One Ankarana extension already lists a 2027 price of $3,995 per person, while solo travel starts at $5,495.
Ankarana National Park entry fees for 2027 have not been published in the available research. A verified 2027 Ankarana and Amber Mountain extension starts at $3,995 per person for double occupancy, or $5,495 for a solo traveler. Ankarana is 108 kilometers south of Antsiranana in northern Madagascar. Confirm the park fee, travel dates, and inclusions before booking.
Ankarana National Park Entry Fees and Safari Costs 2027 are not one fixed charge. The park entry fee remains unlisted in the current research, while full safari prices depend on lodging, transport, guide services, and whether you travel alone. The clearest published 2027 price starts at $3,995 per person for two people sharing. [3]
Ankarana National Park is in northern Madagascar, 108 kilometers south of Antsiranana. The protected area covers about 18,220 hectares. [2] That distance matters because road transfers and regional flights can make up a large part of your final bill.
Quick answer: Budget at least $3,995 per person for a published 2027 Ankarana and Amber Mountain extension with double occupancy. Solo travelers should budget from $5,495. The park entry fee is not yet stated in the available 2027 research, so ask the operator for a written fee breakdown before you pay.
This guide separates known prices from unknown charges. It also explains what to ask about guides, hotels, flights, and park access. That approach is less exciting than guessing a cheap daily rate, but it protects your budget.
Ankarana National Park entry fees and safari costs in 2027 include two different items. The entry fee is the charge to enter the protected area. The safari cost is the wider trip price, which may include a guide, accommodation, transfers, meals, and other parks. Current research confirms the wider package price, but it does not confirm the 2027 entry fee.
Ankarana National Park is located 108 kilometers south of Antsiranana, also known as Diego Suarez. [2] The protected area covers approximately 18,220 hectares. [2] It is known for endemic plants and animals, along with contrasting terrains and landscapes. [2]
Ankarana is a strong choice for travelers who want more than a single wildlife drive. The area combines forest, dry land, rock formations, and unusual ground shapes. However, the source data does not give a full 2027 list of trails, guide rates, or daily conservation charges. A careful itinerary should name each included activity.
Compare 2027 Ankarana safari packages and request a quote from verified operators before choosing a route. SafariFind connects travelers with tour operators and helps you compare package details, prices, and traveler reviews.
Known for: Ankarana is known for endemic plants and animals and for varied terrain within a protected area of about 18,220 hectares. [2] Those facts explain why many trips combine Ankarana with another northern Madagascar stop, rather than treating the park as a short roadside visit.
Ankarana Lodge is advertised as less than one mile from the park entrance. [4] That location may reduce the time spent reaching the gate. It does not prove that lodge costs, meals, guides, or entry fees are included, so check the package terms.
A low headline price can hide important costs. A tour listing advertises Ankarana packages from $1,100 to $1,450, but the result does not specify the exact itinerary or included services. [1] Treat that figure as a starting advertisement, not as a like-for-like comparison with the $3,995 2027 extension.
The difference between those figures may come from trip length, hotels, transfers, flights, private guiding, or extra parks. It may also reflect different travel dates. Ask for the number of nights, room type, transport plan, and park charges in writing.
The clearest published 2027 Ankarana package price is $3,995 per person for double occupancy. The same extension starts at $5,495 for a solo traveler. [3] Internal airfare adds $990, according to the research summary. These prices give you a useful planning point, but they do not confirm the separate park entry fee.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ankarana and Amber Mountain extension, double occupancy | From $3,995 per person | Not specified in the research | Not specified | Two travelers sharing |
| Ankarana and Amber Mountain extension, solo | From $5,495 | Not specified in the research | Not specified | Solo travelers |
| Ankarana tour listing | $1,100 to $1,450 | Not specified | Not specified | Travelers comparing lower headline prices |
The table compares published figures, not identical products. The $1,100 to $1,450 listing does not state its services or route. [1] The $3,995 and $5,495 figures come from a 2027 extension listing. [3] Compare inclusions before you compare the totals.
