Boulders Beach is one of the few Cape Town stops where African penguins live beside a public beach.
Boulders Beach tours 2027: prices, trips and booking options are available through Cape Town day tours and wider South Africa itineraries. SafariFind lists Boulders Beach trips for 2027, but no confirmed Boulders-specific price is published yet [2]. Current listings show trips in February, March, and April 2027, so check dates early and compare verified operators before paying.
Boulders Beach tours 2027: prices, trips and booking choices cover short Cape Peninsula visits and longer South Africa holidays. The beach sits near Simon's Town, south of Cape Town. Tour programs often combine the penguin colony with Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive, and Kalk Bay.
Boulders Beach is best known for close views of African penguins from a boardwalk and viewing area. Cosmos describes the site as a place to observe an endangered penguin colony [3]. However, the 2027 listings reviewed for this guide do not give one fixed price for a stand-alone Boulders Beach tour.
The safest approach is simple. Check the exact date, ask what the price includes, and compare the operator's reviews. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews. This guide explains what current listings show as of October 2026.
Quick answer: Boulders Beach tours in 2027 are Cape Peninsula trips that include penguin viewing near Cape Town. Published sources show February, March, and April departures, but no confirmed stand-alone price. A 2027 booking should state transport, guide services, entrance costs, meals, and free time before you pay.
Boulders Beach tours are guided visits to the African penguin colony near Simon's Town. Most trips place the beach within a Cape Peninsula route, rather than selling it as a separate wildlife holiday. The route may include Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive, and nearby coastal towns.
Boulders Beach is known for its boardwalk views and African penguins. Visitors normally watch the birds from a managed viewing area. A guided trip also gives you a planned route between Cape Town and the peninsula. That matters because several major stops can fill one busy day.
Cosmos includes Boulders Beach in its South Africa program and describes the stop as penguin viewing. The same listing promotes selected 2027 departures with savings of $200 per couple [3]. That saving applies to the wider Cosmos tour offer. It is not a published Boulders Beach entrance price.
CNH Tours lists an April 6 to 19, 2027 itinerary that includes Chapman’s Peak Drive and Boulders Beach near Simon's Town. The listing also says that the trip is sold out [4]. This shows why early checks matter. A listed departure is not the same as an available seat.
Macs-Explore lists a February 21, 2027 guided Cape Peninsula tour. Its route includes Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach penguins, Chapman’s Peak Drive, and Kalk Bay [5]. This is a useful model for the classic day route, even though the source does not state a Boulders-only price.
SafariFind lists Boulders Beach trips among Cape Town activities for 2027. Its Cape Town guide includes city tours, wine tours, Table Mountain visits, Boulders Beach, and an Aquila Game Reserve day tour [2]. The Aquila listing costs about $276 per person with return transport and lunch. That figure is for Aquila, not for a Boulders Beach tour.
Compare Cape Town activities and 2027 trip ideas on SafariFind before choosing a Boulders Beach route.
Boulders Beach adds a short wildlife stop to a wider Cape Town visit. It suits travelers who want penguins without committing to a multi-day safari. The stop also pairs well with a coastal drive, but a packed itinerary can leave little time at each location. Ask the operator how long you will spend at the beach.
No verified source in the current research gives a fixed 2027 price for a stand-alone Boulders Beach tour. SafariFind lists the activity but does not publish a specific Boulders price [2]. Therefore, you should treat any online quote as an operator-specific offer until it shows inclusions and terms.
Price range: No confirmed Boulders Beach range is available as of October 2026. The only clear Cape Town activity price in the supplied research is about $276 per person for an Aquila Game Reserve day tour. That price includes return transport and lunch, but it is not a Boulders Beach tour price [2].
Wider South Africa tours may show a total package price instead. That total can include hotels, meals, guides, transfers, and several destinations. It should not be compared directly with a half-day or full-day Cape Peninsula trip. Read the itinerary first, then compare what each quote covers.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Boulders Beach trip, SafariFind listing | Not published | Not published | Check current listing | Penguin viewing near Cape Town |
| Aquila Game Reserve day tour | About $276 per person [2] | Day tour | Not stated | Travelers seeking a reserve day trip |
| CNH Tours South Africa itinerary | Not stated | April 6 to 19, 2027 | Not stated | Longer regional travel, sold out [4] |
| Macs-Explore South Africa trip | Not stated | February 2027 itinerary | Not stated | Guided Cape Peninsula touring [5] |
Affordable Tours promotes penguin viewing at Boulders Beach for a South Africa departure in March 2027 [8]. The source confirms the activity and month, but it does not provide a price in the supplied research. Legit Trips mentions early-bird pricing for 2027 trips that ended November 1, while its displayed Cape Town itinerary is dated May 21 to 29, 2029 [6]. Check the travel year carefully.
Compare South Africa package pricing and booking terms when you want a wider trip that includes more than the Cape Peninsula.
Start by choosing between a Cape Peninsula day tour and a longer South Africa itinerary. A day tour suits travelers based in Cape Town. A longer trip suits travelers who want penguins alongside other cities, reserves, and cultural stops.
