French travellers flying directly to Ethiopia usually do not need a yellow-fever certificate, but Ethiopia requires one when arriving from a yellow-fever-risk country or after a qualifying transit. Yellow-fever vaccination is recommended for most Ethiopia itineraries, while malaria prevention depends on altitude and route.

Botswana safari cost per person in 2026 ranges from about $300 to more than $2,000 per day. Moderate camps cost $600–$800 per person per night in the green season, while luxury camps can reach $2,250 or more in peak season. Choose green season for lower rates, and compare verified packages before booking.
Botswana safari cost per person in 2026 is shaped by camp class, season, location, and travel style. Botswana follows a high-value, low-volume tourism model. Many Okavango Delta camps also need light-aircraft transfers, which adds to the final price. [1]
Botswana is known for private wildlife areas, water-based activities, and small safari camps. The Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, and Chobe National Park are the main areas highlighted in current safari pricing guides. [3] Each area offers a different setting, so your route matters as much as your room.
Quick answer: A Botswana safari costs about $300–$2,000 or more per person per day in 2026. Green-season travel gives the lowest camp rates. Moderate camps start at $600 per night, while peak-season luxury camps reach $2,250 or more. Meals, drives, fees, and transfers may be included, but international flights often are not. [2][4]
Price research helps you set a realistic budget before you request quotes. It also helps you compare a fly-in luxury trip with a simpler road-based itinerary. Use this guide to understand five practical budget tiers, included costs, and the questions to ask operators.
Botswana safari cost per person in 2026 falls into five useful planning tiers, from value travel to top-end luxury. The lower tiers normally require more careful route planning, while the higher tiers buy premium camps, private access, and more fly-in travel. These are planning bands, not a fixed national price list.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Value planning tier | $300–$599 per person per day | Set by itinerary | Compare operator reviews | Budget-focused travelers |
| Moderate camp tier | $600–$800 per person per night in green season | Set by itinerary | Compare camp reviews | First-time safari travelers |
| Premier camp tier | $825–$975 in green season | Set by itinerary | Compare operator ratings | Comfort-focused couples |
| Luxury camp tier | $1,000–$1,300 in green season | Set by itinerary | Compare camp reviews | Fly-in safari travelers |
| Peak luxury tier | $1,700–$2,250 per night in peak season | Set by itinerary | Compare verified reviews | Premium wildlife trips |
The value planning tier starts below the published moderate-camp bands. It represents the lower end of the broad 2026 daily range, rather than a guaranteed all-inclusive lodge rate. Ask whether the quote uses road transfers, shared departures, or fewer nights in premium wildlife areas.
The moderate camp tier is the clearest published starting point. Cedarberg lists all-inclusive moderate camps at $600–$800 per person per night in green season, $725–$1,050 in shoulder season, and $850–$1,200 in peak season. [4]
The premier camp tier begins at $825 in green season. Cedarberg lists premier camps at $825–$975 in green season, $1,075–$1,325 in shoulder season, and $1,250–$1,675 in peak season. [4] This tier suits travelers who want more space and service.
The luxury camp tier starts at $1,000 per person per night in green season. Listed luxury rates reach $1,300 in green season, $1,850 in shoulder season, and $2,250 in peak season. [4] Some higher luxury rates reach $1,850 in green season, $2,500 in shoulder season, and $3,100 in peak season. [4]
Known for: Botswana is known for high-value, low-volume tourism and exclusive wildlife experiences. Best for: travelers who value quiet camps, expert guiding, and remote landscapes. Price range: $300–$2,000+ per person per day in 2026.
Compare Botswana safari packages by price, season, and travel style before you choose a budget tier.
Season, accommodation, and transport create the largest differences in Botswana safari cost per person. Green season usually offers the lowest listed rates, while peak season carries the highest rates. Camp type also matters: moderate, premier, and luxury properties have separate price bands. [3][4]
Green season is the main value window in the published figures. Moderate camps cost $600–$800 per person per night then. Premier camps cost $825–$975, and luxury camps cost $1,000–$1,300. [4] These rates suit travelers who can place value ahead of peak-season demand.
Shoulder season sits between the two extremes. Moderate camps rise to $725–$1,050, premier camps reach $1,075–$1,325, and luxury camps reach $1,350–$1,850 per person per night. [4] A shoulder-season quote can offer a useful balance between price and seasonal conditions.
Peak season has the highest listed prices. Moderate camps range from $850–$1,200, premier camps from $1,250–$1,675, and luxury camps from $1,700–$2,250 per person per night. [4] The highest luxury listings can reach $3,100 per person per night. [4]
Okavango Delta access is a major cost factor. Many Delta areas are accessible only by light aircraft, and those flights connect remote camps across the wetland. Botswana’s high-value, low-volume model also limits visitor numbers, which supports higher prices. [1]
Transport is not a small line item. Ask for the cost of internal flights, road transfers, airstrip transfers, and luggage limits. A low headline price may exclude a flight between camps, while an all-inclusive quote may include it.
Many quoted packages include accommodation, all meals, scheduled game drives, park fees, conservation levies, and internal road or air transfers. International flights, visas, travel insurance, and personal extras may remain outside the quote. [2]
Current Go2Africa guidance lists Botswana mid-range safari pricing at $1,650–$2,420 per person, luxury pricing at $2,090–$2,640, and five-star options at $2,750–$5,000. [5] Because trip length and inclusions affect totals, compare like-for-like quotes.
Request a quote from verified Botswana safari operators for your budget and ask each operator to list every included transfer and fee.
Maun and Kasane are two important starting points for Botswana safari planning. Maun commonly supports travel toward the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve, while Kasane supports access to the Chobe area. Your starting town can change transfer costs and route design.
Maun is best used as a safari gateway for trips into the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. A practical plan can connect Maun with a camp, a road transfer, or a light-aircraft flight. The right choice depends on your selected camp and the inclusions in your quote.
Known for: access to Okavango Delta and Moremi safari routes. Best for: travelers who want to begin a Delta-focused trip. Price impact: remote camp access may add air-transfer costs because some Delta areas are reachable only by light aircraft. [1]
When you ask what to do in Maun Botswana, focus first on the route rather than a long list of town activities. Ask how many nights you will spend in the Delta, which airstrips you will use, and whether your operator includes transfers from Maun.
Kasane is a safari gateway for the Chobe National Park area. Current Botswana safari pricing guides highlight Chobe alongside the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. [3] A Kasane-based route can therefore suit travelers who want a Chobe-focused itinerary.
Ask whether your package includes road transfers, boat activities, scheduled drives, or onward travel. These details change the total value of a quote. They also help you compare a Chobe stay with a Delta fly-in camp.
Botswana vs Tanzania safari planning depends on the experience you want, not only the price. Botswana’s current pricing model emphasizes low-volume, high-value travel. Tanzania offers a different destination mix, so compare the exact camps, fees, transfers, and number of nights.
Use a simple comparison checklist:
For a wider route review, read the Botswana safari best time guide for 2026. It helps you connect seasonal planning with the rate bands above.
Start your Botswana safari budget by choosing a daily ceiling and a travel season. Then list camp nights, internal transfers, park fees, flights, and extras separately. This method prevents a low base rate from hiding major costs later.
Set a clear target before contacting operators. A green-season moderate camp begins at $600–$800 per person per night in the published Cedarberg figures. A green-season luxury camp begins at $1,000–$1,300. [4]
These bands give you a useful first filter. If your budget is below $600 per day, ask about road-based routes, shared departures, shorter premium-camp stays, or mixed accommodation. Do not assume that every Delta camp can meet the same price.
Use this simple budget formula: camp nights plus transfers plus excluded travel costs plus personal spending. An all-inclusive quote may cover meals, scheduled drives, park fees, conservation levies, and internal transfers. International flights, visas, insurance, and discretionary extras may remain excluded. [2]
Go2Africa’s 2026 guidance shows how wide the overall market can be. It lists mid-range Botswana safari prices at $1,650–$2,420 per person, luxury prices at $2,090–$2,640, and five-star options at $2,750–$5,000. [5] Request the trip length behind every total.
A useful comparison has the same dates, number of travelers, room type, and transfer plan. Otherwise, the cheapest quote may simply include fewer services. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews.

