The best safari lodges in Botswana for 2027 cost about USD 690 to USD 5,345 per person per night. Chobe Game Lodge is the lowest-priced listed option, while Mombo Camp reaches the highest rate in peak season. June to October is the main peak period, and most luxury stays include meals, drinks, and safari activities, but flights between camps cost extra. [1][7]
More than USD 4,600 separates the lowest and highest listed Botswana lodge rates for 2027. [1]
Best safari lodges Botswana 2027: nightly rates compared is a guide to that price gap. It focuses on published rates for well-known camps and lodges. You will see which stays sit at the lower end, which charge premium rates, and what those prices usually cover.
Botswana is a strong choice for travelers who want a lodge-based safari with set daily activities. Wilderness lists typical trips at 7 to 14 days, with June through October as the peak travel season. Its indicative rate guide runs from USD 800 to USD 4,500 per person per night. [7]
The rates in this guide are planning figures for 2027. They are not a final quote for every date, room type, or travel party. Before booking, check the exact season, sharing basis, transfers, and flight costs.
Quick answer: A Botswana safari lodge costs USD 690 to USD 5,345 per person per night in the published 2027 comparison. Chobe Game Lodge offers the lowest listed starting rate, while Mombo Camp reaches the top rate. June to October is the peak season, and a 7 to 14 day trip is typical. [1][7]
The best safari lodges in Botswana depend on your budget, preferred camp style, and travel season. The 2027 comparison places Chobe Game Lodge at the entry end, while Mombo Camp, Vumbura Plains, Duba Plains Camp, Xigera Safari Lodge, andBeyond Sandibe, and Jack's Camp occupy higher price bands. [1]
These rates matter because Botswana lodge prices can change sharply between low and high season. A lodge with a USD 1,900 starting rate may reach more than USD 4,000 per person per night during a busy period. That difference affects the total cost of a multi-night safari.
Botswana safari lodges are known for combining accommodation with meals, drinks, and planned activities. Some listed rates include those items, while flights between camps remain extra. [1] This makes the nightly rate useful, but it does not show the full cost of a complete itinerary.
Wilderness describes Botswana as a year-round safari destination. It identifies June through October as the peak period and gives a typical stay of 7 to 14 days. [7] That length lets travelers combine more than one area instead of staying at one lodge.
A one-night difference can add thousands of dollars at the luxury end. For example, a seven-night stay at USD 5,345 per person per night totals USD 37,415 before inter-camp flights. A seven-night stay at USD 690 totals USD 4,830 on the same simple nightly calculation.
Those examples are planning math, not package quotes. They show why you should compare the rate, inclusions, season, and number of nights together. The headline price alone does not tell you how the final trip will feel in your budget.
Start your research with Botswana safari destinations, then compare the areas that fit your dates and travel style.
A safari in Botswana costs about USD 690 to USD 5,345 per person per night in the published 2027 lodge comparison. Wilderness gives a wider planning guide of USD 800 to USD 4,500 per person per night. The final amount depends on the lodge, season, accommodation basis, and extra flights. [1][7]
The price range is wide because Botswana has several levels of lodge accommodation. Chobe Game Lodge starts at USD 690 per person per night sharing in low season. Mombo Camp reaches USD 5,345 per person per night in the 2027 high season. [1]
| Lodge | Published 2027 rate per person per night |
|---|---|
| Chobe Game Lodge | USD 690 to USD 1,410 |
| andBeyond Sandibe | USD 1,850 to USD 4,100 |
| Vumbura Plains | USD 1,903 to USD 4,182 |
| Jack's Camp | USD 2,245 to USD 3,995 |
| Duba Plains Camp | USD 2,530 to USD 4,640 |
| Xigera Safari Lodge | USD 2,750 to USD 4,750 |
| Mombo Camp | USD 2,889 to USD 5,345 |
All lodge ranges in the table come from the published 2027 comparison. The figures are per person per night, and the Chobe Game Lodge starting figure uses a sharing basis. [1]
Some Botswana lodge rates include meals, drinks, and activities. Flights between camps cost extra. [1] Ask for a written breakdown before you compare two offers. A lower nightly rate may not produce a lower trip total if it leaves more transfers outside the package.
Wilderness lists USD 800 to USD 4,500 per person per night as an indicative Botswana range. [7] The small difference between that guide and the wider lodge comparison is a reminder to use more than one planning reference.
For a broader trip budget, read Botswana safari package prices by trip length. If your budget has a hard ceiling, Central Kalahari safari costs for 2027 can help you compare a different route.
