Wilderness Etosha is planned to open with only eight suites in July or August 2027, giving Namibia a new small camp beside Etosha National Park. [5]
The best game lodges in Namibia 2027 cover Etosha, Sossusvlei, Damaraland, the Kunene Region, the Erongo region, and the south. A complete regional price table is not available yet, so compare lodge rates, inclusions, and dates before booking. Sossusvlei Lodge already separates its 2026 and 2027 rate sections, while several other lodges ask guests to check 2027 rates closer to travel. [6][8]
Best Game Lodges in Namibia 2027: Prices by Region is a planning guide for travellers comparing desert camps, wildlife lodges, and new safari stays. Namibia does not offer one single lodge style. A stay near Etosha focuses on game viewing. A lodge near Sossusvlei focuses on desert access and changing light. Southern properties suit travellers building longer road trips.
Namibia’s safari regions include Sossusvlei, Damaraland, the Kunene Region, and Etosha, according to Wilderness. Its listed safari styles include private, all-inclusive, photographic, honeymoon, family, self-drive, and bird-watching trips. [6] That range matters because the best lodge for a couple may not suit a family or an independent driver.
The price question needs care. The current research does not give a full 2027 rate list for every region. Sossusvlei Lodge publishes separate 2026 and 2027 sections, but the available material does not show a complete figure set for comparison. Epako Game Lodge states that rates depend on change and availability. Lafenis Game Lodge gives 2026 rates and directs guests to enquire about 2027 rates. [2][4][8]
Use this guide to narrow your region first. Then compare what each rate includes. A lower room price may exclude meals, transfers, park fees, activities, or drinks. A higher rate may include guided drives and full board. Those details can change the real cost of a Namibia safari.
SafariFind connects travellers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews. Compare Namibia safari packages for 2027 when you know which region fits your route.
A good Namibian game lodge matches its setting, wildlife access, room style, and travel plan. Etosha lodges suit travellers who want repeated game drives. Sossusvlei lodges suit guests who value desert scenery and early access to the dunes. Southern lodges work well on long self-drive routes.
Etosha is the clearest choice for a classic wildlife stay. Wilderness Etosha is planned for the private Hobatere Concession along Etosha National Park’s western boundary. The camp is expected to open in July or August 2027 and will have eight suites. [5] Its small size may appeal to travellers who prefer a quieter camp with fewer rooms.
Etosha lodges should be judged by more than their room design. Check the distance to the park gate, the type of game drive offered, and whether the package includes meals and transfers. Also ask how the lodge handles drives inside the park compared with drives on private land.
For a wider route, read this guide to Namibia Etosha safari packages and 2027 fees. It can help you compare a lodge stay with a wider tour plan.
Sossusvlei lodges are best for travellers who place desert scenery at the top of their list. African Safari Mag describes the Namib as the main reason many visitors travel so far south, with the desert taking centre stage as the light changes. [1] This region is about dunes, salt pans, clear skies, and long views rather than dense wildlife sightings.
Deadvlei is a strong fit for guests who want to include the famous white clay pan and dead camel thorn trees. The Naukluft Mountains add a different landscape for travellers taking a longer desert route.
Sossusvlei Lodge publishes separate 2026 and 2027 rate sections. Its prices use Namibian dollars, which are equal to the South African rand. [8] Before booking, check the exact 2027 season, meal plan, room category, and activity costs. A rate without those details is hard to compare fairly.
Damaraland is a strong choice for travellers who want open country, rock formations, and a slower route between major parks. Wilderness lists Damaraland and the Kunene Region among Namibia’s main safari areas. [6] These regions can suit private trips and photographic safaris, especially when the route matters as much as wildlife numbers.
Epako Game Lodge sits in Namibia’s Erongo region. [3] The lodge’s rate page says prices can change and depend on availability. [2] That makes the booking date and room type important parts of any 2027 quote.
Erongo can fit a route that links central Namibia with the coast or Etosha. Travellers should check driving times before choosing a lodge. A beautiful property can still create a poor itinerary if it adds long backtracking between stops.
The best game lodges in Namibia do not yet have one reliable public price range for every region in 2027. Published information separates some 2027 rate sections from older rates, while other properties show 2026 prices or say rates depend on availability. Compare the full package, not the room price alone.
| Lodge or area | 2027 price information | Useful planning detail |
|---|---|---|
| Sossusvlei Lodge | Has a separate 2027 rate section | Rates are quoted in Namibian dollars, equal to the South African rand. [8] |
| Epako Game Lodge | Rates depend on change and availability | Located in the Erongo region. [2][3] |
| Lafenis Game Lodge | 2027 rates should be checked for the travel date | About 5 km south of Keetmanshoop. Fish River Canyon is described as less than two hours away. [4] |
| Wilderness Etosha | 2027 opening planned, with no price figure in the available announcement | Planned for July or August 2027, with eight suites. [5] |
| Kalahari Game Lodge | Booking listing carries updated 2027 pricing information | Location rating is 9.5 out of 10 from 58 reviews. [7] |
The Kalahari Game Lodge score is user-generated booking-platform data. It is useful as a guest signal, but it is not an independent quality certification. [7] Read the review count, location comments, room feedback, and recent stay dates together.
