Boulders Beach tours in 2027 take you from Cape Town to see African penguins near Simon's Town. A Cape Town day tour that includes Boulders Beach, Table Mountain, Cape Point, and other stops is listed at $49 per person. Current 2027 listings show February, March, and April departures, so check dates early.[1][2]
One April 2027 Boulders Beach itinerary is already sold out, even though the year is still ahead.[1]
Boulders Beach Tours 2027: Prices and Cape Town Packages are built around a simple idea. You leave Cape Town, follow the Cape Peninsula, and stop near a colony of African penguins. Some trips stay focused on the beach. Others add Cape Point, Table Mountain, Hout Bay, Simon's Town, Kalk Bay, and Chapman’s Peak Drive.[1][2]
Prices need a careful look. The current research shows a $49 Cape Town day tour with several major stops, but it does not give a confirmed stand-alone price for every Boulders Beach trip.[2] That difference matters when you compare packages. A low headline price may cover transport and a guide, while entrance fees or cableway tickets may sit outside the package.
SafariFind connects travellers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. This guide explains what to check before you book, how long the trip may take, and which package details deserve a clear answer.
Quick answer: Boulders Beach tours in 2027 are Cape Peninsula trips from Cape Town, with African penguin viewing as the main draw. Current listings show February, March, and April dates. One wider Cape Town tour costs $49 per person, while a separate listing runs for 8 hours. Confirm inclusions before paying.[1][2][5]
Boulders Beach tours in 2027 are guided Cape Peninsula trips that include African penguin viewing near Cape Town. Most tours use road transport and connect Boulders Beach with other sights along the peninsula. The route suits visitors who want wildlife without leaving the Cape Town area for several days.[1]
Boulders Beach is known for close-range African penguin viewing. The beach sits near Simon's Town, and the penguins are the main reason travellers add this stop to a Cape Peninsula day. Seeing penguins in the wild feels very different from visiting a city aquarium. You watch their movement, listen for calls, and follow the rules set around the viewing area.
Penguin sightings are generally expected, but they are not guaranteed. Penguin activity changes, so no responsible operator should promise a fixed number of birds or a perfect viewing moment.[8] Ask how the operator handles wildlife sightings before you reserve your seat.
A wider route may include Table Mountain, Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay, and Simon's Town.[1][2] The $49 listing combines Table Mountain, Cape Point, Boulders Beach, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay, and Simon's Town in one Cape Town day tour.[2]
That route offers more variety, but it also creates a busy day. You may spend less time at each stop. A Boulders-focused trip gives you more room to enjoy the penguin viewing, ask questions, and take a slower walk near the beach.
Boulders Beach tours are best for travellers with one free day in Cape Town. They also suit families who want an easy wildlife outing, couples who prefer a guided route, and visitors without a rental car. A guide handles the driving, route planning, and timing between stops.
Cape Town is the natural base for this trip. Travellers can also compare wider South Africa safari and tour options if they plan to add a national park or private reserve after the peninsula.
Compare Cape Town safari tours and 2027 package costs if you want to add more wildlife time after Boulders Beach.
A Boulders Beach day tour has one listed comparison price of $49 per person when it forms part of a wider Cape Town route. A confirmed stand-alone Boulders Beach price is not given in the current listings, so compare the exact itinerary, ticket costs, and transport before booking.[1][2]
The $49 price applies to a Cape Town combination tour. It includes Boulders Beach alongside Table Mountain, Cape Point, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay, and Simon's Town.[2] It should not be treated as the confirmed price for every Boulders Beach tour.
Large South Africa tours sit in a very different price bracket. A 16-day South Africa and Victoria Falls itinerary from Cape Town to Johannesburg is listed at $12,010. A 14-day version is listed at $9,015.[7] Those figures cover a much longer journey, so they are useful only as a wider holiday comparison.
| Tour type | Published price | Published duration | Main use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cape Town combination tour | $49 per person | Day tour | Boulders Beach plus major peninsula sights |
| South Africa and Victoria Falls tour | $9,015 | 14 days | Multi-region holiday from Cape Town to Johannesburg |
| South Africa and Victoria Falls tour | $12,010 | 16 days | Longer national and regional tour |
Read the inclusion list line by line. Check whether the price covers road transport from Cape Town, a guide, Boulders Beach entry, lunch, and other attraction tickets. Table Mountain cableway tickets can affect the final cost when the route includes the mountain.
