Ankarana Lodge sits near one of northern Madagascar's best-known karst landscapes, yet the 2027 price gap between short and extended trips is over $2,700. That difference makes the right package worth checking closely.
Ankarana Lodge Prices 2027: Where to Stay and Book is a guide to current package costs, room types, travel dates, and booking choices. The lodge is in northern Madagascar, near Ankarana National Park. SafariFind lists a four-day package from $1,281 in 2027 [1].
The best choice depends on your trip length, room needs, and whether you travel alone. A longer route can add Amber Mountain National Park, while a shorter package focuses on the Ankarana area. This guide keeps those options separate, so you can compare the real cost.
Quick answer: Ankarana Lodge prices in 2027 start at $1,281 for four days. The Ankarana and Amber Mountain extension starts at $3,995 per person with double occupancy. Solo travelers pay $5,495 plus a $750 single supplement. June to September and December to January are recommended travel periods [1][6].
Ankarana Lodge prices in 2027 begin at $1,281 for a four-day package. The lodge is near Ankarana National Park in northern Madagascar, and the package price gives travelers a starting point for planning. Longer trips cost more because they include extra days, another park, and wider route planning [1].
Ankarana Lodge is an accommodation base for trips near Ankarana National Park. Jenman African Safaris describes air-conditioned bungalows, standard tented bungalows, and guesthouse rooms at the lodge [7]. That mix suits travelers who want more choice than a single room category.
Ankarana Lodge is also sold through tailor-made itineraries rather than only as a standalone room booking. Timbuktu Travel describes the lodge as part of a custom Madagascar trip, which means the final cost can depend on the wider route and services included [3].
The four-day price of $1,281 is useful for travelers building a shorter northern Madagascar trip. The $3,995 extension is a different product. It covers a seven-day Ankarana and Amber Mountain National Parks route and is priced per person on double occupancy [1][6]. Comparing those prices without checking the duration can give you the wrong idea about value.
Wilderness Travel also lists a 14-day Magical Madagascar trip from $8,495 and a 15-day Madagascar: Off the Beaten Path trip from $8,795 [6]. These longer trips show how quickly the total budget rises when Ankarana forms part of a wider national itinerary.
For a wider route comparison, read the guide to Madagascar safari costs in 2027. It helps place an Ankarana stay beside other trip lengths and package styles.
Compare 2027 Ankarana lodge packages and rates before choosing a route, room type, or travel date.
Ankarana Lodge package prices in 2027 range from a $1,281 four-day starting price to $3,995 for a seven-day extension with double occupancy. Solo travelers face a listed price of $5,495 plus a $750 single supplement. These figures should be compared by duration and occupancy, not by headline price alone [1][6].
| Package | Duration | 2027 price | Occupancy detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ankarana Lodge package | 4 days | From $1,281 | Package starting price |
| Ankarana and Amber Mountain extension | 7 days | From $3,995 per person | Double occupancy |
| Ankarana solo option | 2027 option | $5,495 per person | Plus $750 single supplement |
| Magical Madagascar | 14 days | From $8,495 | Trip listed by Wilderness Travel |
| Madagascar: Off the Beaten Path | 15 days | From $8,795 | Trip listed by Wilderness Travel |
Occupancy is the clearest cost difference in the available 2027 figures. The double-occupancy extension starts at $3,995 per person, while the solo option lists $5,495 per person plus a $750 single supplement [1]. That creates a large gap for travelers who do not share a room.
Trip length also matters. A four-day package and a seven-day park extension are not equal products. The longer option links Ankarana with Amber Mountain National Park, so it gives travelers more time in northern Madagascar [1][6].
Room category is another point to check. Jenman lists air-conditioned bungalows, tented bungalows, and guesthouse rooms, but the package rate depends on the itinerary and booking setup [7]. Ask for the exact room type before paying a deposit.
Booking format can affect the result too. Timbuktu Travel presents Ankarana Lodge within tailor-made Madagascar trips, while Wilderness Travel lists the lodge as part of specific departures and extensions [3][6]. Compare like with like, especially when one quote covers transport and guiding and another focuses on accommodation.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Use the marketplace to compare tour operators, check package details, and request a quote that matches your group size.
Compare 2027 Madagascar trip prices by duration when you are deciding between a short Ankarana stay and a longer island route.
Ankarana Lodge is the clearest stay choice in the available 2027 package data because it is tied directly to Ankarana routes. Travelers who need a room with air conditioning can focus on the air-conditioned bungalows. Those who prefer a simpler camp feel can ask about standard tented bungalows [7].
Air-conditioned bungalows are the practical choice for travelers who want a cooler indoor space. Jenman African Safaris lists these bungalows among the lodge's accommodation types for 2027 tours [7]. Confirm that the room category appears in your written quote.
Standard tented bungalows offer a different stay style. The name describes the accommodation category, but your operator should explain the layout, facilities, and bedding included in the selected package. Do not assume every 2027 rate covers the same room.
Guesthouse rooms add another option at the lodge. This can help when a group has different room preferences. The key question is simple: does the quoted price match the room type you want?
Ankarana works well as part of a northern Madagascar route. The seven-day extension listed by Wilderness Travel joins Ankarana and Amber Mountain National Parks and starts at $3,995 per person with double occupancy [6]. It is a strong fit for travelers who want two park areas in one trip.
Travelers planning a wider nature route can also compare an Andasibe-Mantadia package for 2027. Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is a separate destination, so adding it changes the route, travel time, and total quote.
Travelers focused on the west can read about Ankarafantsika safari packages in 2027. Ankarafantsika is another park choice, not a replacement room at Ankarana Lodge. Keep the destinations separate when comparing prices.
Start comparing Ankarana Lodge prices in August 2026 for a 2027 trip. SafariFind recommends June to September and December to January as travel periods for the Ankarana area [1]. Early comparison gives you more time to check room types, trip length, and occupancy terms.
June to September: SafariFind identifies these months as recommended travel periods for Ankarana in its 2027 planning guidance [1]. This window suits travelers who want to plan around the listed preferred season.
December to January: SafariFind also lists this period as recommended for travel to Ankarana [1]. It gives travelers another planning window when the mid-year dates do not fit work or school schedules.
The best date for you still depends on the package schedule and room availability. Operators may use set departures, tailor-made routes, or different booking terms. Ask for the exact dates before you compare the final total.
SafariFind is useful at this stage because it brings verified tour operators and package information into one place. Compare the route first. Then compare the room, occupancy, and total price.

