A 7-Day Botswana Safari Itinerary 2027: Route, Cost and Booking plan usually links the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, and Chobe National Park. Prices start at US$2,590 per person, while wider 2026 listings range from US$2,426 to US$7,295. Build the route around game drives, mokoro trips, boat safaris, and river cruises, then compare verified operators on SafariFind.
One seven-day Botswana safari can cover wetlands, woodland, and river habitat, with prices starting at US$2,590 per person in 2027. That short route works because Botswana's main safari areas connect well by light aircraft and camp transfers. You spend less time on long road journeys and more time near wildlife.
Seven days is a useful length for a first Botswana safari. It gives you enough time for two distinct areas without turning the trip into a rushed checklist. The classic plan starts in the Okavango Delta or Moremi Game Reserve, then moves north to Chobe National Park.
This guide explains the route, daily flow, package costs, flights, luggage, and booking steps. It also shows where prices can rise. International flights, private transfers, and extra nights may sit outside the advertised safari price.
Quick answer: A 2027 Botswana safari costs from US$2,590 per person for seven days. The classic route combines three to four nights in the Okavango Delta with three nights in Chobe National Park. Expect game drives, mokoro excursions, boat safaris, and river cruises, then check inclusions before booking.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. The marketplace helps you compare routes, prices, and trip styles before you request a quote. That matters in Botswana, where two packages with the same duration can include very different aircraft transfers, camps, and activities.
A 7-Day Botswana Safari Itinerary 2027: Route, Cost and Booking plan is a focused circuit through the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, and Chobe National Park. The route combines water-based activities with land drives, so you see different habitats during one week. A listed 2027 price starts at US$2,590 per person. [2]
The Okavango Delta is the usual opening point for a fly-in safari. Its channels support mokoro excursions and boat safaris, while nearby plains support game drives. Moremi Game Reserve adds woodland and floodplain habitats to the same part of the journey.
Chobe National Park changes the feel of the trip. Chobe activities commonly include river cruises and game drives. A classic Botswana circuit uses three to four nights in the Delta, followed by three nights in Chobe. [3]
| Route area | Typical stay | Main activities | Why it belongs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Okavango Delta | Three to four nights | Mokoro trips, boat safaris, game drives | Wetland viewing and water channels |
| Moremi Game Reserve | Part of the Delta stay | Game drives and floodplain viewing | Woodland and open wildlife areas |
| Chobe National Park | Three nights | River cruises and game drives | River wildlife and land safaris |
The key feature is variety without a long overland transfer. Water levels, camp location, and aircraft schedules shape each day. A fly-in itinerary can include scheduled inter-camp aircraft transfers, but flight rates may change. [4]
The route also suits travelers who want a clear plan. You know the broad order before arrival, yet each camp gives you a different view of Botswana. If you prefer more time in one place, spend all seven days in the Delta instead of adding Chobe.
SafariFind gives you a place to compare Botswana routes before you choose a camp style. Compare seven-day Botswana safari packages and route options to see which plans match your budget.
A seven-day Botswana safari costs from US$2,590 per person in 2027, while 2026 SafariFind listings range from US$2,426 to US$7,295 per person. A realistic daily budget is US$350 to US$750, which places a seven-day trip near US$2,450 to US$5,250 before extra services. [2]
Price range: US$2,590 to more than US$5,250 per person for many seven-day plans. The final figure depends on camp level, aircraft transfers, private guiding, and the activities included. Premium camps can push the total well above the basic starting rate.
| Trip type | Price guide | What the figure tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Seven-day 2027 starting price | From US$2,590 per person | Entry point for a listed itinerary |
| Seven-day daily budget | US$350 to US$750 per person | Rough planning range before extras |
| 2026 SafariFind listing range | US$2,426 to US$7,295 per person | Shows the spread between package styles |
| Eight-day Botswana-related tour | From US$5,195 | Lowest listed price for 26 March 2027 departure |
Some eight-day Botswana-related tours cost from US$5,195 for a 26 March 2027 departure. [6] That figure is useful as a comparison, but it does not replace a like-for-like seven-day quote. Duration, countries visited, comfort level, and included transport can differ.