Compare 2027 Botswana safari packages by trip length and nightly budget before you choose a lodge.
Chobe Game Lodge offers the lowest published starting rate, while Mombo Camp offers the highest listed peak-season rate. The best value depends on whether you want the lowest nightly cost or a higher-end stay with more room in the budget for activities and transfers. [1]
Value is not the same as the cheapest rate. A seven-night plan at a lower nightly price may suit travelers who want more time in Botswana. A shorter stay at a premium lodge may suit travelers who want a focused trip with fewer camp changes.
Chobe Game Lodge sits at USD 690 to USD 1,410 per person per night in the listed comparison. [1] It is the clearest choice for travelers who want to begin with the lowest published lodge rate in this group.
That starting figure applies to low season and sharing. Your dates and room basis still need checking. Use it as a first filter, not as a guaranteed 2027 price.
andBeyond Sandibe starts at USD 1,850, while Vumbura Plains starts at USD 1,903 per person per night. [1] These options sit below the highest listed bands, but both can rise above USD 4,000 in their published ranges.
Jack's Camp starts at USD 2,245 and reaches USD 3,995. [1] This creates a narrower upper range than several of the premium camps in the comparison. Travelers who want a high nightly rate with a lower stated ceiling may prefer this type of range.
Mombo Camp has the highest listed 2027 rate at USD 5,345 per person per night. Duba Plains Camp reaches USD 4,640, and Xigera Safari Lodge reaches USD 4,750. [1]
These figures suit travelers who place the lodge experience at the center of the trip. The cost rises fast, so compare the total nights and flight plan before you commit.
The best time to book a Botswana safari lodge is before the June to October peak season, especially if you want a specific camp or travel date. Wilderness identifies June through October as the peak travel period and lists Botswana as a year-round destination. [7]
Peak season is also when the published lodge comparison reaches its highest figures. Mombo Camp reaches USD 5,345 per person per night in the 2027 high season, while Chobe Game Lodge starts at USD 690 in low season. [1]
Start with your travel month. Then choose the number of nights. A 7 to 14 day Botswana safari is typical, according to Wilderness. [7] A longer stay gives you more time to absorb a higher nightly cost, but it also increases the full trip total.
Do not compare a low-season sharing rate with a high-season single-room quote. Those figures answer different questions. Ask each operator to state the season, room basis, inclusions, and transfer costs in the same format.
Travelers combining northern parks can review Chobe National Park safari package prices. Those considering a family trip can read the Botswana family safari guide before selecting a lodge.
Pack for the dates you choose. SafariFind's guide to what to wear in Botswana covers practical clothing decisions for a lodge trip.
Choose a Botswana safari lodge by matching the nightly rate, travel dates, trip length, and included services. Begin with the rate range, then check the lodge's location and transfer plan. A good choice fits your full itinerary, not only the room price.
Chobe National Park is one useful area to compare when the lowest listed rate matters. The first mention of Chobe National Park connects the price question with a real destination page.
Other travelers may want a route that includes the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park or the Kalahari Desert. These pages help you think about the route before you compare lodge offers.
A clear budget starts with a nightly limit. For example, a traveler may compare stays beginning below USD 2,000, while another may accept rates above USD 4,000 for a shorter trip. The published ranges let you set that first filter. [1]
Next, ask whether the rate includes meals, drinks, and activities. Some listed rates include those items, but flights between camps cost extra. [1] This one question can prevent a large gap between the advertised rate and the final quote.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Use the marketplace to compare operators, read recent feedback, and request a quote that matches your dates.
Before booking a 2027 Botswana lodge, create one simple comparison sheet with the lodge, rate, season, sharing basis, inclusions, nights, and flights. This method keeps expensive details visible and makes two very different offers easier to compare.
Use the lower end of a published range for early planning, then test your chosen dates against the upper end. This gives you a safer budget than planning around the cheapest number alone.

A useful lodge comparison should show prices beside clear terms. It should also explain what the traveler still needs to add. That approach is more helpful than a long list of lodge names without rates.
Check the currency, date, occupancy basis, and season on every quote. Then check the transfer plan. Flights between camps are extra in the published comparison, so they deserve their own line in your budget. [1]
Finally, save the quote and its expiry date. 2027 availability can change as travelers plan around the June to October peak. A clear record helps you spot changes before you pay.
Botswana is good for safari travelers who want lodge-based trips, guided activities, and a wide choice of luxury price points. Typical trips last 7 to 14 days, and peak travel generally runs from June through October. [7]

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
