game drives, guided walks, boat trips, park fees, and charter flights.[4] A premium version with a balloon safari starts at USD 8,500 per person sharing.[4]
Is USD 750 enough for a Busanga Plains safari?USD 750 is the published starting price for a three-day broader Kafue itinerary, not a standard all-inclusive balloon package.[1][2] Confirm the nights, camp, transfers, park fees, and balloon activity before using that figure as your final budget.
What is the best month for a Busanga Plains balloon safari?July through October is the best published window for a Busanga Plains balloon safari because flights are reported to operate during those months.[1] September and October also fit the published flight period. Confirm the exact operating dates and weather policy with your operator.
How can I book a verified Busanga Plains safari?SafariFind helps travelers compare verified tour operators, package prices, and authentic reviews. You can request a quote for your 2027 dates, then check whether the balloon flight, transfers, meals, and park fees appear in the written itinerary.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
