A Kasane safari in 2027 costs from about $100 per person for short tours to more than $10,000 for long luxury trips, excluding international flights. Kasane is a strong starting point for Chobe National Park, river cruises, and wider Botswana routes. Compare verified SafariFind packages, check inclusions, and request quotes before 2027 dates fill.
Kasane is the starting point for 9 listed Botswana tours, compared with 3 from Maun and 1 from the Okavango Delta [8]. That makes a Kasane safari in 2027 a practical choice for travelers who want Chobe wildlife without a long first transfer.
Kasane sits near the northern border of Botswana. The town also provides access to the Chobe River and nearby border routes. You can begin with a morning game drive, add a sunset boat cruise, or continue toward Victoria Falls and other regional stops.
Quick answer: A Kasane safari in 2027 suits travelers who want flexible trip lengths. Listed options run from half a day to 21 or more days. Prices start near $100 per person, while luxury camps can charge about $800 per person per night. Flights from Johannesburg usually add $250–$400 one way [2][6].
This guide explains the main package types, expected costs, route choices, and booking steps. It uses current research available in August 2026. Treat advertised rates as planning figures, then confirm dates, taxes, transfers, and availability with your selected operator.
A Kasane safari in 2027 is a wildlife trip that starts in Kasane and usually visits Chobe National Park. Packages can include game drives, Chobe River cruises, accommodation, meals, park fees, transfers, and guide services. The exact mix depends on the trip length and comfort level.
Chobe National Park is the main safari focus near Kasane. Chobe itineraries commonly pair early game drives with boat cruises on the Chobe River [4]. This combination gives you two viewing angles: a vehicle on land and a boat on the water.
Kasane is also useful for longer southern Africa journeys. One advertised nine-day Botswana itinerary ends in Kasane after a Chobe River boat cruise [7]. Therefore, you can start elsewhere, such as Maun, and finish in Kasane. You can also reverse the route if flights or prices work better.
Kasane safari packages offer several clear features. Short tours help travelers with limited time. Longer trips connect Chobe with the Okavango Delta, Makgadikgadi, or other Botswana regions. Luxury packages focus on private camps, guided activities, and high service levels.
Kasane matters because it reduces the need for a long internal transfer before your first activity. The town has a larger share of listed Botswana departures than Maun or the Okavango Delta [8]. That does not make every Kasane package better. It does make comparison easier for short trips and fly-in travelers.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Compare Kasane safari packages for 2027 by price, duration, and route before choosing your preferred style.
For a wider route plan, read this 7-day Botswana safari itinerary for 2027. It can help you decide whether Kasane should begin or end your trip.
A Kasane safari in 2027 costs from about $100 per person for short, basic tours to more than $10,000 for extended packages. The published range excludes international flights and covers many trip styles, from half-day outings to 21-plus-day journeys [6]. Your final quote depends on lodging, transport, meals, activities, and group size.
The 2027 planning range becomes clearer when you compare real examples. A listed four-day luxury Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge safari costs $920 per person. It uses shared vehicles with a maximum of 10 people [6]. This option sits above basic day tours but below high-end multi-camp journeys.
Wilderness Botswana camps advertise rates from about $800 per person per night. The nightly rate includes twice-daily game drives or water activities, guided walking safaris, park fees, and most beverages [5]. This price shows why luxury Botswana safaris can rise quickly, even before flights and private transfers.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Kasane departures | From $100 per person [6] | Half day or longer | Not stated | Short visits and tight budgets |
| Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge | $920 per person [6] | 4 days | Not stated | Shared luxury lodge travel |
| Wilderness Botswana camps | From about $800 per person per night [5] | Usually part of 7–14 nights | Not stated | Fully inclusive luxury trips |
Flights are a separate cost for many international visitors. Flights from Johannesburg to Kasane or Maun are reported at about $250–$400 one way [2]. International flights from Europe or North America may cost more, so keep air travel outside your safari package budget.
SafariFind helps you compare operators instead of judging one quote alone. Request a quote from verified Kasane safari operators and compare inclusions before paying a deposit.
For fee details, review this guide to the Chobe National Park safari cost in 2027. Also consider the separate costs of a Chobe night drive package if your itinerary includes one.
The best Kasane safari route depends on your time and travel goal. A short route stays in Chobe and combines game drives with a river cruise. A longer route links Kasane with Maun, the Okavango Delta, or other parks over 7–14 nights.
Kasane to Chobe is the simplest route for a first safari. You can schedule an early game drive, rest during the hottest part of the day, and take a Chobe River cruise later. This plan works well for two to four nights and limits road transfers.