Getting there: Organized tours normally connect Cape Town with the Cape Peninsula by road. The supplied listings describe guided routes that include Boulders Beach, Cape Point, and coastal roads [4][5]. A booking should state whether transport begins at your hotel, a central meeting point, or another location.
Pick a route with enough time at Boulders Beach. A long list of stops may sound useful, but it can reduce your penguin viewing time. Ask for the planned arrival and departure times. Also ask whether the operator changes the route when weather affects coastal roads.
Check the group size before booking. A smaller group may make hotel collection and photo stops easier. A larger coach can cost less, but it may follow a tighter schedule. The best choice depends on your budget, mobility, and interest in photography.
Families should ask about walking distances and boardwalk access. Photographers should ask about viewing rules and time at the colony. Travelers with limited time should choose a Cape Peninsula route rather than a wider South Africa circuit.
Macs-Explore lists a February 21, 2027 Cape Peninsula day in its South Africa itinerary [5]. Affordable Tours promotes a March 2027 departure with penguin viewing [8]. CNH Tours lists April 6 to 19, 2027, but marks that itinerary sold out [4]. These listings show demand, but they do not create one official Boulders Beach season.
Cosmos advertises selected 2027 departures and a $200-per-couple saving [3]. Savings may have conditions, so read the full offer before relying on it. Legit Trips also shows that early-bird deadlines can pass before the travel year begins [6]. Book early when a date matters, then confirm the booking in writing.
Request a quote for a 2027 Cape Town penguin trip through SafariFind and compare the operator's inclusions, reviews, and dates.
Keep a respectful distance from the penguins and follow the site's visitor rules. Do not feed wildlife. A good guide will explain where you can stand and how to avoid blocking other visitors.
A Boulders Beach stop can work as one part of a larger South Africa holiday. The right route depends on whether you want coastal scenery, city time, wildlife reserves, or all three. Do not assume every safari package includes Cape Town or the penguin colony.
Travelers often combine Cape Town with a separate wildlife stay. SafariFind lists destinations such as Kruger National Park, Addo Elephant National Park, and MalaMala Private Game Reserve for travelers building a wider South Africa itinerary.
These destinations serve different travel goals. Kruger suits travelers who want a large safari region. Addo suits visitors planning time near the Eastern Cape. MalaMala suits travelers seeking a private reserve experience. A Boulders Beach visit adds coastal wildlife, not a replacement for a game drive.
Travelers focused on Cape Town can read SafariFind's guide to Cape Town tours, safaris, and prices for 2027. It places Boulders Beach among other city activities. That makes it easier to compare a penguin visit with Table Mountain, wine country, and a reserve day trip.
A South Africa tour scheduled for March 9 to 19, 2028 includes a boardwalk visit to Boulders Beach's African penguin colonies. That itinerary lasts 10 nights and includes Cape Town, Oudtshoorn, and Johannesburg [1]. It is outside the target 2027 travel year, but it shows how Boulders Beach can fit into a multi-city trip.
Do not use the 2028 itinerary as a 2027 price guide. Dates, hotels, and inclusions can change. Use it only as an example of a longer route, then request a current 2027 quote from a verified operator.
No confirmed stand-alone Boulders Beach tour price is published in the supplied 2027 research. SafariFind lists the activity without a specific rate. The separate Aquila Game Reserve day tour costs about $276 per person, but that price does not apply to Boulders Beach [2].
Boulders Beach tours may include road transport from Cape Town, a guide, and penguin viewing. Wider Cape Peninsula routes can add Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive, and Kalk Bay. Confirm every inclusion with the operator before booking [4][5].
Current listings show Boulders Beach visits in February, March, and April 2027. Macs-Explore lists February 21, Affordable Tours promotes March 2027, and CNH Tours lists April 6 to 19, although that trip is sold out [4][5][8].
Yes. Boulders Beach commonly appears on Cape Peninsula routes from Cape Town. The route may include Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive, and Kalk Bay. Ask how much time the itinerary allows at the penguin colony.
Use SafariFind to compare available Cape Town trips, verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews. Request a quote that confirms the 2027 date, price, transport, entrance fees, meals, and cancellation policy before you pay.
Boulders Beach tours in 2027 are Cape Peninsula trips built around African penguin viewing near Cape Town. Current listings show February, March, and April options, but they do not provide one confirmed stand-alone price. One April itinerary is already sold out, so availability deserves attention now [4].
Choose a day tour if you are staying in Cape Town. Choose a wider South Africa itinerary if you want Cape Town, coastal stops, and safari time in one holiday. Treat the $276 Aquila price as a separate reserve tour figure, not a Boulders Beach quote [2].
Before booking, confirm the route, beach time, transport, entrance fees, meals, group size, and refund rules. Read reviews and compare operators rather than choosing from a headline price alone.
Compare verified Boulders Beach and Cape Town tour options on SafariFind, request a quote, and check authentic traveler reviews. With 2027 planning underway in October 2026, a clear itinerary gives you the best chance of securing the date you want.

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"

"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."
5★ - "This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian org" - Sarah • Verified review
"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."

"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."