Compare these items in every lodge quote:
Self-drive guests may need a room-only or meal-inclusive rate. Guests on a guided safari may prefer a package that combines transport, meals, activities, and several lodges. The cheaper quote is not always the lower trip cost.
SafariFind helps you compare operators, package inclusions, and traveller feedback in one place. Request quotes from verified Namibia safari operators and compare the details behind each 2027 lodge price.
Sossusvlei needs a careful look at room rates and activity costs because the lodge stay often supports early desert visits. Etosha needs a close look at game-drive fees and park access. Southern Namibia needs a route check, since a low room rate may lose its value if it creates a costly detour.
The Namibia safari cost guide for first-time travellers is useful when turning lodge quotes into a daily trip budget. Keep accommodation, transport, meals, activities, and fees as separate lines.
Start with the region that matters most, then build the route around it. Choose Etosha for wildlife drives, Sossusvlei for desert scenery, or southern Namibia for a road journey that includes Keetmanshoop and the Fish River Canyon area.
Wildlife-focused travellers should begin with Etosha. Desert-focused travellers should begin with Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. Road-trip travellers can add Aus, Lüderitz, or southern Namibia to a longer loop.
Families may prefer a lodge with a clear activity plan and short transfers. Couples may choose a smaller camp or a desert lodge. Bird watchers should ask whether the lodge offers guided birding, since Wilderness lists bird-watching as a Namibia safari style. [6]
Namibia rewards careful route planning. Place nearby regions together rather than crossing the country for a single night. A seven-day Etosha itinerary guide can help you judge how much time a wildlife route needs.
Travellers heading north can compare Kamanjab safari routes and stays. Travellers heading south can review Fish River Canyon package costs before choosing a lodge near Keetmanshoop.
Ask for the 2027 rate in writing. Confirm the currency, room type, meal plan, activity schedule, transfer plan, and cancellation rules. Sossusvlei Lodge uses Namibian dollars, equal to the South African rand, so international travellers should check how their card or bank converts the payment. [8]
Epako’s rate information warns that prices can change and depend on availability. [2] This is a reason to compare the quote date with the travel date. It is also a reason to keep a second lodge option in your route.
Wilderness Etosha is the main new 2027 lodge announcement in the current research. The planned eight-suite camp will sit in the private Hobatere Concession on Etosha’s western boundary. [5] Travellers interested in this camp should check opening timing before fixing flights and connecting lodges.
Southern routes can include Lafenis Game Lodge, about 5 km south of Keetmanshoop. The property places Fish River Canyon less than two hours away and gives 2026 prices while asking guests to check 2027 rates. [4]
The best game lodge depends on your route and main goal. Wilderness Etosha is the key new 2027 option for Etosha wildlife, while Sossusvlei Lodge suits desert trips. Epako fits the Erongo region, and Lafenis Game Lodge suits southern routes near Keetmanshoop. [2][3][4][5][8]
A complete 2027 price range by Namibian region is not available in the current listings. Sossusvlei Lodge has a separate 2027 rate section, while Epako and Lafenis require date-specific rate checks. Compare the room, meals, activities, transfers, and fees before choosing a lodge. [2][4][8]
Wilderness Etosha is planned to open in July or August 2027. The camp is planned for the private Hobatere Concession along Etosha National Park’s western boundary and will have eight suites. [5]
Sossusvlei is the strongest choice for desert scenery. The area is known for the Namib Desert setting, while Deadvlei adds a distinct white clay pan and dead camel thorn trees. Sossusvlei Lodge publishes separate 2026 and 2027 rate sections. [1][8]
Kalahari Game Lodge has a 9.5 out of 10 location rating from 58 reviews on its booking-platform listing. That score reflects user feedback about location. It is not an independent quality certification, so read the individual reviews before booking. [7]

The best game lodges in Namibia 2027 are defined by region, not by one national ranking. Etosha suits wildlife drives. Sossusvlei suits desert views and Deadvlei visits. Damaraland, Kunene, Erongo, and the south suit travellers who want a longer route with fewer crowded stops.
