Blyde River Canyon Tours 2027: Packages, Prices and Routes are usually part of wider South Africa trips that include the Panorama Route and Kruger National Park. Current listed examples start at $995 for six days and reach $4,399 for a 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe tour. Listed 2027 departures include January, April, May, June, July, and August.
Two of the most popular Blyde River Canyon viewpoints can sit on the same day as waterfalls, rock pools, and a Kruger game drive. That mix makes this canyon a smart stop on a South Africa trip, rather than a destination you need to visit alone.
Blyde River Canyon Tours 2027: Packages, Prices and Routes usually form part of a longer trip through Mpumalanga. The most common plan links Johannesburg with Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route. Some longer tours add Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Eswatini, Natal, or Zimbabwe.
As of October 2026, published prices describe wider itineraries rather than a fixed standalone canyon ticket. One six-day tour starts at $995. A 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe small-group trip starts at $4,399. Treat these figures as planning points for 2027, then check what each quote includes.
SafariFind helps travelers compare verified tour operators, read authentic reviews, and match routes with their budget. This guide explains what the tours cover, how routes work, and what to ask before booking.
Blyde River Canyon tours are scenic and wildlife journeys through Mpumalanga, South Africa. Most packages combine the canyon with the Panorama Route and Kruger National Park, so travelers see dramatic viewpoints during a transfer day and wildlife during a separate game drive.
Blyde River Canyon is in Mpumalanga, along the Panorama Route near the northern end of the Drakensberg escarpment. Tour programs place it beside viewpoints such as Three Rondavels, along with Bourke's Luck Potholes and several waterfalls. The route commonly links the canyon with Kruger National Park and Johannesburg.
The South Africa safari market includes many routes that use Johannesburg as the starting point. A SafariFind itinerary describes a six-day journey built around Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route, and Soweto. [3]
Blyde River Canyon is best for travelers who want scenery and wildlife in one holiday. The canyon itself is a sightseeing stop. Kruger adds guided game drives, while the Panorama Route fills the transfer with viewpoints and short visits.
The canyon also works well for travelers who dislike moving hotels every night. A six-day plan can place the canyon between Johannesburg and Kruger. Longer routes can add Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Eswatini, or Natal without removing the canyon from the plan.
Compare 2027 South Africa safari packages with Blyde River Canyon routes to see which operators combine scenic stops with Kruger game drives.
Blyde River Canyon gives a South Africa safari a strong change of pace. Game drives focus on animals and tracking. The Panorama Route focuses on cliffs, waterfalls, rock formations, and long views. That contrast helps families and mixed-interest groups enjoy the same trip.
The Kruger National Park connection is especially useful. Several published tours pair a full-day Kruger game drive with Three Rondavels, a canyon viewpoint, and Bourke's Luck Potholes. [2]
For a broader comparison, SafariFind also covers Hoedspruit safari packages for 2027. Hoedspruit is a practical planning point for visitors who want access to the canyon and nearby private reserves.
Blyde River Canyon tours cost at least $995 in a published six-day package, while a 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe small-group tour starts at $4,399. These prices cover wider multi-stop journeys, not a confirmed standalone 2027 canyon excursion. The final quote depends on duration, transport, lodging, activities, and group size.
| Tour example | Duration | Starting price | Main route or focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Travel Chasers Kruger and Panorama Route | 6 days | $995 | Kruger National Park, Panorama Route, canyon viewpoints, and Bourke's Luck Potholes |
| South Africa and Zimbabwe small-group tour | 12 days | $4,399 | Cape Town, Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, and Victoria Falls |
The $995 Travel Chasers listing includes a full-day Kruger game drive, Three Rondavels viewpoint, a Blyde River Canyon viewpoint, and Bourke's Luck Potholes. It lists 2027 departures in January, April, May, June, July, and August. [2]
The $4,399 example costs $367 per day based on the advertised 12-day duration. The listing describes a small-group luxury trip through South Africa and Zimbabwe. It includes Cape Town, Kruger, Victoria Falls, and Blyde River Canyon. [5]
Jenman Safaris lists wider routes lasting 9, 12, 14, 19, and 23 days. These combine the canyon with places such as Kruger, Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Eswatini, and Natal. [6] Longer trips usually suit travelers who want a full regional holiday.