SafariFind can help you compare the price line by line. Compare verified Madagascar tour operators for 2027 and request written quotes that state occupancy, flights, lodges, guides, and park fees.
Start with the words "per person." A $3,995 price for double occupancy is not the same as a $3,995 private trip. Next, check whether the quote includes the $990 internal airfare listed in the research summary. [3] Then ask whether the park entry fee is included or payable locally.
Read the cancellation terms before you send a deposit. A low price has little value if a change to your flight causes a large penalty. You should also ask whether the quote uses shared or private transport. That detail can change both comfort and cost.
Plan an Ankarana safari by confirming the route, the entry fee, and the package inclusions first. Then compare the travel dates, occupancy rules, lodge location, and flight costs. The available research does not name a best month for 2027, so your operator should explain the weather and access conditions for your chosen dates.
Ankarana National Park is 108 kilometers south of Antsiranana. [2] Start by asking how your itinerary reaches the park from the airport or city. A quote should name the transfer vehicle, the transfer day, and whether the driver remains with you during the visit.
Ankarana Lodge is advertised as less than one mile from the park entrance. [4] A nearby lodge may suit travelers who want short morning transfers. Still, distance alone does not show the room standard or total lodge price. Ask for the lodge name and room basis.
Some travelers add Ankarana to a wider Madagascar safari cost guide for 2027. Others combine northern parks with island stays. For example, a trip may continue toward Nosy Komba or a beach route. Each extra stop adds travel time and cost.
Request a single written itinerary with every paid service. Avoid relying on a headline price alone. The research lists a lower tour figure of $1,100 to $1,450, but it does not explain the services behind that price. [1] A detailed quote lets you see whether the cheaper option covers the same route.
Read authentic traveler reviews before you choose an operator. Look for comments about drivers, guides, timing, rooms, and changes to the planned route. SafariFind lists verified operators and helps travelers compare real feedback before requesting a quote.
For nearby planning ideas, see the guide to best lodges near Ankarana Special Reserve in 2027. If your route includes a southern stop, compare it with Anja Community Reserve lemur tour prices. Those links can help you build a wider Madagascar plan without mixing unrelated prices.
Ankarana National Park offers a protected northern Madagascar setting with endemic plants, endemic animals, and contrasting terrain. [2] Expect a nature-focused visit rather than a simple city excursion. Your guide and operator should explain the walking route, ground conditions, meeting point, and time needed for each activity.
Known for: Ankarana is known for biological variety and changing landscapes within about 18,220 hectares. [2] This makes the park useful for travelers who value local habitats and guided exploration. The available sources do not provide a complete animal checklist, so do not book based on promises of a specific sighting.
Park access also has a practical side. A lodge less than one mile from the entrance may make early starts easier. [4] Yet a close lodge does not remove the need to check guide fees, meals, transfers, or entry charges.
Ankarana is less suited to travelers who want a simple, low-cost day trip with no added transfers. The published figures show a wide gap between a basic tour listing and a detailed 2027 extension. [1] [3] That gap needs explanation before you compare value.
If you publish a trip page or photo gallery, use clear image descriptions. Suggested alt text includes "Ankarana National Park rock landscape in northern Madagascar," "guided walk near Ankarana park entrance," and "Ankarana Lodge near the national park entrance." Accurate alt text helps readers understand the image without making claims about wildlife you did not see.
The main booking risk is treating an advertised starting price as a complete trip total. The 2027 entry fee remains unspecified in the research, while airfare, lodging, guides, and transfers may sit outside the headline price. Ask for a dated quote that separates each charge.
A listing from $1,100 to $1,450 may sound attractive. However, its result does not specify the exact itinerary or included services. [1] It may not match the 2027 Ankarana and Amber Mountain extension priced from $3,995 per person. [3]
Solo travel is another common gap. The published solo price starts at $5,495, which is $1,500 more than the double occupancy price. [3] Ask whether that difference covers a private room, a private vehicle, or other single-supplement costs.