Chobe River cruises add a different view of wildlife. The boat lets you watch animals near the water while avoiding the movement of a vehicle. Early drives then place you on land during a separate activity period [4]. Ask operators how they schedule both activities.
Kasane works well for travelers who want a safari and a nearby regional landmark. Border transfers require planning, however. Ask about passports, border fees, transfer times, and luggage rules before booking a combined itinerary.
Kazungula is an important regional travel point near Kasane. Link your transfer plan to your flight schedule, because a late arrival can reduce your first safari activity. Operators should state whether the quote includes private transfer or shared transport.
Maun and the Okavango Delta suit travelers who want a wider Botswana experience. Wilderness states that guests commonly combine two or three camps across ecosystems such as the Okavango Delta and Linyanti over 7–14 nights [5]. Kasane can then provide a strong final stop.
This longer route costs more because it adds nights, transfers, and often light-aircraft travel. However, it also spreads your wildlife viewing across different habitats. Compare the full itinerary rather than comparing nightly prices alone.
Travelers with more than one week can add destinations beyond Chobe. The Makgadikgadi Pans National Park offers a different landscape from the Chobe River. The 2027 Makgadikgadi Pans tour guide can help you compare salt-pan stops and travel time.
Other possible Botswana extensions include the Kalahari Desert, Ghanzi, Tau Pan, Gcwihaba Caves, Francistown, and Kanye. These places require a careful route plan. Do not add them without checking road distances, flights, and available nights.
Book a Kasane safari in 2027 by choosing your dates, setting a total budget, comparing inclusions, and checking operator reviews. Start with the route, not the lodge. A clear route prevents expensive transfers and helps operators build accurate quotes.
Choose a half-day, two-night, four-day, seven-day, or 7–14-night plan. Half-day trips suit travelers passing through Kasane. Four days allow time for both Chobe drives and river activities. Longer trips make sense when you add Maun, the Okavango Delta, or another region.
Budget tours may use shared vehicles and simple accommodation. Mid-range packages often balance lodge comfort with group activities. Luxury camps can start near $800 per person per night, with meals, park fees, and guided activities included [5]. Ask for a full cost breakdown.
Verified reviews provide useful details about guides, vehicles, timing, food, and communication. SafariFind lists verified tour operators and authentic reviews so you can compare service, not only price. Read recent feedback and ask questions before confirming a 2027 booking.
Plan flights only after you confirm the safari start time. Johannesburg flights to Kasane or Maun often cost $250–$400 one way [2]. Build a buffer around arrival and departure days. This protects you if a flight changes.
Use the Gaborone safari packages guide if you are comparing a southern Botswana start with Kasane. You can also compare Kasane with a five-day Chief’s Island itinerary for a Delta-focused trip.
Use clear images of a Chobe River boat, a safari vehicle, and a Kasane map. Suggested alt text includes “Chobe River boat cruise near Kasane in Botswana,” “shared safari vehicle in Chobe National Park,” and “Kasane to Chobe safari route map.” These descriptions help screen-reader users understand each image.
A Kasane safari in 2027 costs from about $100 to more than $10,000 per person, excluding international flights [6]. Short tours cost less, while luxury lodges and multi-day routes cost more. A four-day Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge safari is listed at $920 per person [6].
You need two to four days for a focused Kasane safari. This allows time for Chobe game drives and a Chobe River cruise. Longer trips of 7–14 nights suit travelers who add the Okavango Delta, Linyanti, or other Botswana camps [5].
A Kasane safari package can include accommodation, meals, game drives, boat cruises, park fees, guides, and transfers. Inclusions differ by operator. Wilderness camps include twice-daily activities, guided walks, park fees, and most beverages in rates from about $800 per person per night [5].
You can reach Kasane by flying from Johannesburg or by adding Kasane to a wider southern Africa route. Flights from Johannesburg to Kasane or Maun are reported at about $250–$400 one way [2]. Confirm airport transfers and arrival times with your safari operator.
Yes, you can combine Kasane with the Okavango Delta in a 7–14-night Botswana safari. Wilderness reports that guests commonly combine two or three camps across ecosystems such as the Okavango Delta and Linyanti [5]. This route costs more because it adds nights and transfers.
You can book through SafariFind, which connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. Compare packages, read traveler feedback, and request a quote that lists the route, inclusions, group size, and cancellation terms.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"I spent a week in Botswana with cultural vibes, travels & tours and had not a single dull moment. The hotels/lodges we stayed at were very clean and service was professional. On the drives I had good conversations with the tour operator as he taught me a lot about the culture and about all the different animals (which we saw a lot of). Overall I had a great experience and would definitely book again."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