Travelers often ask, “what vaccines do you need for Botswana?” The correct answer depends on your travel history, departure countries, health needs, and current entry rules. Speak with a travel-health professional before departure, and check current government guidance.
Travelers also ask, “do you need yellow fever for Botswana?” Requirements can depend on where you traveled before arrival. Do not rely on a general package page for medical or border advice. Check current official rules for your nationality and route.
Visa rules also vary by passport. Questions such as “does Botswana require a visa for US citizens?” and “do Canadians need a visa for Botswana?” need current nationality-specific answers. Confirm them with the relevant Botswana mission or government travel service before booking non-refundable travel.

A Botswana safari costs about $300–$2,000 or more per person per day in 2026. Published all-inclusive moderate camps cost $600–$800 per person per night in green season, while luxury camps can reach $2,250 in peak season. [1][4]
Maun is a gateway for trips into the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. Use it to connect with a safari camp, road transfer, or light-aircraft flight, depending on your itinerary. Ask your operator which Maun transfers and activities the quoted price includes.
Kasane is a safari gateway for the Chobe National Park area. Chobe is one of the main destinations highlighted in Botswana safari pricing guides, alongside the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. [3] Confirm road transfers and activities in your package.
Vaccine advice for Botswana depends on your health, travel history, departure countries, and current entry rules. Ask a travel-health professional before departure and check current government guidance. Travelers should not treat a general safari price guide as medical advice.
Yellow fever requirements can depend on your previous travel route and nationality. Check current Botswana entry rules and speak with a travel-health professional before travel. Carry any required certificate with your passport and other travel documents.
Visa rules depend on nationality, passport details, and current policy. US citizens and Canadians should confirm the latest requirements with an official Botswana mission or government travel service before booking. "On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"I spent a week in Botswana with cultural vibes, travels & tours and had not a single dull moment. The hotels/lodges we stayed at were very clean and service was professional. On the drives I had good conversations with the tour operator as he taught me a lot about the culture and about all the different animals (which we saw a lot of). Overall I had a great experience and would definitely book again."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