These steps take a few minutes. They can prevent a large surprise after you have booked flights. They also make it easier to compare two operators on equal terms.
The 2027 Ankarana National Park entry fee is not specified in the available research. Ask your operator to list the fee separately from the safari price. Do not assume that a package starting at $3,995 includes park access.
An Ankarana safari extension starts at $3,995 per person for double occupancy in the clearest published 2027 price. The published solo rate starts at $5,495. Internal airfare may add $990, so confirm the final total before booking.
Ankarana National Park is 108 kilometers south of Antsiranana, also called Diego Suarez, in northern Madagascar. The protected area covers about 18,220 hectares and includes endemic plants, endemic animals, and contrasting terrain.
Ankarana Lodge is advertised as less than one mile from the park entrance. That location may shorten local transfers, but travelers should still confirm the room rate, meals, guide service, and transport terms.
The $1,100 to $1,450 figure is an advertised starting range, but the available result does not specify the itinerary or included services. Compare its nights, transfers, flights, guides, meals, and park fees with the higher 2027 extension price.

"From start to finish, this tour was an unforgettable experience. When enquiring about planning this trip ,Tony was very responsive, informative and. answered all our questions as we went along .When my suitcase didn't arrive in Madagascar Tony sorted it for me and negotiated with the airline on my behalf, going above and beyond and was very much appreciated Our guides were all knowledgeable, friendly, and punctual and clearly passionate about what they do, which made the whole trip both fun and informative. The itinerary was perfectly balanced — we saw all the major highlights without ever feeling rushed, and there were plenty of opportunities to take photos, ask questions, and just soak up the atmosphere. The transportation was comfortable, everything ran smoothly and on time, and as it was a private tour we were able to spend as little or as much time at each place as we chose. Every stop had something unique to offer, and the insider stories and local tips really brought the culture to life. It’s rare to find a tour that gets every detail right, but this one truly did, guides were on time , transfers were smooth, everything was flexible to our wishes. Hugh thanks to Tony, Sidney, Princee and Nico. The drivers were all awesome and we always felt safe despite some roads been very African massage- bumpy ! We left with amazing memories, beautiful photos, and a much deeper appreciation for the country. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable experience. We would do it again in a heartbeat!"

"We have recently finished a 10 day tour of Madagascar in April 2025 using the operator “Madagascar Natural Tours” from start to finish it almost felt too good to be true, I have never met any one else from Australia who has been to Madagascar so we were very hesitant in whether it would be safe and had no idea how to organise a holiday there or what to expect. Harilala was extremely professional and communicative the entire way and answered every single (too many) questions of ours and made us feel comfortable and excited. He planned our itinerary just perfectly we listed a couple of things we had wanted to see - baobab avenue, lemurs and Nosy Be. He organised our whole itinerary, accomodation and flights for us so that it flowed seamlessly. He provided options in accomodation as we were seeking honeymoon style resorts. The hotels that he booked were beautiful, clean, great food and lovely staff! We had a few internal flights in our itinerary and it was so nice stepping off the plane and trusting that there would be a guide there waiting for us to get us to our hotel. The few times during our stay we had a question regarding our tour, Harilala would reply to our messages almost immediately and paid very careful attention to ensure we were happy and getting the most out of our tour. Using Madagascar Natural Tours took all stress out of the holiday / planning and allowed us to just show up and make memories of a lifetime! I would highly recommend this company to anybody curious to explore Madagascar! Particularly if you do not speak French, we struggled with the language barrier however all guides had amazing English which was such a relief. We can’t wait to come back in a few years time!!"

Besides the wonderful tour, Solo and Fidele, our tour leaders, made the difference. We spent 20 days in Madagascar, and they flew by; everything was fantastic. We'll definitely be back to see the southernmost part of the country."