Wilderness Etosha is the most notable new option, with an expected July or August 2027 opening and eight planned suites. [5] Sossusvlei Lodge is a useful price reference because it separates 2026 and 2027 rates and quotes in Namibian dollars. [8] Epako and Lafenis show why date-specific checks matter.
Build your route first, then compare the full cost of each lodge package. Check meals, drives, transfers, park fees, and cancellation rules. Compare verified Namibia safari packages on SafariFind, read authentic traveller reviews, and request a quote that matches your 2027 dates. More new lodge choices should make regional planning even more useful as Namibia’s 2027 season takes shape.

"The two brothers at the helm of Okavango Exploration Safaris are extraordinary hosts. Their purpose is clearly to give clients the very best that the Botswana bush has to offer. This means they expertly track down a wide array of wildlife, they share their vast knowledge of the flora and fauna of the land, their camps are simple and well-run, the food is delicious and they accommodate food restrictions very well, and you always feel safe in their hands. While planning our family safari, we were in constant communication with our guide, Sox. He was most helpful and very flexible in working out schedules and activities, and always got back to us immediately. Sox was at the airport to meet us with open arms in his well-equipped and very comfortable safari vehicle. He is an excellent driver and spotter, and has a warm and friendly personality. From the coffees at sun-up to the gin and tonics at sun-down, we enjoyed every minute. We saw grand herds of elephant, giraffe, zebras, antelopes, as well as lions, leopards, cheetah, wild dogs, buffalo, hippos, to name a few. We shared stories around the fire under an incredible blanket of stars, we heard the roar of lions at night while we were tucked safely into our tents. And we experienced a beautiful morning on the river in mokoros, where we came face to face with a herd of elephants taking a drink and splashing around! It was all magical and never to be forgotten. We have enjoyed seven safaris in the Botswana/Namibia area, two of which were with Okavango Exploration Safaris. We highly recommend this outfit and definitely feel we received good value for our money."
"Tongesai was recommended to me by a friend who also booked his amazing safari through Cultural Vibes; I am glad we took his recommendation. Our safari across Victoria Falls and Botswana was top notch. Tongesai booked us in all of the best camps and with the best safari outfitters. Our excursions were extremely well planned and full of excitement. The restaurants were fantastic as well. Personally, I love planning my own vacations but honestly don't think there is an easy and reliable way to plan an African safari without using a travel agent very familiar with the region. Located in Zimbabwe and with a travel and tourism background, Tongesai was able to coordinate our stays between 5 safari camps which included private charter flights across the regions. He also personally escorted us into Botswana and helped with border crossing which was very helpful as well. Compared to larger companies, Tongesai's package rates were more reasonable and came with a customized touch. I highly recommend Cultural Vibes to anyone looking to go on safari in Zimbabwe and its bordering countries (Botswana, Zambia & Namibia). Thanks, T!"
"We were amazing group of 4 adults from Atlanta USA. Upon arrival we found our guide Stuart Muronga already waiting for us. He picked us up in a well air-conditioned vehicle and offered us water at soft drinks. Before going to check in we drove around the beautiful city . After checking in he dropped us off at the famous Boma restaurant..we had an amazing experience there over delicious meals and drums and dance. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The next morning he picked us up for out safari experience in Chobe which is in Botswana just an hour drive from Vic Falls. We spent 6 hrs there then drove another 40 or so minutes to some island in Namibia. Stuart was so knowledgeable with great communication skills which made the whole experience so smooth and fun."

"Initially we did not really know what to expect, so we bombarded Kubwa Five Safaris with what might have been considered to be an unreasonable amount of questions - where to go, what would we see, where would we stay, and who would travel with us. Every time we asked a question the team responded incredibly quickly and were happy to answer the many follow-up questions that we had. Ultimately, we decided to travel as a couple with one of their local guides who would accompany us and drive us from location to location over the course of our 12 day trip. The Kubwa Five Safaris team were happy to customize the itinerary to make the absolute most of our time in wonderful Namibia (even when we asked them to add a last minute game drive before going to the airport to fly home). Our guide Angelo did an amazing job looking after us. Not only did he take the pressure away from the daily driving on unpaved roads, but he was our nature/cultural/city/history expert, and with him our unforgettable trip exceeded our every expectation. We started on a high at a private game reserve, before spending a further three days in Etosha National Park. After having spent two interesting days in Damaraland we moved on to Swakopmund with the German history before tackling the dunes in a 4x4 around Walvis Bay. Our final couple of days were spent in Deadvlei climbing "Big Daddy", overnighting in the Kalahari, before returning to Windhoek for the flight home... twelve amazing days filled with experiences of a lifetime and we cannot thank Kubwa Five Safaris enough for being with us every step of the journey. We are already thinking of where to go next with this amazing agency :-)"