Ask for a clear list of inclusions before you pay. Check these points line by line:
International flights to Maun or Gaborone may sit outside the safari package price. [5] A low headline rate can look attractive until you add flights, transfers, tips, visas, and extra nights. SafariFind helps you compare tour operators and request a quote that lists these costs clearly.
Request quotes from verified Botswana safari operators for your 2027 budget and compare the inclusions before choosing a route.
The best time for a Botswana safari depends on the water season, wildlife goals, and camp access, so confirm the 2027 travel months with your chosen operator before paying. The research for this itinerary confirms the route and activities, but it does not set one universal best month for every Delta and Chobe trip.
Ask the operator how water levels affect mokoro trips and boat safaris on your planned dates. Then ask how the same dates affect game drives in Moremi and Chobe. This simple check links the calendar to the activities you care about.
Water-based travel is central to the Delta section. Land viewing matters in Moremi and Chobe. Therefore, your best dates should match your preferred balance between boats, mokoros, and vehicle drives rather than a single general season label.
Safari package dates can also affect aircraft seats and camp space. A 2027 fly-in plan uses scheduled inter-camp aircraft transfers, and flight rates can change. [4] Ask whether the quoted aircraft cost is fixed, estimated, or subject to change before you confirm.
Best for first-time visitors: Use three or four Delta nights and three Chobe nights. This gives you a simple two-area route with different activities.
Best for water activities: Give the Delta more nights and confirm mokoro and boat availability. Add Chobe if river cruises are a priority.
Best for a lower price: Compare fewer flight sectors, shared activities, and mid-range camps. Do not remove park activities without checking what the package still includes.
Best for families: Ask about minimum ages for mokoro trips, walking activities, and aircraft transfers. Camp rules can shape the itinerary more than the number of nights.
For more planning context, read the Botswana safari operators guide for 2027. It can help you prepare questions before you compare packages.
Book a seven-day Botswana safari by fixing your route, budget, dates, and luggage needs before requesting quotes. Start with the Okavango Delta, Moremi, and Chobe plan, then ask each operator to show every transfer, activity, meal, and fee in writing.
Maun is a practical arrival point for many Delta routes, while Gaborone may suit broader southern Africa trips. International flights to either city may be excluded from the safari package. [5] Put the arrival city, transfer time, and final departure point on your quote.
One 2027 fly-in safari specifies soft luggage only, with a maximum allowance of 20 kilograms per person. [4] Pack light clothing, a small camera, personal medicine, and a soft bag that fits the aircraft rule.
Do not assume a hard suitcase will fit. Ask whether the 20-kilogram allowance includes hand luggage. Also confirm what happens if your bag exceeds the limit, since aircraft capacity can affect transfers between remote camps.
Compare the same route across at least two quotes. One operator may include aircraft transfers and park fees, while another may list them separately. The cheaper headline price is not always the cheaper complete trip.
Read the cancellation terms before you pay. Ask how the operator handles flight changes, missed connections, weather delays, and camp substitutions. These details matter more on a fly-in safari than on a city hotel booking.
For a longer look at entry costs, read what a 2027 Chobe safari quote covers. You can also compare Botswana safari lodges and booking prices before selecting your camp.
Yes. Botswana is good for safari because a seven-day route can combine the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, and Chobe National Park. The plan includes water activities such as mokoro trips and boat safaris, plus game drives and Chobe river cruises. [2][3]

What is the best time of year to go on safari in Botswana? The best time depends on the water levels, wildlife goals, and activities you want. Confirm your 2027 months with the operator, especially if mokoro trips and boat safaris matter. The route combines Delta wetlands with Moremi and Chobe game drives.
Is Botswana safe for tourists?Botswana travel safety depends on current government advice, local conditions, and the operator's camp and transfer procedures. Check official travel guidance before departure, follow your guide's instructions, and confirm emergency support when you book. Safari packages use planned transfers between camps.
Is Botswana safe for solo female travellers?Solo female travelers should confirm camp security, airport transfers, walking rules, and emergency contacts before booking. A guided safari reduces the need to travel alone between remote camps. Ask the operator how staff manage transfers and activities on your exact 2027 route.
Is Botswana safe for American tourists?American tourists should check current United States travel advice before departure and confirm passport, entry, health, and insurance needs. The safari operator should provide arrival instructions, transfer details, and an emergency contact for the Delta and Chobe sections.

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