Do not compare prices by headline number alone. Ask whether the quote includes park fees, airport transfers, accommodation, meals, guide services, internal flights, and game drives. A low starting price can reflect a shorter route or a larger group.
SafariFind can help you request quotes from verified South Africa tour operators and compare what each price includes before you choose.
As of 2027 planning season, no published source gives one fixed price for every Blyde River Canyon tour. The available figures belong to broader packages. Use them to set a budget, then request an itemized quote.
The main Blyde River Canyon route links Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, and the Panorama Route. Short tours usually place the canyon between Johannesburg and Kruger. Longer routes add Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Eswatini, Natal, or Zimbabwe.
Johannesburg is the practical starting point for a Kruger-focused trip. A six-day SafariFind itinerary uses Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route, and Soweto as its principal stops. [3]
This route suits first-time visitors who want a clear plan. You can begin with a city stay, travel east toward Mpumalanga, visit the canyon viewpoints, and continue to Kruger for wildlife drives. The route keeps long-distance travel under control.
The Kruger and Panorama Route plan gives the canyon a central place in a shorter trip. Travel Chasers lists a full-day Kruger game drive, Three Rondavels, a Blyde River Canyon viewpoint, and Bourke's Luck Potholes in the same six-day itinerary. [2]
Cottey College places the Panorama Route on Day 3. Its itinerary includes Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Pinnacle Rock, Berlin Falls, and Lisbon Falls. [1] This shows how operators may group several scenic stops into one long touring day.
The Cape Town, Kruger, and Victoria Falls route suits travelers planning a larger southern Africa holiday. A 12-day small-group listing includes Cape Town, Kruger, Blyde River Canyon, and Victoria Falls from $4,399. [5]
This option gives the canyon a short scenic section inside a much wider trip. It works well when you want city time, wildlife, and a major waterfall in one booking. It is less suitable for travelers who want several full days around Mpumalanga.
Jenman Safaris lists 9-day, 12-day, 14-day, 19-day, and 23-day itineraries that include the canyon with other South African and regional destinations. [6] A 9-day route may suit a focused self-drive holiday. A 23-day route gives more time for Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Kruger, and other stops.
TourRadar lists departure-year choices for 2026, 2027, and 2028 on a Kruger National Park and Panorama Route tour that includes Blyde River Canyon. [7] That range helps travelers who need to plan around school holidays or fixed leave dates.
| Route style | Best for | Typical focus |
|---|---|---|
| Six-day Kruger and Panorama Route | First-time visitors | Johannesburg, canyon viewpoints, and Kruger |
| 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe | Small groups and regional trips | Cape Town, Kruger, canyon, and Victoria Falls |
| 19 to 23-day regional itinerary | Slow travelers | Several countries and longer wildlife stays |
Start by choosing your trip length, then match the canyon route to your wildlife goals. A six-day itinerary works for a first visit. A 12-day or longer tour fits travelers who want Cape Town, Victoria Falls, or extra game-drive time.
Most published routes use Johannesburg as the main arrival point before traveling toward Mpumalanga. Some itineraries use an early flight to Nelspruit before driving the Panorama Route. Cottey College describes that flight and then places the Panorama Route and canyon sights on Day 3. [1]
Confirm the arrival city before paying a deposit. Johannesburg and Nelspruit create different transfer times. Your operator should explain the road plan, hotel location, start time, and expected arrival at each stop.
Published 2027 departures include January, April, May, June, July, and August. These months show when at least one listed tour plans to operate, but they do not create a universal best month for every traveler. [2]
Choose dates based on the full route. Scenic views, road conditions, wildlife goals, school holidays, and hotel availability all affect the best choice. Ask operators for current 2027 availability before you make non-refundable plans.
Keep your day bag small. Panorama Route days can include several stops, while Kruger drives may last for many hours. Your guide can tell you when luggage stays in the vehicle and when you need to carry it.
SafariFind listings help you compare operators, package details, and traveler feedback in one place. Look for a clear route, an itemized price, and reviews that discuss guides, vehicles, hotels, and timing.

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"

"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."

"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."

"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."