"From start to finish, this tour was an unforgettable experience. When enquiring about planning this trip ,Tony was very responsive, informative and. answered all our questions as we went along .When my suitcase didn't arrive in Madagascar Tony sorted it for me and negotiated with the airline on my behalf, going above and beyond and was very much appreciated Our guides were all knowledgeable, friendly, and punctual and clearly passionate about what they do, which made the whole trip both fun and informative. The itinerary was perfectly balanced — we saw all the major highlights without ever feeling rushed, and there were plenty of opportunities to take photos, ask questions, and just soak up the atmosphere. The transportation was comfortable, everything ran smoothly and on time, and as it was a private tour we were able to spend as little or as much time at each place as we chose. Every stop had something unique to offer, and the insider stories and local tips really brought the culture to life. It’s rare to find a tour that gets every detail right, but this one truly did, guides were on time , transfers were smooth, everything was flexible to our wishes. Hugh thanks to Tony, Sidney, Princee and Nico. The drivers were all awesome and we always felt safe despite some roads been very African massage- bumpy ! We left with amazing memories, beautiful photos, and a much deeper appreciation for the country. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable experience. We would do it again in a heartbeat!"

"We have recently finished a 10 day tour of Madagascar in April 2025 using the operator “Madagascar Natural Tours” from start to finish it almost felt too good to be true, I have never met any one else from Australia who has been to Madagascar so we were very hesitant in whether it would be safe and had no idea how to organise a holiday there or what to expect. Harilala was extremely professional and communicative the entire way and answered every single (too many) questions of ours and made us feel comfortable and excited. He planned our itinerary just perfectly we listed a couple of things we had wanted to see - baobab avenue, lemurs and Nosy Be. He organised our whole itinerary, accomodation and flights for us so that it flowed seamlessly. He provided options in accomodation as we were seeking honeymoon style resorts. The hotels that he booked were beautiful, clean, great food and lovely staff! We had a few internal flights in our itinerary and it was so nice stepping off the plane and trusting that there would be a guide there waiting for us to get us to our hotel. The few times during our stay we had a question regarding our tour, Harilala would reply to our messages almost immediately and paid very careful attention to ensure we were happy and getting the most out of our tour. Using Madagascar Natural Tours took all stress out of the holiday / planning and allowed us to just show up and make memories of a lifetime! I would highly recommend this company to anybody curious to explore Madagascar! Particularly if you do not speak French, we struggled with the language barrier however all guides had amazing English which was such a relief. We can’t wait to come back in a few years time!!"

"We entrusted Harilala with our Madagascar tour, explaining what we wanted to see and visit. What can I say? He exceeded our expectations! Besides the wonderful tour, Solo and Fidele, our tour leaders, made the difference. We spent 20 days in Madagascar, and they flew by; everything was fantastic. We'll definitely be back to see the southernmost part of the country."