SafariFind helps you compare operator details, package prices, and traveller reviews in one place. Review the latest Boulders Beach tour booking details before choosing an itinerary.
Book a Boulders Beach tour as soon as your 2027 Cape Town dates are firm. Current listings show February, March, and April departures, and at least one April itinerary is already sold out.[1] Early checking gives you more choice of dates, pickup times, and tour styles.
February, March, and April are the months shown in current 2027 Boulders Beach tour listings.[1] These dates are useful for planning, but they do not create a guarantee about weather, crowd levels, or penguin activity. Check the latest departure calendar before you commit to flights and hotels.
A Cape Peninsula trip works best when you leave enough time for the full route. One listed tour departs Cape Town at 9:00 AM and runs for 8 hours.[5] That schedule shows why an early start matters. The route has several stops, and road time can reduce the time available at each attraction.
Do not plan a tight airport connection after the trip. An 8-hour tour already fills most of the day, and traffic can change the return time.[5] A relaxed plan is better than rushing through the last stop.
Travellers who want more time on the coast can also read the guide to South Africa beach tours and 2027 prices. That option works well when penguin viewing is one part of a longer coastal holiday.
A typical Boulders Beach tour combines road transport, a guide, and penguin viewing. The exact route depends on the package. A Cape Peninsula tour may also include Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay, Kalk Bay, or Table Mountain.[1][2]
Most visitors start in Cape Town and travel south along the peninsula. A guided vehicle removes the need to plan every turn or parking stop. The operator should tell you the pickup point, departure time, vehicle type, and expected return time before payment.
Simon’s Town often forms part of the route because it sits close to Boulders Beach. The day may also include viewpoints and coastal roads. Ask whether the tour stops for photos or only passes through certain areas.
Penguins are wild animals, not performers. Keep a respectful distance, follow signs, and never feed or touch them. Sightings are generally expected, but activity can change during the day.[8] A good guide explains what you are seeing without pushing the animals closer to visitors.
Bring water, sun protection, and comfortable walking shoes. Weather can shift along the coast. A light jacket helps when the vehicle leaves Cape Town early or stops at exposed viewpoints.
Choose a focused Boulders Beach trip if the penguins are your main reason for travelling. Choose a full Cape Peninsula route if you have one day and want to cover several major sights. Choose a longer South Africa itinerary if you want Boulders Beach as one stop within a wider holiday.
An 11-day, 10-night South Africa itinerary includes Cape Peninsula penguin viewing alongside other destinations.[4] That style suits travellers who want a planned national trip rather than a single Cape Town day.
Families should ask about walking distances and child prices. Couples may prefer a smaller group. Solo travellers often benefit from a guide who handles transport and shares local context. There is no single best package. The right choice depends on how much time you want at Boulders Beach.
Book with confidence by checking the operator, full itinerary, final price, and recent reviews. SafariFind connects travellers with verified tour operators, so you can compare package details before requesting a quote.
Save the written answer before you pay. It makes the package easier to compare and helps prevent surprises on the day. Review the operator rating and comments from past travellers, not only the headline price.
For travellers adding a game drive, compare South Africa safari packages for 2027 separately. A Boulders Beach day trip is a Cape Peninsula experience. It is not the same product as a Kruger safari or private reserve stay.
A listed Cape Town combination tour costs $49 per person and includes Boulders Beach with several other sights.[2] A confirmed stand-alone Boulders Beach price is not given in the current listings. Ask the operator for the final price and included entry fees.
Boulders Beach tours may include road transport from Cape Town, a guide, and penguin viewing. Wider Cape Peninsula routes may add Table Mountain, Cape Point, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay, and Simon's Town.[1][2] Confirm every inclusion before booking.
Penguin sightings are generally expected at Boulders Beach, but they are not guaranteed. Penguin activity changes, so visitors should follow wildlife rules and listen to the guide.[8] No operator should promise a fixed number of penguins.
One Cape Peninsula scenic tour is advertised as an 8-hour trip that departs Cape Town at 9:00 AM.[5] Other itineraries may use different schedules. Check the pickup time, return time, and time spent at Boulders Beach.

There is no single answer for every route or traveller. Safety depends on the exact city, region, transport plan, and current conditions. For a Boulders Beach visit, use a clear Cape Town itinerary and review the operator’s latest travel guidance.

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"
"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."
"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."
"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."
